INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE, INTERIOR DESIGN & BESPOKE FURNITURE
Many of you will have voted this year for The International Design & Architecture Awards and so will probably have followed the results on line, if you were not at the ceremony in person. So news of the winners announced immediately by digital publication, social media and press releases will not be news to you. We have however taken you a step further with this issue and featured some of the winning projects from designers Joanna Wood, Chris Dezille, Sean Cochrane, The Design Studio at Uber and Casa Forma along with product winners. This is the first of several issues which will take you inside the winning projects and allow you to explore a little further and view a little closer, the schemes you have voted for. We have shown you a little of the Awards Evening itself on page …..This is something if I am honest I have never been keen to do in any titles I have edited.
Images of people out, mingling and mixing has never been one of my preferred looks for any title, but in this instance I have made an exception. It was such a spectacular evening, stylishly shot, so I wanted to share it with you and more than this, extend an invitation to you to join us next year, once again at The Hurlingham Club 12 September 2014. You will notice a few new ‘news sections’ this month and over the coming months there will be some changes and additions to the regular issue of design et al, as our annual and this year extensive reader research tells us exactly what you would like to see more and less of. I am excited to see the results as they come in and very much look forward to developing the title, which after all is an ongoing and evolving process, but ultimately an exciting one. Joanne
The International Product Design Awards The Winners Black & Key Category: Table Product: Morph table collection Their Morph table collection, is made up of the Ecto, Meso and Endo tables. The inspiration behind the collection comes from the wish to create an original design for a side table that can be adapted in a variety of dimensions and finishes. This table, like others in the range, can be made with a contrasting radial Macassar or burr walnut top, or in any of the other veneers on top as well as legs. The Meso table is shown crafted in Raven walnut with antique brass as well as in Pewter bird’s eye maple throughout, with polished nickel capping. Other veneers and finishes are available, such as Noir, Piano black, and other bird’s eye maple veneers such as Sable or Mink.
Baker (Swivel Lounge Chair) Category: Chair Product: Bevel Swivel Lounge Chair Submitted by: Baker (The Thomas Pheasant Collection) Occasionally, the woodworking required by upholstery can exceed that of even a large cabinet. A tight back and seat force the eye to the frame.

J. Rotherham Category: Fireplace Piece: The Feversham The Classic Collection of fireplaces by J. Rotherham is a range of hand-finished fireplaces available in a selection of beautiful British limestones, made from start to finish at our factory in Yorkshire. The Feversham is a Georgian style design that has classic, architectural proportions making it an ideal choice for many house styles and periods. It has an elegant presence with attractive detailing. Crisp, wellformed mouldings give it a strong form and help give definition to its shape. The generously proportioned cushioned frieze adds a further dimension of architectural quality ensuring this fireplace provides a strong focal point to the room. The fireplace is photographed in Creeton Hard White limestone, with Stovax Belgravia slips and Art Deco fire basket sat on a honed black granite hearth. J. Rotherham have trained hundreds of masons over the history of the company, and many of our most reliable and talented team members, having been trained directly by Joe Rotherham Snr, are still with us today after decades of service. Traditional stone working techniques form an essential process in the creation of each of our fireplace designs. The use of artistic ability, good design and an excellence of execution is a feature of all our work, whether this is a unique hand carving, measuring the correct proportions, or truing in the moulding details across different pieces of the fireplace.
Alternative Flooring Category: Flooring Product: Quirky Collection Quirky by name and quirky by nature, this fashionable collection of Wilton carpet runners takes its cue from true Brit style. An on trend range packed with pattern, full of colour, designed with bravado and boasting mix of styles - Dotty, Tess, Fling and Skinny. A Quirky collection of runners designed to bring pattern and colours and a spot of fun to brighten up our floors. Celebrating pattern and colour and to show that traditional British crafts can be used to make contemporary design and to bring fun to our floors! A range of four distinct designs created in a practical scale and in a great palette to suit classic and contemporary spaces. The four designs take inspiration from the catwalk. Dotty (a retro hot spot), Fling (a witty plaid), Tess (a modern geometric) and Skinny (a wild faux skin). Colours range from the brights of zingy Lime and Pink, the elegant Duck Egg and rich Damson to the classics of Black, Grey and Natural. Alternative Flooring is passionate about floors. It loves to be natural but dares to be different. Inspired by true British style Quirky is a fashionable range of runners that really lives up to its name.
Baker Category: Lighting - Table / Floor Lamp Product: Signature Table Submitted by: Baker (The Bill Sofield Collection) This design was inspired by the colorful movement of a personal signature. While custom cast brass captures that sense of artistic whimsy, the texture offers a rugged hammered and rasped look. The finial has the same hammered and rasped look, and it continues the curved form of the base. The shade is Ivory Chinette. The base is a sculptural platform, a recessed plinth.

Be Inthavong for Fameed Khalique Category: Fabric Product: Leather and Silk Weave from Be Inthavong Be Inthavong LLC are exclusively featuring a special leather and silk fabric pattern for Calvin Klein’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Be Inthavong is the Creative Director and Designer of Be Inthavong LLC. The unique patent-pending technique of weaving leather and silk was created by Inthavong in 2009 at his family’s silk mill in Vientiane, Laos. Inthavong challenged the perceived limitations of the indigenous process that has existed for over 500 years. He sought to improve and evolve the discipline, using as inspiration the world of leather goods he came from. Thus began the painstaking practice of using rare Laotian weaving techniques to take finely cut micro-strips of leather and handlooming them into silk looms. The silks are 100% naturally dyed using the Laotian craft of organic dyes. The results of the signature leather and silk weaves are breathtaking with the combination of colors, textures, touch, construction and fluidity of this new material. Within each new collection, Inthavong will continue to create new designs along the lines of the Laotian silk looms heritage craft by weaving leathers with other intriguing materials.
The Light Corporation Category: Lighting - Scheme Project: Sonning Submitted by: The Light Corporation The understanding client gave total freedom to the Architect (Gregory Phillips) and The Light Corporation’s Tim Henderson to fully integrate the lighting design around the architecture of the building and the surrounding landscape gardens, forging a true marriage of form and light. Naturally, Tim had a large number of products from The Light Corporation standard range at his disposal, other specialist lighting manufacturers to source from and a bespoke product design department at TLC HQ dedicated to creating high quality, hand built products for this project’s unique lighting design. A key feature of this home is the glass panels that make up the large open window areas around the house, providing high levels of natural daylight, making interior lighting an important consideration to fit in with the design of the building. Tim was also keen to utilise the reflective nature of outdoor ponds and swimming pools where possible in the scheme to add dynamism and depth to the lighting around them, ensuring that these watery features would not go un-noticed by the clients and visitors alike.
Cochrane Design (designed by Sean Cochrane) Category: Sofa Product: Eaton Chaise Dimensions: W 1600mm D 600mm H 700mm The Eaton Chaise Lounge perfectly treads the line between modern and classic style. The elegant scroll back, exquisite piping detail and dark wood plinth together with the luxurious velvet upholstery combine to create a well-considered piece suited to both classic and contemporary interiors. Made from oak veneers and solids, finished in a rich, deep wenge lacquer stain, with padded interior for indulgent comfort. The Easton Chaise is shown here in Warwick Dolce Elegance.

