welcome Welcome to Issue#3 of The Script magazine. There coulnd’t be a better time to bring issue#3 in the same month as The Script release their third album called #3. I listened to this album at least 20 times already and I’m still not bored. In my opinion it’s an amazing album with unique sound and lyrics. I just have “No words” to explain how great it is. I can just say that I’ve been very looking forward to hear it and The Script didn’t disappoint me at all. I love the personality of each song and this is what I call music. The Script will never be superficial (thank God) and they will always make a proper music. Speaking of number 3, our 3 writers have made the full review of #3 focusing on each song separately. You will love reading it as well as other new features we have prepared for you. We also changed the design a bit and the whole issue is based on emotions and honesty. After you read all the articles and reviews, you will understand what I’m talking about. Well done to our writers and all the people who contributed to make this happen, once again. This issue is in my opinion the best one we have made so far. I’m very proud to show you everything we have been working on for the last month. My special thanks goes to the guys from a great band called Charlie Straight. Giving us an amazing interview and being so kind and helpful with everything. I’d also like to thank to my team, Carla, Brittany and Cheryl, who did everything I asked them to do and they did it very well. I’m glad I could work with them and I hope this is not the last time.

latest We all know The Script have their third album out and you told us your opinions on this album called #3. Here are some of them: Jowee Santiago “The Script said once that the reason why they don’t use their own pictures or post their faces on their album covers is because they want us fans and other people to love the music they make and not just them as persons, singers, or song writers. It then came to our surprise that the #3 album cover used their own photos on it. By listening to their interviews and the album sampler, we then know now the reason why they have used now their own faces on the album. This is because this album surely is now certainly about them - Danny, Mark and Glen. The song IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW clearly explains Danny and Mark’s experience. Glen, once said in Twitter that the song on #3 that best suits him is Give The Love Around since the meaning of the song is what he lives by. I know this album will be much loved and will be another success for the lads.”
Marjorie Midge May “i adore the album! its so emotionally charged....”If You Could See Me Now has me sobbing my heart out...i can really connect with this song as i lost my grandad 5 years ago and he was a major father figure in my life ♥ its nice to see the lads doing so well and i think there is only one way for them to go now.......up!!”
Georgia Fletcher “Amazing i love good old days:*The boys are great♥”
Courtney Power “This album is amazing really took a step forward in music honestly think its going to be a hit! So proud of these boys! ♥”
Kelly Van Der Motten “Love how u can once again hear all the stories behind it. This is so much more than some songs and u can hear how their heart is in it!”
Liz Hutchins “I think the first half of the album is a lot stronger than the second, but I think it is their best album yet. My favourite song is probably Broken Arrow. I love the design of the album and the lyrics printed onto the disk.”

st news Suzanne Van de Lustgraaf “I love the lyrics on this album, they are so real and emotional. Also love the string sections they have on some off the songs. Mark playing a bigger part on this album is also brilliant. This album really touches me and If You Could See Me Now is my favorite song together with No Words!!” Hana Jeetun “#3 is simple truth. No lies, no fake lyrics which do not mean anything. It is The Script. The album connects with everyone and you can feel every emotion. Beautiful, heart-felt and true.”
Our writers made the full review of #3 and you can read how they felt about doing it and what they think about this album. Carla Silva “Making a review of an album made by The Script isn’t easy – I’m struggling with what and how to say it because I want to be as honest as I can. With just 3 albums in 4 years, The Script have built a big and loyal fan base that always goes the extra mile to show their support for the band. Their latest offer, released on Sep 10 it’s called #3 and has what The Script accustomed us: lots of good music!!”
Cheryl Wyngaard “If I had to take a step away from the album and talk about the love we all have for The Script then I think this line kind of says it all…“But what can I say, about something that blows me away, without it sounding like another cliché”. To say that we respect and admire their work and love for their originality and genuine personalities would be a gross understatement as those words ring out through all the forms of media where fans can voice their feelings. The truth is that every word spoken and those that are unspoken, are true. But sometimes there are just not enough words to explain the incredible amount of pride and happiness I feel when I see someone hearing their music for the first time and as the smile comes across their faces, I just know that unbeknownst to them they’ve joined The Script Family of fans who will love their music for decades to come…”

