Jacoby Symphony Hall Experience the thrill of the music in Jacoby Symphony Hall! For more than 60 years, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra has been bringing great music to Florida's First Coast. Founded in 1949, the Orchestra has welcomed legendary artists including Joshua Bell, Isaac Stern, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Marilyn Horne, Luciano Pavarotti, Itzhak Perlman, and Mstislav Rostropovich, championed the work of Florida composers, performed twice at Carnegie Hall, and appeared on American Public Media's "Performance Today." The Orchestra offers a wide variety of performances including a 10-week Masterworks Series, a Pops Series, Opera, programs for families, and myriad special events. Joining the Orchestra on the podium next season are eight of the orchestra industry’s emerging maestros as an exciting search for a new Music Director begins. “… we surely deserve and need to have a full time orchestra among us. We can only hope that it would be as good as the Jacksonville Symphony.” ~ The Palm Beach Daily News