Gorman Studios for Fameed Khalique Category: Wallcovering Product: Verre Eglomise artwork panels from Gorman Studios Inc. Submitted by: Fameed Khalique Eglomise (as it is generally referred to in the design industry today) is generally thought to have been used primarily as borders and inset medallions since the Italian and English Baroque periods. However; Verre Eglomise or Reverse Painted glass as a decorative feature has been used since it’s genesis in the early Syrian empires, BC; and has been re-interpreted in almost every century through to the 1900s. With the 20th century’s use of manufactured glass, Eglomise was used in the Art Deco and mid-Century Moderne eras as bordered mirrors and incorporated with carved and cut glass. As a wall-covering it has had a major resurgence in the past decade; thanks in part to the work done by Gorman Studios. Panel sizes have been produced by GSI as large as 3.4m x 2m that create entire elevations as single pieces of glass vs. the segmented panels required previously. Gorman Studios’ Eglomise Collections range from the traditional Illustrated Reverse Painted techniques to their interpretation of Oriental Lacquers using a custom painting system they have developed to push the boundaries to contemporary interpretations of patterns and techniques which emulate textiles, textures and cut crystal. Gorman Studios is currently researching and working on publishing a full-colour book showcasing their projects and the importance of Eglomise as a decorative art throughout Western and Near Eastern history.
Mark Humphrey Project: Final Encore Category: Bespoke Installation Inspiration: The ‘staircase’ element of my sculpture has been inspired by the stage. The influence of sweeping fabric folds, swooping lines of the stage curtains and the performing actors, lined up holding hands taking their final encore bow. The inspiration for the ‘memorial’ element of the art piece, is from theatrical actors, directors and plays performing at 12 Palace Street, since the rebuilding of the theatre in 1923, to the new launch June 2012 including the opening play and future plays. A memorial to the St James Theatres achievements, documenting the story and legacy as it becomes one of London’s best theatres. The marble memorial sculpture will be a statement of pride and a symbol to the St James development as it takes its place in theatrical history. Design Brief: Client Requirements: I would like to confirm that we are interested in the design of an “eye-popping” staircase (public art). The staircase would rise from the foyer of the theatre to the first floor where a formal restaurant is situated for 60 covers. The bar on the ground floor is adjacent to the foyer and will hold around 100 persons. The exterior wall to the building is built of glass, so whatever you design probably has to be transparent to fit in with the overall design of the building. A concept for a “Piece of Art” in the form of an architectural staircase in the foyer leading to the first floor restaurant. We would like something fairly classic in line with the style of the building and in keeping with the style of the St James Bar & Brassiere on the ground floor. The Studio Theatre/Club in the basement will have to be sleek, classic but with a modern flair as we will use this part of the venue for TV shows, cabaret, music and a theatre bar. The concept must be practical bearing in mind that we will have up to 300 people flooding into the foyer each day.

“It is always great to be challenged with your work, and with such a large volume of space, this was one of the most interesting challenges that we have been faced with”. The challenge Karen Howes of Howes & Rigby is referring to here is St. Saviours House, winner at the International Design & Architecture Awards 2013 in the eagerly anticipated ‘Residential £20 Million plus’ category. An 11,000sqft house in the heart of Knightsbridge, this house was designed for a private client to the highest specification by design company Howes & Rigby. The company itself is a ground-breaking partnership between international awardwinning interior design practice, Taylor Howes, and leading property developers, Rigby & Rigby. The CEO of Taylor Howes, Karen Howes, and the CEO of Rigby & Rigby, Steve Rigby, both agree that this partnership offers clients unrivalled design experience. Catering for the burgeoning HNWI (high net work individual) market in London, clients will be able to entrust Howes & Rigby with every detail of their property journey, from acquisition and planning, to design and build. Each stage will be dealt with by an in-house team, from locating a suitable property, down to the plumbing and joinery, making it a unique enterprise in the London luxury market. “There is nothing better than watching the pieces of the puzzle, seen through from start to finish, coming together to create such a spectacular result”, Steve remarks. “This project was also a great chance to be able to use a large number of specialist finishes and be more experimental with our designs”. When Howes & Rigby initially acquired the Knightsbridge property for a client it was originally 8,600sqft and had been severely compromised by a somewhat haphazard conversion in the early 1990’s. The team knew, however, that it could be re-developed and totally re-designed to fulfil their client’s own specification. The property has since grown by some 3,000sqft due to the
26 Design Et Al
acquisition and excavation of a neighbouring mews house, which also provides three offstreet parking spaces. The accommodation in the mews house, that now connects to the main residence, provides three large bedroom suites and a large gymnasium in the basement, complete with interconnecting sauna, steam room, shower rooms, a separate treatment room and a juice bar. Steve explains, “for this project, the client was looking for a retreat-come-resort feel – at once opulent but also practical for a family with four children”. As such, the brief and budget were uncompromising. “The £300,000 circular glass elevator ascends to a roof terrace on the second storey, which is situated next to a fabulous teenager’s bedroom suite with a loft-like study above.” There are three further suites in the main house, including a sumptuously serene master bedroom. There are no fewer than 32 screens throughout the property including a curving ‘nine-in-one’ set up in the media room. As a full turnkey scheme, the property has been dressed down to the bed linen. Of the project, completed in October 2012, Karen comments, “we are pleased to be able to say that we completely met the client brief in keeping a calm but luxurious environment; a safe haven away from the hustle and bustle that is found in the heart of London. The client wanted a boutique hotel home in the heart of Knightsbridge and they are absolutely thrilled with the result!” For Howes & Rigby, The International Design & Architecture Awards are a great way to showcase their work as Karen explains, “it is always great to receive recognition within your industry for your work, particularly when it is something that you have worked so hard on and are very proud of. It is great for the team to know that their projects are being put forward for awards and that their passion and hard work is being acknowledged by others outside of the company”.