full revi Good Ol’ days
The Script are definitely back and they do know how to start things over with this one. Very much like Science & Faith, this album starts with an uplifting, mild rock song that is like a memory of those times when you’re at a local pub with your friends “smoking cigars” while “drinking Irish whiskey straight from the jar”. Unlike You won’t feel a thing, this is not a song about love (a rarety for The Script). The lyrics to this song speak about making music at the bar with a guitar or with a piano – the only thing you need to make it - is to have passion about it and sing it from the heart, so everyone can relate. “Even the old man there with the paddy hat on is singing” “even the girl with the red dress on” “the big guys there with the big tattoos”. Although this song has some sadness “another man crying in his beers” but it has hope ‘cause “his woman says cheers to it all”. We can’t help to notice the brief reference to For The First Time “oh these times are hard” as a rebel song that everyone takes home – as their own song. Bottom line, this is another tribute to the Irish people and their ability to overcome adversity. Sound wise, this song is heavy on the drums – I bet Mr Power has a kick playing it live. And The Script are “never too proud to sing about ‘em”.

Six degrees of separation
If there was ever a song that describes a break up (from a man’s point of view), this is it. If you’re going through a split, this song may be hard to listen. It’s an honest and admirable description of a split. Basically a guy goes trough six stages of anger, melancholy, despair, some sense of hope, until you realize you may have some fault on the result. “First you think the worst is a broken heart “ (…) “ the sixth is when you admit you may have fucked up a little”. This may be a tear jerker type of song but, I believe if a song draws such strong emotions from someone then the song fullfiled its purpose. Besides the lyrics being so well constructed, I felt like Danny meant every word and I think that’s what makes the song so perfect. The Script are amazing lyricists, capable to channel in words what goes in their hearts and like Danny once said “A song-writer has to be able to channel other people’s feelings”. This song must sound amazing live ‘cause it Danny can put this much emotion on the live performance, then I think this song is a stone winner and maybe a single.

Hall of Fame (feat. Will.i.am)
This is the first single of the album. It should have been an Olympic anthem ‘cause this is the most uplifting song The Script have ever done. The main point of this song is: You can be whatever you want, just be good at it and you’ll be remembered. The album has two versions of the song – the original and the one feat. Will.i.am. Altough I prefer the original version, I must admit that Willl gave to the song a boost cause his hip hop vibe made the song better. From the beginning, this song is a call to your sense of pride and for you to excel yourself “you can be the greatest you can be the best!” But nothing comes without hard work “dedicate yourself and you gonna find yourself standing in the Hall of fame”. Believe you can!!! This is main focus of the song. I strongly believe this song is like The Script telling their story. Every fan knows the guys struggled as young musicians in the streets of Los Angeles, it took them a few years till their music was heard but they never gave up – so I believe this song may be about them. As a conclusion to this review, I must say that making this was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It may not be the most brilliant review ever but it’s what I feel from the songs and I think The Script are all about that – honest feelings! Their music can up lift your mind, even the sad songs can give you hope.

