our experience is your advantage

1939 Andersen & Stender is founded in the street of Classensgade in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark by wholesalers Ib Andersen and Hugo Stender, who sell buttons for men’s ready-made clothing. 1956 Andersen & Stender buys the company ‘Johan Lavendt’ in Herning, Denmark, whereby the product range is now extended to also including other kinds of sewing accessories for the fashion and textile industry. 1969 The textile industry powers ahead in the areas around the cities of Herning and Ikast in the 1960s. That taken into consideration, the owners decide to merge the two businesses in a newly-built headquarters building in the street of Birkegårdsvej 5, Herning in 1969. The address of Andersen & Stender still remains the same. 1978 Anker Jensen, an employee who relocated from Copenhagen, buys the company. 2005 Jacob Ryssel, the son of Anker Jensen, takes over Andersen & Stender along with long-serving employee Keld Larsen. 2009 Andersen & Stender takes over all activities of Freudenberg Danmark A/S in Risskov, by which interlinings are added to the range of products. 2015 Jacob Ryssel takes over the company (100 %). Today, Andersen & Stender helps their customers all over the world.