Honky achieved double success in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2013 with both of their winning projects located in the new Trafalgar One development, overlooking London’s most famous square. Their Lateral Apartment won the ‘Residential £2.5 - 5 Million plus’ category whilst the Penthouse Apartment was successful in the ‘Residential £10 Million plus’ award. Both apartments have been created within the shell of the historic Canadian Pacific building, directly overlooking Nelson’s Column and the National Gallery, the only residential properties in London with a Trafalgar Square address. The bespoke development, by London developer BMB, includes four lateral apartments and one duplex apartment- the Penthouse. This Penthouse apartment is set over two floors and is one of the most remarkable property locations in London, ideally located for the theatre district, opera, galleries and restaurants as well as the rest of the city.
“ unlike the Lateral apartments, the penthouse provides the ultimate party pad ”
The design consultancy, Honky, was set up in 2001 by Christopher Dezille, who has worked in interior design for over 15 years and has achieved great success in the industry. Starting with the ‘International Property Awards Best Contemporary Apartment’ in 1999, Chris added to his achievements in 2001, winning Best New Designer in Practice and Best Contemporary Residential Interior at the Design & Decoration Awards. Since 2002, Honky’s work has been published every year in the Andrew Martin Review “Featuring the World’s Leading Designers”. For this project, the design needed to give the Penthouse apartment some differentiation between the Lateral apartment downstairs. In order to achieve this, the client requested some more colour, but wanted to maintain the Honky tonal design and sophisticated colour schemes familiar in their work. Chris comments, “unlike the Lateral apartments, the penthouse provides the
34 Design Et Al
ultimate party pad”. The hallway/entrance area invites one in from direct lift arrival opening straight into the apartment. Light flow is maximized once again with large windows on both sides and a skylight atrium above the staircase. Bespoke elements in this apartment include a slatted timber partition in the hallway/ entrance area. Chris explains, “this is simply to act as a separation between entrance and formal living areas while maintaining transparency without using translucent materials.” Small gaps in-between vertical profiles filter natural light and provide visible references of the living area and exterior view as one enters the apartment from the elevator. Flashes of artificial light also filter through the tops of the profiles across the ceiling and floor on both sides. Hand picked stones line the bathrooms while hand woven carpets cover bedroom floors. Dark stained oak joinery elements and detailing run throughout the whole space with concealed, warm white lighting details. Introducing dark bronzes and tonally contrasting fabrics maintain the sophistication and elegance while visually brightening the scheme. As a duplex, the apartment includes two large reception rooms, one facing St James’ Park, the other, the kitchen/breakfast and living room, facing Trafalgar Square itself. In addition to these rooms, there is also a study area and four bedrooms. Living areas including the study area are located on the lower level while on the upper level are two bedrooms, the guest suite and the master suite. In order to fully appreciate some of the best views of London, the apartment has not one, but two terraces, one on each floor, with the south terrace boasting the best views of Trafalgar Square. With all of his projects Chris infuses creativity, professional expertise, perfection and refinement, and this award-winning penthouse is certainly no exception.

Joanna Wood set up as an Interior Designer nearly 30 years ago and is now recognised as one of Britain’s leading figures in the international world of Interior Design, heading up a group of six design-related companies. Winner of the ‘Residential £20 million plus’ award in 2012, Joanna was this year successful in the ‘Residential £1-2.5 million’ category at the International Design & Architecture Awards 2013, with a luxury residential development in London by Capital & Counties Properties Plc announced as the winning project. Joanna comments, “it is an honour and a privilege to be shortlisted for the awards. The awards are particularly special to me, as they are voted for by my peers within the industry.” Joanna set up the Joanna Trading offices in Battersea in 1982 before moving to Milner Street and eventually Pimlico Road where she works from now. Joanna Trading offers a total design service, fully committed to architectural as well as interior design. Her talent for creating elegant rooms combining British and European traditional and contemporary styles draws clients from all over the world. With each client, furniture, colour schemes and fabrics are carefully chosen to reflect the individual’s taste. Joanna explains exactly what her vision was when designing this Covent Garden penthouse, completed in April 2013. “I wanted to create the impression that you could be in a Parisian apartment or somewhere in Rome or Vienna…you’d feel comfortable in a historic residence at the heart of a great European city, where of course you are.” Indeed, the location of the property on the Piazza in Covent Garden is sensational. Joanna continues, “you have the bustle of café society below, with the restaurants and shops, mixed with the culture of the Royal Opera House next door where you can see the dancers practising from the apartment.” The brief was to create a stylish luxurious penthouse which evoked a subtle grandeur, tailored towards modern living that is both practical yet comfortable. One of the reasons the design works so well is because the penthouse consists of large spacious rooms with fantastic proportions, including an entire floor devoted to entertaining. The
42 Design Et Al
apartment is perfect for both a cosy weekend for two or for having lots of guests round for a dinner party. The Joanna Wood shop itself provided many of the accessories for this project, including the telescope and fountain on the terrace. The shop sells an extensive range of contemporary and traditional interior design accessories and gifts. Joanna actively takes part in the sourcing of products from small independent suppliers in England to far flung countries around the world. She has a keen eye for the unusual and strives to present pleasurable, tactile gifts and accessories in a friendly and welcoming shopping environment. The shop features lighting, accessories and furniture for contemporary and traditional homes and an abundance of gift ideas to inspire your imagination and presents that survive the test of time. Joanna Trading has an impressive private and commercial client list and commissions are as diverse as they are versatile. Worldwide projects include professional golfer, Ernie Els’ house at Wentworth, a thatched folly on a lake in Gloucestershire, a Christopher Wren Pavilion at Hampton Court, the largest triplex Penthouse in London, an old bastide in an olive grove outside Cannes and a house in the Hamptons. Joanna was also commissioned to interior design highly luxurious flats in The Knightsbridge, the most expensive development project ever undertaken in London. More quirky projects include the interior deign of an aeroplane, a Rolls Royce and a horsebox. Many of Joanna’s clients are establishment figures and a number are celebrities. These have included John Reid, Nigel & Polly Havers, Denise O’Donoghue and Jim Henson. Joanna’s teams of designers often fly all over the world and in 1993 she set up a very successful office in Paris. Due to the increasing number of commercial projects, Joanna Wood (Commercial) Ltd was set up in 1995. JW (Com.) Ltd has an impressive list of clients including Duke’s Hotel, St James, together with a list of ongoing clients with whom Joanna has worked over a number of years. These include The Grosvenor Estate, Kvaerner, Taylor Woodrow, London & Edinburgh Trust, P&O Development and Speyhawk. With the design company currently working on a number of projects, we look forward to seeing what Joanna Wood and the Joanna Trading team have in store for 2014.

