CA ‘Angels’ wanted! New Study: California No. 3 Best State for Nurses By Desert Star Staff A new study found California is the No[RP1]. Three best state for nursing professionals in 2021. Nurse Practitioners in the state earn $135,480 on average, and by 2028 jobs for Nurse Practitioners are projected
to grow by 30.5%.[RP2] Today, the Senior List released a study on the Highest Paying States for Nursing Professionals using the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, and Projections Central. The rankings were
determined by analyzing income, projected job growth and housing costs in each state for different types of nurses. Key California Findings: · By 2028, jobs are projected to increase for Home Health and Personal Care aides by 25.6%, Nurse Practitioners
by 30.5%, Registered Nurses by 16.7%, and Nursing Assistants by 14.3%. [RP3] · Nurse Practitioners spend 14% of their salary on housing, Home Health and Personal Care Aides spend 64%. [RP4] Key National Findings: · Nurse Practitioners earn at least $100,000 in all but four states, and jobs are projected to grow by 50% by 2028.
· Since 2011, salaries increased for Home Health and Personal Care Aides by 34%, Nursing Assistants by 26%, Nurse Practitioners by 24%, and Registered Nurses by 14%. · The five best states are New York, Maryland and three western states – California, Colorado, and Oregon. The five worst states are all in the south; Alabama has the lowest ranking.
Senate and Assembly Reach Agreement on $30 Million Oasis Mobilehome Park
By Desert Star Staff SACRAMENTO, CA) This evening, both the Senate and Assembly budget committees agreed on the inclusion of Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia’s (D-Coachella) $30 million budget request to support the residents of Oasis Mobilehome Park to help resolve this urgent public health and housing crisis in the Eastern Coachella Valley. “The $30 million we requested to serve the residents of Oasis Mobilehome Park has been officially included in
both the Senate and Assembly budget proposals. This is a major feat, and we want to recognize Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability and all our local and statewide partners who lent their voices to this important cause. I especially want to credit the Oasis Mobilehome Park residents who have been their own best advocates defending their rights. We are very close and must continue our advocacy to bring these funds across the legislative finish line and sent to Governor Newsom