If you could see me now
Ever have that moment when you’ve lost your mother or father, or both, and think, “I wonder what they would think of me now as an adult. Would they be happy or disappointed with the choices I’ve made in my life?” This is the song for that moment. I know when I first heard the beginning of the song with Danny’s lovely piano playing and the words, “Oh, if you could see me now,” I knew this song was going to bring tears to my eyes. Never has there been a song in the entire The Script catalog that was as soul-baring as this one. Everyone knows The Script are capable of writing songs that move you to tears, but none as powerful or emotional as this particular song. You can just feel the sadness seeping throughout the music and lyrics. The loss of a parent is never an easy issue to deal with because of the pain and sadness that lurks inside of you. I mean, it’s not something you like to mention in everyday conversation. You just hope and pray they are proud of you and who you have become in your life, despite the decisions you made, good or bad. With this tribute to Danny’s father and Mark’s parents, Danny and Mark are leaving themselves vulnerable to us, and letting us see the emotions of a great loss in their lives. Danny starts off explaining about the day his dad passed away, and how he was his inspiration, especially with the words “Because the man wasn’t good, he was great.” With Mark, he is very vocal in how much he misses his parents, and how much that loss still weighs down on him. But both wonder what it would be like to have them in the crowd watching them up on stage, and how they would react. And I know they would be very proud of their sons, without a doubt.

full revi Glowing
Glowing is defined in the dictionary as shining softly and steadily. When someone is in love, they glow from the inside out. I know we’ve all experienced that feeling, whether it was a crush on someone, or the real deal where they return the feelings. And The Script are wonderful storytellers when it comes to love songs and the feelings that are evoked because of that one emotion known as love. This could almost be seen as a prequel to “Talk You Down” because she is leaving him, and yet he follows her because he wants to save their relationship. He tells her that what she is doing to them is “relationship suicide. ‘Cuz if you go, I go.” But the scenario displayed in this particular song is a classic with a slight twist: Boy meets girl. They fall in love. She wants out for fear of hurting him, so she tries to find ways to leave him. But he remains in love and is determined to not give up on them. As he tells her, his “decision’s always gonna be to follow you.” He wants her to know that he is in this relationship until his body is no more, and that “I don’t even know where we’re going, but I’m sitting with you and I’m glowing.” He doesn’t care about their destination as long as they are going together. And that is something we all want in a relationship: that one person who won’t give up on what we have because as long as we’re together, we know it gets better in the end.
6
Give the love around
We all know that saying: “What goes around comes around.” If you’re nice to someone, then they’ll be nice to you, and the circle continues. It doesn’t matter who a person is, or where they come from, for we should always show love to one another, regardless if we’re friends or enemies. This is another example of paying it forward, so to speak, and it’s something we should live by. When I first heard this song on the album sampler, I obviously only heard a few seconds of it, but I loved it. I didn’t even know what the song was fully about, but it grabbed my attention. But the message is clear: showing love to everyone you know or meet can easily turn everything around because “it takes blood, sweat, tears, innovation. It starts with us.” The Script easily understand that the sharing of love is the one thing in this world that has enough power to change one frown into a million smiles. Even the music makes you want to dance because of its positive message. And when you’re done dancing, you want to go out and spread the love around and keep it going around because we are nothing without it. It shapes and molds us, and thus, we want to make sure it never stops. “Give the love around, and back around it goes.”

Broken arrow
Relationships can be tough for they take a lot of time and effort to make them work. And if you work hard enough at them, they can either make or break. With the latter, that is exactly the case for the couple in this song. They have tried so hard to be together, but they are just getting hurt in their attempts to make their relationship. They finally give up, but now they’re broken and shooting “across the sky like a broken arrow.” It’s just one of those moments when the only place you can go is down. And when you have been hurt in a relationship, it is hard to see past that and not wonder if you’re going to get hurt again. While I have never experienced this before, I know of people in my life who have, and it’s hard to watch them go through it. You root for them and want them to work out so badly, and when it doesn’t, you just feel for them. What interesting is, the song is told from both the man’s and woman’s point of view of their ruined relationship. And that is something I really enjoy about “Broken Arrow.” Usually in each of their songs, The Script tell the story from the man’s point of view and what’s he feeling, but not this time around. We get to hear from both parties, and see their views on what was something they tried very hard to work on, and it just didn’t work out because of their constantly getting hurt. The man decides he’s going to “wear an iron suit” so he won’t ever get hurt again, and the woman is going to “fix her heart and make it bulletproof.” Again, this goes back to protecting themselves from harm in a relationship, which is what we all do after being hurt. This is why I find this song to be an interesting take on the ins and outs of a relationship. The Script continue to take chances with these kind of songs because they want to show us that not all relationships work out, especially when the constant hurt that both the man and woman are suffering from is getting in the way. While it’s hard to pick up the pieces and start again, there’s always going to be that hesitation about falling in love again and wanting to keep your heart guarded. In conclusion, we all may think love is perfect and great, and while it can be at times, the truth is, at least with this song, it isn’t always the way we imagine it to be.