Sean Cochrane is an award winning Interior Designer and creative director of the interior architectural and design practice, Cochrane Design. It is his vision, meticulous attention to detail and exacting standards that are the driving force of the company. Cochrane Design is a leading design practice specialising in exclusive properties. All aspects of architecture, co-ordination, construction, interior design and dressing are personally handled, with the practice undertaking projects for private and commercial clients from concept through to completion. Through careful consideration of the client brief, the experienced team achieve astounding results. Cochrane Design are now three-time consecutive winners at the International Design & Architecture Awards, having won in 2011 in the ‘Residential £2.5- 5 million’ category and now in the ‘Kitchen Design over £25,000’ category in both 2012 and 2013. The design practice won their latest award with their Victorian Townhouse Kitchen, completed in London at the beginning of 2013. The brief was to create a kitchen that is functional, great for socialising and that also has a timeless elegance. The client wanted the space to feel uncluttered when not in use and to be as welcoming and relaxing as the other living spaces throughout the house. “The starting point for the design was to open up the lower ground floor,” Sean explains, “from here we were able to take advantage of the double aspect and generous proportions. This change to the layout was integral in creating the right atmosphere for entertaining on a large scale.” Beneath the bespoke panelling and cabinetry lies the beating heart of a kitchen that would satisfy even the most demanding chefs. Tellingly the only appliances on display are the Wolf oven and hob, everything else is hidden in order not to detract from the aesthetic of the room. Sean comments, “It is these details that have created a space that has an intimacy and inviting calmness not
60 Design Et Al
often associated with a kitchen.” The panelled walls and doors hide a large fridge freezer and stacked laundry system as well as a secret toilet which is beautifully presented and every bit as luxurious as the rest of the property. The classic panelling runs throughout the house creating continuity and a seamless transition between spaces. Colour has been used with great effect to break up the space. This also helps minimise the scale of the kitchen and designates different zones. At one end of the kitchen the space is dedicated to a stunning island with a sleek, thick Carrara marble work top and breakfast bar. Together with the floating shelves opposite these accentuate the balance that has been struck here between a contemporary and traditional aesthetic. At the other end of the kitchen, a continuation of the fantastic floor to ceiling storage draws you into a relaxed, inviting area. Arguably the best seat in the house, a rich velvet sofa sat in the bay window is the perfect place for relaxing with a cocktail and soaking up the atmosphere of the party. Whether alone or entertaining this kitchen has been designed to be an inviting and versatile space. The original requirements have been central to the thought process and the final outcome is a true collaboration between designer and client. Having entered and won the International Design & Architecture Awards three years in a row, Sean explains why the awards are important to his design practice. “Design Awards are a useful PR tool and highly important in promoting a designer’s talents. Recognition and respect is gained from peers and this type of exposure opens doors to a wide and strong client base.” Sean is currently undertaking a range of projects whilst continuing to progress both his furniture line, Furniture by Sean Cochrane, and his collaboration with Meg Matthews on all of her interior and fashion collections, S&M Interiors.

We all appreciate the importance from both a functional and design perspective of the kitchen within our homes. It is undoubtedly the heart of every home, or at least it should be. In recent decades we have broken down its’ boundaries, elevated its’ status to one of living space and expanded its’ horizons so that it has a multi functional purpose by extending its’ boundaries into our exterior space – during the warmer months at least. A more open plan living area, that is both functional and beautiful is truly what we demand from our kitchens, a concept that at design et al we think it is so important that a couple of years ago we created an annual award for it. There are now two Kitchen Awards as part of The International Design & Architecture Awards and here are just a few of the short listed projects for 2014. It is not too late to apply, applications for 2014 have only just opened, for more details you can contact us directly at: kitchenawards@design-et-al.co.uk
This hand painted, solid wood kitchen is like a fresh spring morning with its light colour scheme and touches of white stained oak. The kitchen is completely bespoke, and is handcrafted in Sweden to the exact specifications of the client, using only the very best materials. The cabinetry is made of solid wood, the doors are solid ash that has been hand painted on site and all the interior and wood drawers are made in white stained oak which adds to the luxurious feel of the kitchen. The original kitchen was dark and cramped and the client’s brief was to create a light and spacious kitchen with plenty of storage and workspace for the whole family. The main design issue was a large pillar in the middle of the room, which could not be moved. The designers came up with the idea
to incorporate the pillar in the island and built the island partly around it so that it became an integrated part of the breakfast bar area rather than a freestanding pillar. The client also needed a desk area with additional storage in the adjacent living room. Sola Kitchens designed a spacious desk space in the same range as the kitchen but painted in a slightly different colour to make the distinction between the two rooms. The fact that the kitchen is now feeling so light and fresh, and also the beautiful colour scheme of the white/ blue and the whitestained solid oak details in the drawers and trays. The kitchen feels so much larger and more spacious and at the same time having more storage and workspace. Design Et Al 63
Sola Kitchens Wimbledon project shortlisted in the Kitchen over £50,000 The kitchen is completely bespoke, and handcrafted in solid wood in Sweden to the exact specifications of the client. The client’s specification was to have a classic kitchen with a modern twist. The layout with three parallel runs of units, in combination with modern appliances and choice of worktops, creates a modern feel to the kitchen despite the choice of quite traditional furniture. The family also wanted plenty of storage and workspace as well as a large seating area at the island. The family has three children and entertain a lot so they wanted a very sociable place. To make the 4.5 meter long island feel lighter we lifted it up on legs and added led lights underneath. We used different worktop material on the island, a marble effect composite on the work area and white stained solid oak for the bar area. We did the oak thicker than the rest of the worktop to create a natural divide between the workspace and dining space. The kitchen is painted in two different shades of grey, a light grey for the sink run and tall units and a very dark grey shade for the island. The stools with grey sheepskin are painted in the lighter of the two grey shades. The green walls in combination with the black and gold lamps over the island and the dining table gives a calm and serene feel to the kitchen.
Boscolo shortlisted for the Kitchen over £25,000 with their project in Upper Park The scope of the project was a complete renovation of the interior in order to bring it up to date and meet the client’s specific requirements. The client has a large extended family living locally and they entertain guests visiting formally and informally on a regular basis with dinner parties. As such the kitchen was a focal point for the brief. The designers are particularly proud of their achievement in responding to the spiritual nature of their clients. They were under strict instructions to avoid using any fabrics and products derived from animal products e.g. leather & ivory. Every item had to be checked

