Uncompromising quality and style

A recently completed project combined kitchen, utility, boot room, a living space including television and media centre as well as a games room and bar. As with all Poggenpohl creations, the rooms were finished to an exacting standard, down to every last detail.

For the games room and bar area, the client took inspiration from a previous Poggenpohl project, requesting a darker colour scheme to the kitchen furniture as well as undercounter cooling appliances.

The remote operated lighting gives complete control over the brightness and colour warmth of the shelves as well as overhead. Poggenpohl also specified the optics ensuring everything worked together.

Overall, the client had a strong vision of the appliance brands and functions they wanted, but then allowed much of the design work and colour specification to be created by the design team. As a result, they - and the team at Poggenpohl - are delighted with the result.

This kitchen also included +Stage pocket doors to hide the breakfast area during gatherings (shown open here) as well as the use of book-matching to the Neolith ceramic splashbacks which combined with bronze mirror glass for a beautiful and elevated finish to the design.

The sustainability of boiling water taps

Climate change is upon us and is showing no immediate signs of slowing down. As a result, people are quite rightly increasingly concerned with where their products come from and how they directly impact the environment. It is right for everyone to play their part and for brands specifically to take responsibility. Across the kitchen and bathroom industry and beyond, companies have had to rethink and adapt their product offerings or services to meet this shift; boiling water taps are no different. In addition to the hot, cold and boiling water functions, manufacturers are turning their attention to new water modes.
