“Country Club Golf Day” Desert Island Opens to Public with Championship Golf, New Restaurants By Desert Star Staff RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – Desert Island Country Club has opened to the public and introduced several new dining destinations, open all summer long. Located in the famous

Playground of the Presidents, directly adjacent to historic Sunnylands on Frank Sinatra Drive, the 1971-vintage property boasts an excellent 6,715-yard golf course designed by legendary architect Desmond Muirhead.

While playing, guests enjoy the authentic club experience with amenities like chilled towels, umbrellaed carts, insulated water bottles, and beverage service. After an exciting day on the links, guests can retreat

to the luxurious Clubhouse, home to three dining areas, a grand ballroom, a veranda bar, and a terrace with sweeping views of the surrounding desert, lake, and mountains. Each venue has its ingredients-driven

By Desert Star Staff Hundreds of people celebrated US independence in Highland Park, a suburb of Chicago when suddenly, a pop-pop sound of high-powered gunfire rang out. Panic broke out. According to the police, six people were killed and 36 others injured, including several children. The perpetrator was a fugitive for several hours, then around 7 p.m. (local time), the redeeming news: the suspect was arrested! According to the police,

it is 22-year-old Robert E. Crimo III, whom himself comes from Highland Park. Police described him as dangerous and armed during the search. A police officer recognized the vehicle after being searched, a silver Honda Fit. After a brief chase, Crimo III was arrested without resistance in Lake Forest, Illinois, not far from Chicago. No information has yet been given on a motive. Continues on Page 3