with the suppliers to ensure that they complied with their clients’ request. Further to this, the design focused on an understated theme throughout with the use of a calm colour palette and tactile surfaces that were reminiscent of nature, avoiding any loud colours and patterns. A glass breakfast bar was specified to give the impression of greater space whilst still serving its core function. Two identical drop pendent lights designed by Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere for Foscarini highlight the central line of the room and provided symmetry and a sense of balance upon entering the space and the use of large floor tiles enabled the designers to reduce the number of distracting functional grout lines allowing a cleaner finish and drawing the eye to the detail of the surface itself.

During my 3 years at university I freelanced with the Ralph Lauren creative team on window dressing and assisted with the coordination and maintenance of the seasonal home collections. During this time I learnt the importance of attention to detail and perfected the art of presenting different themes to a high end, luxury consumer. In July 2005 I become permanent employee at Ralph Lauren as Home Collection Coordinator for Europe where I was responsible for the coordination of introducing the new home collections to the European Flagship stores including, London Bond St; London Brompton X; Milan and Brussels; This took a great deal of experience and enhanced my skills of organization and forward planning and gave me useful insight into the ‘life cycle’ of a home collection. In October 2007, I left Ralph Lauren and I started solo creating my company Maurizio Pellizzoni Design.

The client had restricted space and budget to work with, so any solution needed to rely on layout and lighting for impact rather than expensive components. The brief from the client was to create a high impact, nightclub, inspired bathroom that facilitates a master suite. There was an unused en-suite on the same floor and so potential lay in knocking the two together and creating a walk-in wardrobe from the extra bedroom. This would place the bathroom at the hub of their own Master Suite floor. After surveying the spaces

however a large amount of service pipes for the home were discovered so any proposed solution would need to design around these. Whilst the planting and lighting are sensational, the introduction of the mid height Corian wall / mirrored cabinet area is a key aspect of the project as it holds everything together – carefully hiding services pipes in its columns at either side it also allows for plumbing runs between all areas, hiding mounting frames and providing for a unique cocktail bar style colour changing up lit countertop in opaque Corian. The huge amount of mirrored cabinets provide for lots of storage whilst also disguising that the wall runs out along this length (which we needed at the other end to ensure the bath could be fitted!)
The interior of the Nobu Hotel lobby is covered in wood creating a simple, yet dramatic single gesture that defines the entire space. The walls and ceilings are comprised of custom wood blocks made from fir, hemlock and oak, in random and irregular shapes, sizes and colors. The walls also feature backlit onyx panels that extend from the floor to the ceiling. For the guest rooms, which occupy 10 floors above the restaurant, Rockwell Group incorporated Nobu’s “truth-to-materials” aesthetic into forms that accommodate the Nobu Hotel guests’ expectations of comfort and modernity. Raw, natural materials in neutral tones are juxtaposed with hints of purple and unexpected, bold graphics representing traditional and contemporary Japanese forms. The guest room corridors feature a custom designed carpet with beige tones inspired by a Japanese Zen garden.

Creating a personal sanctuary space for the clients was possible due to the large size of the bathroom and it was decided that this should be located with views from the windows of the grounds. Privacy however still needed to be considered and both shower and WC should not be overlooked. Product storage was also critical. The design is impressive with all elements such as the grey glass selected to match in with the rest of the home. Its spatial layout allows for privacy and much more from the space than had we treated it as a ‘bathroom’. The Sanctuary Space gives the client a special space for themselves which, when combined with the drinks and fridge area provides a unique solution to helping them unwind.

Winner at the International Design & Architecture Awards in 2010, Honky were successful in not one but two categories in this year’s 2013 awards, taking home awards for the ‘Residential £2.5-5 Million’ and the ‘Residential £10 Million plus’ categories. Honky have enjoyed a rewarding 12 years of interior design, with these latest two awards adding to an impressive list of accolades. The majority of Honky’s work is focused in central London but Christopher Dezille, founder of the design consultancy, has undertaken both private and commercial projects in the UK and internationally. At this year’s awards ceremony, it was their ‘Lateral Apartment - Trafalgar One’ which was crowned the winning entry in the ‘Residential £2.5-5 Million category’. The project was part of a bespoke development by London developer BMB. Set in one of the most enviable locations in the city, the four lateral apartments and one duplex apartment in this new development are the only residential properties in London with a Trafalgar Square address. The design brief for this project was for the Trafalgar One apartment to be created within the shell of a landmark period building, but it needed designing without compromise to facilitate the lifestyle expectations of today’s most discerning buyers. This meant it needed to be detail perfect. Honky’s task then was to design and create a space around this description with careful consideration of the budget and time constraints. This apartment, completed in July 2012, has been created within the structure of the historic Canadian Pacific building, directly overlooking Nelson’s Column and the National Gallery. Superbly laid out, with each apartment occupying an entire floor
of the building; this property boasts high coffered ceilings with recessed lighting, solid wood floors with under floor heating, marble bathrooms, acoustically designed windows and state of the art security systems. Overlooking London’s most famous square, with views of The Mall and Buckingham Palace, this project by Honky was the first of the new Trafalgar One apartments to be designed. In such a prestigious location, the project needed to have an extreme wow factor on entry and within its spaces. Honky’s design approach wanted to offer sophisticated and luxury living with an understated effect. Quality finish combinations needed careful consideration. From wallpapers to wine glasses, the colours and textures needed to complement one another. The result is a design which is both classic and elegant. The Client wanted to offer an open plan living solution throughout the main space and completely privatised bedrooms and bathrooms with plenty of in-between space. Chris comments that the reason the interior works so well is because of the design of this space. “The open plan living solution offers maximum light flow with the opportunity for separation into three zones using concealed sliding partitions. A multi-optional living area that appeals to many buyers.” No stranger to the International Design & Architecture Awards, Chris also explains why Honky feel these awards are significant. “The awards are important as they offer exactly what Honky need in order to stay connected and inspired. With a large number of categories to apply for, many opportunities arise, increasing Honky’s hunger for showcasing their quality, well-designed interiors.”

