By Desert Star Staff As Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing kicks off, the Trump-nominated judge has vowed to leave politics out of the law. The hearing
itself, however, promises to be a hyper-partisan battle. The Senate Judiciary Committee meets on Monday to get the ball rolling on Coney Barrett’s nomination process. In her opening remarks,
Coney Barrett promised to interpret the law “as written, not as the judge wishes it were,” in the style of her mentor, the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia. “Courts have a vital
responsibility to enforce the rule of law,” she continued, “but courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life. The government’s policy decisions and value judgments

PS Air Museum Welcomes Retiring F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter
By Ann Greer On Saturday, October 3, 2020 a Stealth Fighter F-117 Nighthawk arrives at the Palm Springs Air Museum, where it will join the Palm Springs Air Museum’s extensive permanent collection. The F-117 will be welcomed with a formal military retirement ceremony, including water arch. After the formal retirement, the plane goes into restoration and will not be seen for several months. to be built within the next twelve months. The Pavilion is The F-117 Nighthawk is an American single-seat, twin-engine stealth attack aircraft that was developed by Lockheed’s secretive Skunk Works division and operated by the United States Air Force. It was the first aircraft that used
stealth technology. Although its maiden flight was in 1981, it wasn’t unveiled to the public until 1988. Only 64 were built: five were prototypes, and the remaining 59 were used by the military. This represents the first civilian museum to house a retired F-117A Nighthawk. The Palm Springs Air Museum contains over 60 vintage aircraft from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War contained in 86,000 square feet of open hangars and on the tarmac. Additional displays and memorabilia are located throughout the hangars. Hours are 10 to 5. Admission rates range from $11.50 to $18.50. Kids 12 and under get in free with paid adult admission.