Kaleidoscope This song touches me almost just as much I’m Yours or For the First Time. It’s a song for the hopeless romantics in all of us. It has that honesty that is so true to The Script’s signature style of writing. It digs in deep into the very depths of us, saying exactly what I’m sure every person wants to hear…That you are accepted just the way you are, scars, fears, baggage and all and that through all of the darkness, there’s someone out there that sees the light in you. “Show me your fears, show me your scars, I’ll take whatever’s left of your heart” ……”I

want your fears, your hopes, the whole kaleidoscope” those lines will in time become as memorable as Mark Darcy’s “I like you just the way you are” in Bridget Jones’s Diary or Tom Cruise’s “You complete me” in Jerry Maguire…..the words were simple and plain…. but the weight of the meaning it carried with it was enormous just like the lyrics to Kaleidoscope. To me the song is about the hopes and dreams of finding that one person that looks past our flaws and imperfections and accepts us for who we are, no questions asked, no judgement. It challenges the willingness in us to have enough faith to accept the love being given. No matter whether the love being shared is a romantic one or the love of a friend or relative. I somehow have the feeling that Kaleidoscope will be the soundtrack to a great romantic movie in the future and if not, it will undoubtedly be the theme song to many of our lives and what we all secretly hope for.

No words
In keeping with the theme of love, the lyrics to this song say what every girl wishes a guy would say to her. Now it’s rumoured that flattery gets you nowhere and that’s probably true but telling a girl how you really feel?...that can move mountains! There is a longing in all of us, girl or boy, to love and be loved so much that all the words in the dictionary would not be enough to describe it… And once again their lyrics captures that raw emotion that says, I love you more than all the stars in the sky, more than what poets can articulate, more than anything else in this world….I just love you… “There are no words to describe or define what’s inside you, you feeling the vibe believe me I’ve tried to break it down to a science, with you in my mind and I open my mouth and get silence.” If you recognise these words then you know the feeling of meeting someone and wishing you could vocalise the immense amount of love you have inside for them but instead you find yourself at a loss because there are No Words. It’s a song that reminds me that sometimes there is more spoken in the smile of a loved one, or in arms of a cherished memory than in any amount of words spoken. It allows us to go back in time to the moment we all fell in love. You know, when the world suddenly seemed brighter just because they exist. This is no ordinary love ballad instead it has a deep richness to it with undertones of jazz and RnB that’s just makes you want to get up and gently move around the dance floor. No Words clearly reflects the influence and inspiration that RnB kings like Boyz II Men have had on them but I think The Script have now started to carve out a name for themselves as writers of some of the most beautiful love songs in the industry and this is definitely one of those songs. Their lyrics tend to encapsulate our innermost thoughts and give a voice to the feelings we cannot express. Listening to this song you will be drawn into a love story about emotions that are so beautiful and pure and a love that will stand the test of time.

