IDEA 2 | HIDDEN FIGURES OF COLUMBUS’ PAST CONSIDERATIONS • Storytelling through temporary sculpture • One singular site to walk through or multi site singular installations • Additional programming should be considered for the duration of the installation • Partnership with Columbus Landmarks, Columbus Metro politan Library, Columbus Urban League, or other organization to help develop stories

CONSIDERATIONS • Combination of large and small sites should be considered • Multiple sites popping up multiple times throughout the two months • Varying color and shape • Many locations and bright colors or high impact • Could be reused annually • ROW permits required LOCATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION • On sidewalks clustered in multiple locations • Framing entrances to buildings • On pathways within parks COST RANGE • $1000- $1500 per arch • Management Fee: Dependent upon the total amount of arches proposed


Alley Activation

CONSIDERATIONS • Take place monthly throughout the Spring/ Summer on a different alley • Each Alley is a different theme • Permitting required • Additional Programming could enhance experience


LOCATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION • Alleys throughout downtown and streets not heavily traveled • Potential partnership with businesses could support location selection

COST RANGE • $10,000 - $20,000 per alley depending on programming of space • Management Fee: 15% of the total project fee


Roving Riverfront IDEA 5 | ROVING RIVERFRONT

CONSIDERATIONS • Activation of the Riverfront through a variety of programming opportunities • Food and drink, vendor focused • Creating space to do nothing with others who are doing nothing • Could start in March and go through early September LOCATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION • Along the Riverfront on the East and West sides COST RANGE • Varies significantly depending on activity selected • Management Fee: Dependent upon concept selection



Columbus POP! IDEA 6 | COLUMBUS POP! CONSIDERATIONS • Activation of sites around downtown that could pop up in different locations at one time or in specific increments • Multi-site security management • Nothing like this has shown in the Midwest LOCATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION • Riverfront • Topiary Park • Columbus Commons • Parking Garage • Alleyways COST RANGE • Between $40,000 and $55,000 depending on selected artwork • Management Fee: 15% ot the total cost of the project

Happy Trees IDEA 8 | HAPPY TREES CONSIDERATIONS • Sound and color are options • City would be a close partner • Could appear on select corridors LOCATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION • Select corridors • Columbus Commons • Riverfront COST RANGE • varies by scale of installation but relatively low cost • Management Fee: 15% of the total project fee


The Boring but Important Stuff.

CDDC RESPONSIBILITY:

• Site security • Portable restroom rental and access to permanent restrooms • Utility availability (water, electric) for lighting features and outdoor dining areas. Perhaps these will be generator-fed, but that will be expensive. • Emergency response • Vandalism response • Event publicity on CDDC social media channels