The Design Practice by UBER is one of the UK’s foremost interior design agencies. It specialises in high-end residential interior architecture and design and has won multiple international awards since it’s inception in 2009. It’s projects range from international grand residencies to local room make-overs. UBER are not only an acclaimed Interior Design Practice, but a collective group of companies offering an unrivalled suite of design services. The Design Practice has an insight into the hot collections of the interiors industry; they know how to add value, giving a competitive – as well as aesthetic – edge.
Once the team had softened the bar area with tactile materials such as cowhide ‘s’ shaped benches and wallpaper, the ambiance called for some dramatic feature lights (as well as task spots) to allure the eye between the spaces and link the two, without being a complete distraction from the open cinema.
The Design Practice by UBER have been winners every year at the International Design & Architecture Awards since the awards began in 2010. Director Jim Evans comments, “these highly prestigious awards are a phenomenal way of recognising and promoting talented young companies alongside much respected and established peers.”
The home automation specialist set about installing a discrete state-of-the-art system, with 7.2 surround and equalisers, that delivers optimal sound quality according to where the clients sit in the room. The projector was upgraded to a 3D 1-chip HD projector which is future-proofed to progress up to full 3D as and when the client chooses.
The design brief for this project, winner in the ‘Home Cinema’ category of the 2013 awards, was to update and unite an underused bar and cinema space, converting it into an envious, moody club feel with the latest discrete technology. Jim explains, “the young client had installed a cinema system as an early adopter in the very early days but they recognised that not only had the technology and audio moved on considerably, but the interface was so complex and un-user friendly, they had lost the will to bother with it.” The lady of the house also found the room too dark, plain and uninspiring with a separate bar area that was underused due to lack of an inviting atmosphere. More lighting was requested but not at the cost of altering the darker mood. Rather than a complete overhaul, the team were to retain as many elements as possible to cohesively bring the spaces together, allowing the bar to overspill into the cinema and vice versa.
84 Design Et Al
There was a redesign of the cinema area to incorporate the hidden speaker and systems, all finished in a wonderful crushed velvet, that refracts the colours from the projected movie, and completed with hand finished metal wall lights and a lush black wool carpet.
Of the system itself Jim remarks, “it is as neat as it is impressive.” As well as the concealed speakers, the system units were built into a wall cavity and hidden from view behind a wall panel. The redesign of the adjoining bar space, incorporating new task lighting and feature drop lights, allows the eye to be intrigued with the space beyond from either side. The use of similar textures and materials throughout allows the look to flow through to the cinema incorporating individual reclined double seating, cinemastyle in two rows of three. The team also addressed the all-important interface, which is now driven from an iPad that the whole family uses effortlessly. The result is something of a transformation. Jim remarks, “the clients and their friends have been blown away - almost literally by the quality and power of the system. They are also delighted by its ease of use, and revel with their guests in the stunning look and feel of the room. Actually, make that ‘auditorium’.

Kelly’s ever-evolving style is underpinned by a subtly coordinated fusion of East meets West; clean lines and neutral tones, blended with charming warmth and sumptuous opulence, a style which is evident in the design of Pearl 75.
The brief was to design a yacht that was totally unique to the market in order to redefine Pearl’s position at the forefront of innovative yacht design. The brief included a unique propulsion system, an exclusive interior design and a host of unique features in order to create more space than any of its competitors. The new Pearl 75 is the largest of the Pearl fleet, offering owners 4 luxuriously appointed staterooms and a unique open plan galley, lower helm and seating area sheltered under a conservatory-style glass roof. The technical systems of the boat are also stateof-the-art as you would expect. Externally a Jet Ski garage and a hydraulic bathing platform mean owners can carry a jet ski and tender without the need to take up valuable flybridge space. Iain explains, “the Pearl 75 brings new levels of style and sophistication to this sector of the motor yacht market. Bill Dixon’s sleek external lines perfectly complement Kelly Hoppen’s classy, contemporary interior design. Externally the huge flybridge remains free of clutter thanks to the clever design which incorporates a garage and hydraulic platform. The interior instills a feeling of sanctuary underpinned by Kelly’s East meets West philosophy. Kelly’s design ethos of balance, sophisticated use of texture and trademark neutral colour scheme is therefore featured throughout the Pearl 75.” The Pearl 75 also boasts the ZF series 4000 pod-drive propulsion system incorporating joystick control technology. This offers the owner joystick manoeuvrability and the option of operating the yacht without crew if preferred. Powered by twin MTU 1250 HPs engines, the Pearl 75 can navigate comfortably at a cruising speed of 25 knots and a top speed of 30 knots. With its gracious exterior lines, luxurious interior style and technological innovations, both Pearl Motor Yachts and Kelly Hoppen are extremely proud to be able to launch a vessel that really is ground-breaking. Commenting on the win, Kelly remarks, “winning this prestigious award is an incredible honour. It is a testament to the fact that we have created a unique and class-leading interior that not only mirrors Pearl’s unrivalled quality and exhilarating performance, but also reaffirms their position at the forefront of innovative yacht design.”