Millionaires
Millionaires is one of those feel good songs which takes you back down memory lane thinking of all those good times spent with good mates or that someone special, just living in the moment and enjoying life. It’s a song you can easily wake up to in the morning, one that puts a smile on your face because you know that each time you hear it it’ll bring back new memories. There are only a few songs I’ve heard that have this effect, the first of which being “Walking on sunshine by Katrina and the waves” and then “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall by Coldplay”. For some reason or other this song takes me back to all the gigs I’ve ever been to. It must be the…. “When the band was on, playing our song, we messed up the lyrics to the sing-along…… Our feet were sore, our throats were raw. They turning out the lights but we are shouting more” and I have a sneaky suspicion that this will be a crowd favourite as we relate to the lyrics at The Script gigs. For those of us lucky to ever have had the joy of going to a gig, you will understand the sheer elation you feel listening to your favourite artist performing one of your favourite songs. Letting the music flow through you while you stand there smiling as you recognise the introduction to a song and for that split second you don’t give a damn where you are or whose around you because you’re gonna sing your heart out anyway! There’s simply no denying it, when standing in a crowd full of strangers and you feel the energy emanate from the band to the crowd and from the crowd all around the room, music brings people closer together. If you’re brave enough, take a journey with me for minute after reading this… Take out the #3 album and put the Millionaires song on max Now close your eyes and let the music take you back to your favourite gig moment while you picture all the fans with their arms up in the air, swaying it from side to side singing “Singing our hearts out, standing on chairs, spending our time like we are Millionaires” Can you see it? Are you singing along? … I am…

“Hall of fame” video with almost 3 million views on YouTube in 3 weeks will go, without a shadow of a doubt, very high in the ranking of The Script videos. And we all know why.
Hall of fame represents
an idea, it represents what people can do and it represents that you can do it too. Hall of fame can be a hospital where doctors save lives every day. It can be an army basement full of troops that are going to fight in the front line. It can be anything that shows people’s appreciation for what we’ve done. As Danny said: “It’s about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” The Script and will.i.am are performing in empty warehouse without any audience but they’re playing like they were standing in front of thousands of people. Ready
for fight attitude is shining from Danny’s eyes. We have two characters in the video (a ballet and a boxer) that are in the same place as The Script – in the beginning of their journey. The Script show us what we can achieve and where we can get if we love what we’re doing and if we’re determined enough to fight for what we believe. Simply because they’ve already done it without forgetting where they started. Behind all the fame and success, they’re still three blokes who play together in their apartment or on the street and they fight for what they believe. If they ever stopped fighting, they would lose everything they’ve gained.
Motivational song needs a motivational video and The Script achieved this by showing ordinary people who are fighting for their dreams. Many of us think that we have no talent, but that’s not true. Every one of us has a talent for something but we have to keep looking. After we find it, we have to fight for it and
“It’s about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”
we can’t be scared of failure. We can’t avoid failure, Thomas Alva Edison made 1000 failed tries, but try #1001 was a light bulb. People tend to always see only the results and all the hard work is left behind closed eyes. We want to be famous/successful/be good at something but we can’t expect it to come to
us without moving a finger. Those who already found their talent have to work very hard to be skilled because talent itself is useless without skills. So if you found your talent, work as hard as you can, don’t waste your time, don’t give up, never quit and you will be on the walls of the hall of fame. Written by Nicole Venglovicova

