Animal Samaritans’ 10th Annual Men of the Desert Fashion Show & Charity Luncheon Raises $170,000 To Fund Its Animal Rescue Program By Madeline Zuckerman It was a Who’s Who of the Coachella Valley, as over 450 guests turned out for a day of fun to celebrate a decade of handsome Dudes, Dogs, and Designer Men’s Fashions. This year’s 10th Annual “MEN OF THE DESERT” Fashion Show & Charity Luncheon was billed at the most successful

to date, benefitting Animal Samaritans, the Valley’s most comprehensive animal welfare organization. This event commenced with a Champagne Reception and Silent Auction, followed by a scrumptious lunch in the ballroom of the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa. Following lunch, it was on

to the event highlight -- the Men’s Fashion Show, featuring 20 handsome Dudes from our community, showcasing fashions from Saks Fifth Avenue, SEAPLANE, and Benjamin Perdereau. “This year’s event was one of the most successful ever!” stated Tom Snyder, CEO of Animal Samaritans. “The

proceeds will fund our Animal Rescue Program, and allow us to continue our important work of saving adoptable, at-risk dogs and cats. Our dedicated and highly-trained Veterinarians, who were honored at the luncheon, are truly compassionate about the animals they care for,” Snyder continued.

It Was a Good Theatrical Year for Some Theatres in Southern California By Jack Lyons Theatre and Film Critic Member American Theatre Critics Association Once again, it’s that time for recapping live theatrical productions of the Coachella Valley as the curtain of the ‘teen decade’ decends. Who knows what the decade of the ‘20s will bring to our desert audiences. After all, theatre productions, as well as our culture and our society, are constantly evolving both in subject matter, style, and in their

technical skills presentations. We leave the awarding of individual performances from our many talented performers and the creative technical teams who support them to the Desert Theatre League (DTL) to pass out trophies. However, it’s a time-honored tradition in the world of theatre that journalists, reviewers, and critics also get the opportunity to chime in with their opinions, which may or may not reflect DTL’s honorees.