“Originality, quality, value”. These are the words Jonny Horsfield, owner and design director of H2 Yacht Design, used when asked which key themes to consider when approaching design in 2013 and beyond. Established in London in the UK in early 1994, H2 have since built an enviable reputation for being the refit design experts amongst the yacht community and are now also involved in exclusive residential projects. With Jonny’s key themes in mind, we talked to the owner and design director to find out more about H2 Yacht design’s most recent project, ‘MY VICKY’. Handed over to H2 in July 2012 after a 2.5 year build, Jonny tells us how “The existing design was very classic and too conservative as the client was looking for a more modern, sleek look, along with some very unique interior features”. Further to this, we learn more about both the interior and exterior design of ‘MY VICKY’. 72.6 meter Vicky was developed based on her sister Talisman’s well-proven platform in terms of hull and performance, but superstructure is specifically designed for the owner from scratch. “The owners’ requirements were for a multi-functioning yacht, with a definite wow factor combined with total dedication to him and his guests comfort and facilities”, says Jonny. The idea was to create very large entertainment areas and a master suite with increased ceiling heights, which cannot be easily found on most existing yachts of this size. The end result was the recreational Spa area over a 100 square meters, an owner’s suite about 110 square meters, VIP cabins with over 2.5 meter high ceilings and the main saloon featuring the atrium with 6 meter ceiling height. “Being only a three deck yacht allows for a sleeker look as well as an extremely large sundeck which was the main requirement from the owner”, Jonny tells us. With this idea in mind a very large sundeck, having an overall open length of 35 meters was also provided, giving the possibility to the guests for enjoying a large heated Jacuzzi/pool decorated with mosaics. The yard worked out a new fore deck arrangement to accommodate a helicopter landing platform by raising the bulwark profile; a working area provided with catwalks to walk around the floating tender bays, and also a mooring deck with an enormous bosun’s store below, which were also all aesthetically pleasing at the end. The hull lines, which were also used on the sister vessel, once again resulted in a fuel efficient, fast and extremely sea worthy yacht. Although her increased gross tonnage, with over 200,000 liter fuel capacity a range of over 7000 miles is still achievable and
over 5000 miles at 15-knot cruising speed. During sea trials Vicky achieved a maximum speed of 17,8 knots. A further improvement compared to her sister was the additional electrical power increase of 200 kilowatts by the fourth generator. Two tier engine rooms were already carefully designed by arrangements of platforms over the main engines creating a spacious service area and a large control room directly connected the air conditioned workshop with a separate sound proof generator room with cooling units. Following feedbacks from her sister, now this layout is filtered to an arrangement proving better accessibility and less piping all around. When we asked Jonny more about the interior design of the yacht, he told us in detail about what he calls the “three distinct features”. The first is the full width owner’s suite behind the bridge with its fixed balconies port and starboard, giving a “stunning vista as well as total privacy”. These fixed balconies are a unique H2 design feature. Jonny describes the style of this as, “rich and quite classic with walnut and leather panelling but the furniture is modern and eclectic. The bathroom is an explosion of back lit blue and white onyx”. The second feature is the double height main salon. Whilst this meant losing some floor area above, it was a feature the client wanted from the very beginning, and Jonny describes the end result as a giving a “comforting” light “with the overall feeling of height and space simply unique in a yacht of this size”. The third unique feature Jonny tells us about is the spa area on the lower deck, something Jonny describes as “brave” since on the sister ship this housed four good sized guest cabins. “The style is unashamedly Asian, with teak and limestone giving a warm and tranquil area.” In summary, 72.6 meter Vicky has a modern and sleek look expressed by timeless lines, with spacious atmosphere inside, still having all major features of yard’s proven hull design by being fuel efficient and seaworthy. “Overall”, says Jonny, “I feel proud that we have produced a distinctive yet timeless design with unique feature of owners balconies integrated into the superstructure”. design by being fuel efficient and seaworthy. Jonny is currently working on two 120m projects, an 80m at Blohm and Voss shipyard, a 73m at Nobiskrug, and a 45m and 50m at Bilgin yachts in Turkey. With multiple projects on the go, we asked Jonny how he manages to hold down a career and a life. To this he replied, “For me my work is 75% of my life anyway and it’s a fun and diverse job!”

5 Minutes with Priestman Goode What direction do you feel design is moving towards in general terms? We are seeing increased integration of technology within the design of interior environments. The prominence of smartphones and tablets in the consumer industries means that passengers are looking for the same level of connectivity and flexibility these devices allow them, wherever they are. At Priestmangoode, the majority of our work is in aviation design. One of our focus areas in that industry is working with seat manufacturers and IFE vendors to bridge the gap between products onboard the aircraft and consumer products. What projects are you currently working on? All current projects are confidential, but we are working on exciting branding and interior concepts for many of the world’s leading airlines. A designer’s work is so diverse – how do you manage to hold down a career and a life? Design is one of those industries where the boundaries between work and life are frequently blurred. It isn’t really a question of managing to hold down either, because they often mutually inform one another. Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2013 and beyond. 1. Sustainability is not just about using less, it’s about using smarter 2. Repair, reuse, recyle 3. Champion local industry 4. Think long term collective benefit, not short term personal gain 5. Is ownership the answer? Share, lend, pass on, explore other possibilities. If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be? Look to local culture for inspiration. Too much design today is gentrified.

