Man of Action Every child can play ball at no cost By Jackie Devereaux Desert Hot Springs, CA – It was not the usual opening day for Little League baseball.
No, it was very different for two reasons. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there were no mass gatherings of parents, no
pompous opening ceremonies, everyone in attendance had to wear a mask, and practice social distancing. The 26 Little League baseball teams along with their anxious parents had their attendance
staggered throughout the day on Saturday, April 24 to maintain the strict pandemic protocols. But despite all the restrictions, the games did go on without a hitch, and there was a big, big surprise!

By Desert Star Staff RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA -- Southern Californians looking for relief from a year of staying at home may be cheered by the announcement that the Maloof Historic Home, Workshop and Discovery Garden will reopen to the public on Saturday, May 1, 2021. “We’ve got refreshing, artful experiences in beautiful surroundings, within an hour’s drive of much of Southern California,” says Jim Rawitsch, executive director of the notfor-profit Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts
and Crafts. “The Maloof is what we all need to start recovering and reconnecting after a year of COVID.” The Maloof will be operating at 50% capacity during May, with in-person home tours, art on view, artist projects and woodworking workshops spotlighted throughout the month.
