Tools For Tomorrow Gala

Story and Photos by Pat Krause Tools for Tomorrow Visionaries held a Musical Extravaganza and Gala Dinner Show on Monday, February 28th. It was their 2022 Vision For The Future Award honoring Sandra Cooper Woodson. The event was held at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino. The Gala started with a cocktail reception where tables full of Silent Auction items were displayed. In addition, vendors were present with fabulously bead encrusted purses and other wares for sale. Pianist David Hirsch played during the reception to the delight of all guests. Master of ceremonies was Patrick Evans, KESQ meteorologist and Eye on the Desert Host.

This year’s gala co-chairs were Claire Smith, Irma Smith and C J Westrick-Bomer. The Vision For The Future Award was Created and designed by local artists Karen and Tony Barone. There were several featured performers at this Gala. Singer Terri Olsen and The Perfect Blend Band co-performed with Frank DeSalvo. They kept the guests tapping their feet with very upbeat songs. Each artist sang a solo song and then would do a duet. They sang some of the songs: Luck Be A Lady Tonight, The Old Black Magic, and Life Is a Cabaret. Of course, the evenings’ songs were started with the Star-Spangled Banner.
