InSinkErator® has a range of specialist kitchen taps that are designed to eliminate the need for a kettle and are available in an array of designs and on-trend finishes, including the top of the range 4N1 Touch in Brushed Steel and Velvet Black

A must have Eco-appliance for the kitchen In an attempt to boost recycling and protect the environment, the Government has announced separate food waste collections will be introduced for every UK household by 2023. However, having a separate food waste collection does mean smelly food waste accumulates in the kitchen. When designing your customer’s kitchen, why not specify an InSinkErator® food waste disposer? It allows food waste to be disposed of instantly, eliminating the need to use an unhygienic food waste caddy, especially when home composting is not possible. Whilst being a genuinely practical, safe and hygienic food waste solution, an InSinkErator® food waste disposer offers a

sustainable way to managing food waste in the home as there is often unavoidable waste from food preparation and leftovers. As a result, all too often, in a throw-away society, food waste ends up in landfill where it contributes to the release of harmful methane into the environment. Instead of going to landfill, inedible food waste is safely ground into minute sized particles, without the use of blades, thanks to the innovative system of stainless-steel grinding rings. The food waste is simply rinsed away safely down the drain, through the standard plumbing.

Renowned, multi-award winning, interior designer, Kelly Hoppen CBE has endorsed the entire InSinkErator® portfolio of specialist kitchen taps and food waste disposers

To discuss how an InSinkErator® food waste disposer is the perfect alternative to the food waste caddy, visit our stand at kbb Birmingham, from 6th – 9th March, in Hall 18 at stand J84. Retailer contact details: InSinkErator® T: 01923 297880 W: insinkerator.co.uk

BACK ON TRACK The run-up to this edition of KBB Birmingham has been an unpredictable time, with a surge in Covid numbers in the New Year causing concerns about whether the event would be affected. Chris Edwards, Group Director of KBB, said last month: “There are a few companies based in the EU that are only now being affected by the Omicron wave that led to dramatic case rises in the UK through December and early January and are therefore unable to make our 2022 show. We appreciate the difficult circumstances they are facing and look forward to welcoming them back to the event in 2024.

Polymer manufacturer REHAU returns to KBB this year, showcasing its surfaces, edgeband and tambour door collection. The brand will display its latest RAUVISIO noir monotonic matte surface in a full kitchen display.

“We would also like to extend our gratitude to our exhibitors who are still coming to the show and are reaching out to us to tell us how excited they are to reconnect with friends and customers after so much disruption to our industry over the last two years and feel that buzz that is so unique to in-person events.”

BORA will be showing S Pure, a cooktop with an integrated extractor offering performance and optimum cooktop use while preserving maximum storage space. With a width of 60cm, the compact cooktop features four asymmetrically arranged cooking zones, plus an air inlet nozzle that comes in six different colours.

More than just a tap? It must be a Quooker. First invented by Dutch physicist Henri Peteri in 1970, what started as a simple yet totally original idea is now a daily reality for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. So what makes a Quooker so revolutionary? With a Quooker tap you will always have 100°C boiling, hot and cold water on demand. Not only that, by adding our CUBE accessory you can enjoy filtered chilled and sparkling water too!

Save water & energy A UK report published in 2016 by The Daily Mail, confirmed that as a nation, we waste huge amounts of water and energy by overfilling kettles. When you dispense water from your Quooker tap, you only use the exact amount of water you need. Quooker’s patented vacuum tank allows for water to be kept at 110°C under pressure. This technology keeps the water hot without needing to use much energy - much like a flask! The water only boils when it exits the tap - so it is not constantly boiling inside the vessel. Our COMBI reservoir has also been awarded Energy Label A. This reservoir not only supplies boiling water, but also hot water for washing up. With a Quooker CUBE,

you will get filtered chilled and sparkling as well as 100°C boiling, hot and cold water. At last, no more plastic bottles and your chance to help save the planet. Did you know over 38.5 million plastic bottles are used every day in the UK and it takes 3 litres of water to make just one 1 litre bottle!* A single Quooker UK CO2 cylinder is equivalent to 60 plastic bottles and saves a massive 180 litres in production alone.

With a Quooker you’ll be saving plastic waste, water, energy, and time – all from one tap!

An offer you can’t refuse When you purchase a Quooker CUBE, installation by a Quooker engineer is just £99, (normally £384) plus you will receive 5 CO2 cylinders FREE. The equivalent of 300 litre bottles of sparkling water. Only when you quote offer code

DCS/01.

Already have a Quooker tap? You can easily add a CUBE. Visit Quooker.co.uk, call 0345 833 3333 or e-mail enquiries@quooker.co.uk for assistance. *Figures sourced from Quooker UK

Quality and excellence in a much larger stand than previous KBB exhibitions positioned on stand N84 in Hall 18. On display will be brand-new product launches including two new “universal” range products, new concepts and technology, the award-winning Edge range of hoods, along with high performance hoods from the newly created professional range, as well as the usual unique bespoke examples. 2022

