GRAPHIC DESIGN & PORTFOLIO I

n this exciting project-based course students will learn HOW to design with creativity, using professional type and colour application, and apply successful layout skills to produce professional-looking documents. Introductory studies covering the areas of composition, colour theory, indepth typography, hand-sketching techniques, design history and idea development are explored.

COURSES

Students receive comprehensive instruction in the areas of corporate identity, book cover design, magazine layout, advertising, brochure and flier design, menu design, packaging and pre-press management. Students will be taught via theory, practical examples and project based homework. Following lessons, students will be expected to complete assignments and will receive feedback and constructive criticism during the next class. Students may be requested to research topics on the internet during the course.

In culmination of the course, students will have built an impressive graphic design portfolio that will demonstrate their developed design and technical skills. View portfolios here A separate Preparation for Print course is offered after Pesach for in depth understanding of the complete print process and production. ENTRANCE CRITERIA Students can only join this course if they are learning Computer Graphics simultaneously or have prior knowledge of the graphic programs. No prior experience with Graphic Design is necessary.