At Priestmangoode, we don’t have a house style, and this enables us to work for different airlines simultaneously, many of them national carriers, such as TAM Airlines,
Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways etc. In an age where so much design looks the same, we have found that using local culture to inform a scheme can offer great competitive advantage. How important are The International Yacht and Aviation Awards as recognition of talent and achievement? The International Yacht and Aviation Awards provide a benchmark of design excellence in luxury yacht and aviation design. We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the 2013 awards with our First Class cabin design for TAM Airlines. How do you relax? Golf with family and friends, ideally when the sun is shining! What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months? We opened our first overseas office last year in Qingdao, China. There is great market potential for us, particularly within the aviation industry, to help companies use design to improve efficiency and gain competitive advantage. We are looking forward to increasing our presence in that market. Each deck boasts a sumptuous foyer featuring unique combinations of marble and onyx floor inlays. The walls feature elegant burl wall panels, complemented by gold and silver leaf inlays. Each foyer also showcases the central spiral staircase and the cylindrical glass elevator.
Diamonds Are Forever, winner of the prestigious Motor Yacht over 60 metres Award at The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2013, undoubtedly bears that signature. with small crystal studs. The back-lit central design features on each of the freestanding pieces are highlighted by glittering Swarovski crystals set in a polished chrome and gold-plated surround. The dazzling effect instantaneously brings to mind the name of the boat.
When a boat takes her name from a James Bond film, it is perfectly logical to deduce that she must belong to John Staluppi. The legendary American shipowner is a long-time fan of the Bond saga and naming his boats after the films has become something of a personal signature.
Officially Benetti FB253, Diamonds Are Forever represents a timeless approach to exterior styling, marked out by softly compact shapes and dynamically slim lines. The iconic Italian shipyard’s naval architecture and engineering has produced a balanced combination of classic stylistic details and innovative design solutions. The stand-out example of this is the motor yacht’s additional top deck, or rather a unique fly bridge located above the sun deck, which forms a remarkable panoramic private deck. This space can be completely cut off from all routes and areas accessible to guests and crew, as it can only be reached via controlled access from the main staircase and the central elevator. In the light of making Diamonds Are Forever an ultra successful charter yacht, the brief demanded a layout that would provide maximum guest satisfaction in terms of space, services and comfort. As a result, her spacious interior layout comprises two panoramic master suites and four guest staterooms, a guest elevator to all decks, a full beam sky lounge and vast open and shaded deck spaces. She accommodates up to 12 passengers, in addition to housing up to 16 crew members in six snug crew cabins, a comfortable engineer’s cabin and the large captain’s cabin. The impeccably refined onboard interior scheme, the work of London-based Evan K. Marshall / Usonia V, truly brings Diamonds Are Forever into a class of her own. The completely custom interior utilises only the finest of materials, showcasing the greatest attention to detail and achieving maximum visual impact. In a departure from typical yacht furnishings, the main pieces of furniture inboard of the windows appear to be free-standing and supported only by mirrored legs embedded
The staterooms feature the same luxurious materials, in addition to beautiful motherof-pearl detailing and custom coloured embossed leathers. The VIP master stateroom is on the main deck in the VIP suite, featuring a split-level layout, his and hers walk-in dressing rooms, an exercise room with adjoining sauna and a beauty salon with massage table. Throughout the interior decorative glass panels and doors are featured, produced by the Dutch company Marieux and inspired by designs produced by Evan K. Marshall. The Owners’ master stateroom is on the upper deck in the Owners’ apartment, which occupies half of the upper deck and includes an office suite connected to the sky lounge, a master bathroom with “floating” vanities suspended from mirrored walls, and a dressing room that doubles as an elegant Owners’ foyer or a private study. Demonstrating the very highest level of attention to detail, the styling ensures that every possible Owners’ need has been catered for. The living area of the sky lounge occupies the full beam of the boat: this space boasts a low bar and a grand piano, again set in mixed tones of Birch burl woods with silver and gold leaf accents. The sky lounge also features four original sculptures of the great Erté, pseudonym of Romain de Tirtoff, the last great master of Art Nouveau and Art Déco. Sculpture is another great passion of Staluppi’s and these limited edition pieces are artfully displayed within the four niched corners of the room. Boasting a maximum speed of 16 knots and an oceanic range of 4,800 nautical miles at 12 knots, she has proved to be a remarkably successful charter yacht thus far. Moreover, with her sophisticated exterior styling and breathtakingly refined interior, Diamonds Are Forever makes for an undeniably worthy winner of one of the most prestigious yacht awards of the year.

We are delighted to announce that Philippe Renaudeau – Weyves Design have been shortlisted for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2014, in the Yacht Concept Design over 50 meters category with their project WCH 55. This 55 meter project is a neoclassical yacht inspire by an artdeco style and timeless theme throughout. For those owners looking for a very exclusive experience, they should feel right at home aboard the WCH 55.
The idea for this project was to come back to the basics of design, respecting the essence of design and finding an adequacy between the shape & function. The entrances of water are fine, demonstrating a reasonable internal volume and moderate displacement. All these elements contribute to make the WCH 55 an original and perennially fashionable ship, while reducing the cost of operation. www.phr-yacht-design.com/

A cruising yacht capable of worldwide voyages for extended periods, sensitive yet powerful under sail and designed to deliver absolute comfort at sea. With an air clearance restricted to 68m (for access to the Suez Canal) and a draft restriction of 5m, the designer was particularly concerned with enhancing efficiency of the sail plan and keel. A Ketch rig was the only suitable option. Mainsail and mizzen sail include roaches that have never before been seen or used on yachts of this size. More surface area of the sails is exposed up where the wind velocity is greater than it is at the proximity of the water. This led to having sails developing a larger driving force than that of conventional triangular sails. Therefore runners are used in instead of permanent backstays. This is another first on a boat of this size, made possible via the technology of mast builders Southern Spars. “Draft is increased to 9.10m by a daggerboard extension. Captive winches and vertical winches are custom made by Alloy Yachts. Under sail she is expected to reach speeds of almost 20 knots in a reach with a true wind speed of 20 knots. Also, with light winds less than 10 knots, she will outperform the existing mega sailing yachts. Under engine power the yacht can reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 12 knots with an estimated range of over 4000 nm.
B/E Aerospace has been shortlisted for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2014 with their long haul economy seat concept entering the Commercial Cabin Interior category. The gap between business and economy class has never been so wide. B/E Aerospace’s concept aims to add glamour, prestige and luxury to intercontinental economy class travel. The design re-imagines a benchmark for comfort, living space and customization. As trade increases between China, the Middle East, Europe and Australia, the demand for intercontinental travel will rise. Airlines with an unrefined main cabin and sophisticated business class create inconsistency in the carrier’s branding. Future forward travel will use economy class seats with optimized space, sumptuous comfort and finishes that harmonize all cabins to create a better experience. www.beaerospace.com

The Visionary design has been created to inspire customers with futuristic cabin interior creation. The Design Studio developed this very unique design approach to illustrate the journey in creating a classic, visionary design concept that may provide a glimpse into the future of cabin interior design.
The Visionary concept replaces strict linear forms with free-flowing ones. Architecture is reduced to a minimum, removing all but the essential furniture elements, themselves not attached to the exterior frame, but having an appearance of being stand-alone constructs within the space. It is often a challenge to be truly innovative within aviation interior design, however this visionary interior does not tempt its potential clients with unrealistic dreams, but provides a very real glimpse of how an interior could look, whether this would be for a client’s next aircraft, or for an aircraft in several years’ time.
The NISI 1700 is a shining example of innovation at it’s best and is the first model to be released in NISI’s XPRESSO series (the 5th model for the company). Recent sea-trials yielded 41-knot top and 33-knot cruise speeds. This design boasts extensive use of carbon fiber, kevlar and advanced acoustic insolation. The NISI 1700 exceeds the highest quality, safety and comfort standards for a yacht in this class. www.nisiyachts.com
M/Y Miracle will still be the biggest composite yacht to her CMB sisters in Europe, with a length of 47 meters. M/Y Miracle had been designed with an air of modernity, though still retaining timeless classic features.