Over the years, Westin cooker hoods has become a name synonymous with quality and excellence within the British kitchen industry. Founded in 1921 and still manufacturing cooker hoods in the same premises in the heart of Yorkshire, a lot of things have changed in 100 years, but Westin have stuck to the core beliefs of using local talent to manufacture beautiful products with pride, along with a personal approach to customer service. Westin don’t just sell a cooker hood. Through a consultation process, they select a hood that will work perfectly in harmony with the most important factors, how the customer likes to cook and how they plan to use the kitchen. Westin believe that all home cooking should be without compromise in performance or design, be it with a standard “off the shelf” cooker hood solution, or through the unique bespoke service, they believe that all home cooking should be, in short… limitless. Westin are pleased to unveil a brand-new look for spring 2022 in the form of a rebrand. Fresh from the company celebrating their centenary at the end of 2021, this year promises to be a big one for the British brand. Building the House of Rohl

Shaws Belthorn sink in Black

2022

20

Last year the House of Rohl name was introduced as a home for these individual and still independent brands. Rohl and the House of Rohl are now owned by Fortune Brands, a US corporation listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The vision remains unchanged, to bring together stories of craft, design and excellence, giving customers products of substance and meaning. Many designers will be familiar with Perrin & Rowe brassware and sanitaryware, Victoria + Albert baths and Shaws’ fireclay sinks. Riobel will be new to most, however. Born in Quebec and inspired by Canada’s most vibrant city, Riobel brassware has a unique architectural style. The sculptural forms deftly conceal the advanced engineering beneath. Established by a plumber, from a family of plumbers, the philosophy has always been to design taps for reliability and easy fitting. Recommended by installers and loved by owners in its native country, Riobel was launched into Europe at

the end of 2021. The bathroom collection includes two showstoppers: the awardwinning Parabola and the elegantly modern Venty. Both demonstrate Riobel’s distinctive design language, yet would fit naturally into a wide range of bathroom styles. All five of Riobel’s new kitchen taps bring something fresh to the European market. The Solstice is a sleek and chic kitchen tap that looks dramatically different yet is effortless to use. The Ludik tap fuses linear and circular forms to create a sophisticated profile. Azure, Mythic and Trattoria complete the range, all featuring a discreet pull-down handset with industry-leading Boomerang technology.

Some 40 years ago, Ken Rohl was touring European trade shows for his American employer. Amazed by the standard of brassware available to the European market, he knew immediately he had a golden opportunity. This was the beginning of a journey that saw Ken travel the world to identify the finest kitchen and bathroom fittings. Then he would drive the length and breadth of the United States to present them to potential customers. ‘I would load up the trunk of my car’, Ken recalls, ‘and tell my wife I’d see her when all of the faucets were gone.’ With his three sons, Ken built a highly successful distribution business. The family established an unrivalled reputation in the industry, based on personal integrity and product quality. Rohl became large enough to own and support the brands it had so much success selling. In 2016 and 2017, Perrin & Rowe, Riobel, Shaws of Darwen and Victoria + Albert were acquired.

Developed by the Roca Design Centre team in collaboration with the international design studios Noa Design and Benedito Design, the collection is defined by a Mediterraneaninspired design aesthetic. The Ona collection features some of Roca’s most exciting innovations, such as Fineceramic® and Stonex® materials, Everlux coloured finishes and Supraglaze® ceramic coatings. The complete bathroom collection includes basins and furniture, brassware, baths, accessories, WCs and bidets and is suitable for a full range of bathroom designs. Ona’s elegant basins are an example of all the possibilities offered by Fineceramic®, the ceramic material that allows for finer and lighter pieces that adapt to any size. Over countertop basins are available in rectangular and round shapes and can be placed asymmetrically or centred, providing extra shelving space and design freedom. All the basins are available in white and matt white finishes and the glossy white versions can also have the added option of a Supraglaze® coating. This extra smooth surface, causes microscopic residue to

slide off, and prevents dirt build-up. Basins can also be paired with the complimentary furniture in 5 stylish colourways including Matt Green and Dark Elm. One of Ona’s most striking elements is a tap with a distinguishing look, conceived by Benedito Design. It represents the perfect balance between design, technology, and sustainability. It stands out for its cylindrical and particularly slim body, available in different heights and spout lengths with a flat minimalistic handle and Cold Start technology, which is specifically designed to avoid the unnecessary use of hot water, helping to save energy. Ona brassware is available in four finishes: the chrome option with Evershine electrolytic coating, titanium black and rose gold, obtained by the exclusive Everlux PVD finish and the classic matt black. Visitors to KBB will also be able to see a working demonstration of the groundbreaking In-Wash® In-Tank® smart WC, which combines maximum intimate hygiene and greater freedom of installation. In-Wash® In-Tank® is the only shower toilet on the market that has an integrated cistern therefore offering a streamlined installation and easy maintenance as well as the guarantee of a full hygiene experience. The suite at KBB will also feature stand out products from Roca such as The Gap, The Gap D-Trit, Domi and Romea furniture collections, as well as the Maui Bath, Cratos shower tray and the Smart Shower.

natural or colour anodised surface. These add character to any space and deliver that all important emotional metallic touch. A seamless look The surfaces can be used on cabinets, furniture, doors, frames and shelves, or on household appliances and electronic devices. Our range is often available with a pre-treatment on the reverse for HPL applications or for adhesion to a range of other base materials, including ABS, PVC as well as other plastics. Ask us about suitable primers for your application. As the materials are flexible and bendable, they can wrap around edges or bend into hollows, delivering exciting new design opportunities. Look out for new versions and variations later in the year.

Stuart Tranter, General Manager, Alanod UK, comments: “Our DECO PRIME® coloured aluminium surfaces offer designers the ultimate in metallic surface flexibility.
