Brook, The CUP is a 2-step process. The first step is to apply for a nonfarm dwelling deposit, and you/they pay 10% of the CUP fee (ten percent of $3,200 is $320.00) and we send them a packet of information. They use that packet to answer all the questions in the nonfarm dwelling application. It generally takes 3-4 weeks for us to send you the packet. However long it takes for you to then put together the nonfarmdwelling application is totally in your hands. Once you then formally submit for the CUP, it can take anywhere from6-10 weeks for an administrative decision, or, if it has to go to a public hearing, it can take 4-6 months. Your client will have to pay the CUP fee ($3,200.00) plus a Hearings Officer deposit fee of an additional $3,000.00. -----Original Message----From: Brook Havens [mailto:brookmhavens@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2014 3:22 PM To: Paul Blikstad Cc: Pam Phillips Subject: Re: Barr Road Property Question Paul, On this property 66355 Barr Rd Can you tell me the process for the Seller to start the CUP and sent the documents required so I can forward to him on the east coast? If the CUP was approved then, have there been any changes that would make it difficult to have it approved again? If the Seller doesn't renew the CUP, is a Buyer going to have a trouble getting the CUP with current zoning laws? thank you Brook Havens | Principal Broker | Cascade Sothebys International Realty C: 541-604-0788 O: 541-923-1376 E: brookmhavens@gmail.com W: desertvalleygroup.com & cascadesothebysrealty.com licensed in the State of Oregon On Apr 4, 2014, at 7:50 AM, Paul Blikstad <Paul.Blikstad@deschutes.org> wrote:
Brook, It is zoned Exclusive Farm Use (EFU-TRB), which means that a conditional use permit for a nonfarm dwelling will be required. There was a CUP approved back in 2002 (CU-02-11), but it has long since expired. So, it would need to be applied for again. Check with Todd Cleveland in our office (541-617-4714) about the septic site evaluation on record. It is fairly old, so you would want to check with him to see if it needs to be "re-upped."
