THE BLUE EVULOTION

T
he Blue Revolution is a research center situated on a floating platform located in the Antarctic region.
It is expected melting glacier and iceberg that will affect worldwide sea-level rise. The human race and animals by then be staying on the ocean due to the impacts of global warming. Global warming will causes temperatures rises and ice melts, with more water flowing to the seas from glaciers and ice caps, expanding the volume of ocean water Therefore, land will no longer be sufficient to sustain human population and other living organisms. The assumption is when all the glaciers and ice caps are melted; sea levels would rise by 80 meters. In the future, there will be a risk to the earth surface turned to be 15% land and 85% water, compared to current scenario of earth surface being 30% land and 70% of water. 90% of the largest cities are next to the sea will be severely affected by the sea-level rise. The most drastically affected will be nations on the list currently living 6 meters below sea level. This rising sea-level is a threat to people and the environment, with low lying area experiencing more frequent flooding and with time submerged completely. This will threaten to wildlife population and harm coastal ecosystems, contaminate our drinking water and interfere with farming. Clean water is one of the most important requirement for living needs, it is ironic that we are surrounded with sea water but being unable to utilize it without major processing and effort.
The Blue Revolution project includes research facilities for researcher. These research facilities specialize in the research of prevention of melting glacier and impact mitigation solutions to prevent and reduce the impacts from sea-level rise. It allows the researcher to obtain their samples from iceberg and glacier for experimentation. Self-sustaining factors are included in the construction as researchers will be staying in the facility in long term Antarctic conditions.

IF ALL THE ICE MELTED After the ocean, ice is the biggest water reservoir on the planet. There are more than five million cubic miles of it, and no one really knows how long it would take to melt it all. But if we burn all the Earth’s supply of coal, oil and gas, adding five trillion more tons of carbon to the atmosphere, we will create a very hot planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degree Fahrenheit instead of the current 58. The vision will see with an ice free planet for the first time, and humans are looking for more solutions to adapt to the scenario.
A HISTORY OF ICE IN MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO The last time Earth was free of ice was more than 34 million years ago, in the Eocene epoch. Aligators swam in Arctic swamps. But the planet slowly cooled as carbon dioxide rained from the air and was locked up in seafloor sediments. Continental ice sheets formed first in Antartica, but over the past few million years they have repeatedly surged across northern continents too. We are living in a warm interglacial period, 20000 years ago Chicago, New York and London were buried under ice.

So far sea levels have risen by about 20cm (since 1880). As global warming continues, the rate is speeding up, with sea levels currently rising at about 3mm per year. Looking ahead, future sea level rise could total one meter or even more by the end of this century if emissions are not held in check. Why is sea level rise dangerous? Sea level rise has already worsened flooding caused by tropical cyclones and everyday high tides. Yet today about half of the world's population, three billion people are living within 200km of a coastline.

CONCLUSION The climate change would increase the number of people suffering from death, disease and injury from heat waves, floods, storms and droughts. High-density populations in lowlying coastal regions experience a high health burden from weather disasters and threaten by water rising issue. hurricanes, droughts and floods become more frequent. Sea-level rise has became a noticable issue by global warming, it is obviously affecting the countries especially beside to the sea globally. In worst scenario, it can be visualised as insufficient land use in the future by half of the current at least. The problem could possibly be helped by architectural method, architecture can possibly help the communities to adapt or improve to the worst scenarios if all the ice in the world are melted.

NEGOTIATING THE CITIES The antarctica research will provide contribution to The cities globally in order to prevent the ocean water further expands in volume.
THEORISING THE PUBLIC URBAN BUILDING The antarctica research center are inspired by the Iceberg, sinking the building underwater in a harsh environment would be benificial for the researchers.
MATERIAL AGENDAS AND CONTEMPORARY TECTONICS The circular plan and modular system are integrated in to the antartica research center, it would have the flexibility to expand the spaces when needed.

BATH HOUSE GRAVING DOCK

The proposed bath house aimed to focus in revitalise the historic graving dock in Govan. The inspiration from River Clyde and the characteristic in Govan with the aim of introducing the Water Square as well as connecting the people with the water activities. In the place with heavy rainfall - Govan, the architecture introduce the Water Square concept that expresses the importance of water element. There are a lot activities that can be interact with people by using the water element, it also allows people to have calm and refreshing environment, furthermore, the water could be use to promote greenery park on the graving dock.

The project concerns the design of a Young Adults (16-25 years old) Hospice, to be sited within a selected masterplan of Govan to the west of the City of Glasgow. The health of the eye seems to demand a horizon. We are never tired, so long as we can see far enough. The main facts in human life are five: birth, food, sleep, love and death.

Hospices rely on their architecture to do a significant amount of the passive palliative work, setting the scene for people going through a traumatic experience. They are places where people draw on strengths they may not have realised they had, in order to maximise their own capacity to cope. The buildings should provide the chance for people to read themselves differently, as individuals in unusually difficult circumstances, not as patients, let alone terminally ill ones.