film review
Directed by: Tony Gilroy Screenplay by: Tony Gilroy and Dan Gilroy Cast: Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Scott Glen, Joan Allen, Albert Finney and many more. Click here to watch the trailer.
The Bourne Legacy is the fourth instalment of the Bourne series and it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
T
he plot differs completely to that of The Bourne Legacy novel and stars Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, a member of Operation Outcome, a Department of Defence black ops program. Even though the movie boasts a brand new star-studded cast, it still manages to incorporate Jason Bourne into the storyline and you will find a constant reference to the preceding Bourne movies. Considering the opening weekend saw Legacy selling 400 000 tickets more than the first instalment, The Bourne Identity, it would seem clear that fans were not deterred by the absence of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. I suspect that this has something to do with the Jeremy Renner appeal, the good guy with the irresistible bad boy looks. Renner plays a test subject in a special program where
he’s been given a strict cocktail of drugs that must be taken every day. On a routine training exercise in Alaska, he loses his pills and is now forced to go to extreme measures to try and replace them. What he doesn’t know is that the plug has been pulled on the Outcome program and he and the rest of the test subjects in Outcome have now become liabilities which must be eliminated. Renner gives a compelling performance and lures the audience in with his cunning wit and agility but also manages to show his characters vulnerable side. This academy award nominee can simply do no wrong and is definitely one of Hollywood’s hottest commodities after amazing performances in the Hurt Locker, The Town and The Avengers. Watching Renner onscreen you’re like a moth being drawn to a flame, you just can’t tear yourself away from the screen. Rachel Weisz, plays a passionate Outcome scientist whose only focus is the break –through results obtained from the physical and psychological effects of the drugs been given to the
test subjects and has been monitoring Cross’s progress for years. But being part of the Outcome project, she too has become a liability and she has to depend on her test subject, Cross, to get out of this alive. Together they find themselves not only running for their lives but running against the clock as Cross is running out of time to get the drugs he needs. If you are an avid movie goer, you might find the plot lacking somewhat, particularly if you are familiar with the first three Bourne movies. This

The only way to survive is to pre-empt what their opponent’s next move will be. For the action junkies out there, you won’t find the usual over the top special effects in here either, instead the action scenes takes us back to the old school spy movie style with the classic one-on-one fight and chase scenes and the city of Manila itself is used as a prop in the movie. These scenes are made even more thrilling knowing that Renner and Weisz did it all themselves thereby adding an authenticity to it that can’t be easily replicated.
“There were times in the movie where I found it to be a bit predictable but somehow Gilroy managed to draw me back in”
For obvious reasons and in keeping with the theme of the magazine, it would be remiss of me not to mention Scott Glenn, who reprises his role as CIA Director – Ezra Kramer from The Bourne Ultimatum. He keeps true to his character playing the quiet authoritative type similar to his role in The Silence of the Lambs. (& akin to Glen Power, Mr Cool, Calm and Collected himself)

His movies build in a delicate balance of action, suspense and romance that knows just how to keep the audiences captivated and entertained right until the very end. There were times in the movie where I found it to be a bit predictable but somehow Gilroy managed to draw me back in and add to it a level of suspense where I found myself wondering, is he really going to get those pills on time and how will he get himself out of each dilemma?

Some might say that the weak plot and the minimal
action scenes makes this a bad sequel but judging from the ticket sales I think many will disagree. In my opinion if you are looking for an entertaining spy movie with some eye candy to boot, then The Bourne Legacy is for you. And for the die-hard Bourne fans, there’s promise of a possible link up between Bourne and Cross in a fifth Bourne instalment. From the looks of things, I think Gilroy still has more to offer in terms of the Bourne series and will undoubtedly continue entertaining audiences long into the future! Written by Cheryl Wyngaard

The reason why we chose Charlie Straight for The Script mag interview is mostly because of the way they make music. Honesty in lyrics, singing stories with a great voice full of pain or joy, cheeky and handsome singer... don’t these things remind you of The Script? Let’s see what Albert and Johnny told us about their band. the script magazine (tsm): When and how did you meet and decide to form a band? ALBERT (A): We all met at school in fact. It was in 2006 when we had our first rehearsal in the local music school (our drummer Palo was my drum teacher at the time) on a summer afternoon. As far as I remember, there was a lot more jazz going on. I also remember hearing The Scientist for the first time in my cousin’s place and thinking, “This is it, this is how I feel.” So in a way, I owe Coldplay a lot. If I ever get to meet Chris Martin in person, I’ll probaby say, “To me your band was the main reason why we started.”
21
JOHNNY (J): I have known Albert since high school. Actually, we played in 2 different bands together before Charlie Straight. You probably wouldn’t guess one of them was a jazz trio where Albert played drums.
lay we p me say “I’d p with so o 80s influ Britp of strong. A lot r encesle say ou .” p peo is positive music TSM: Who came up with the name Charlie Straight
and why? j: It was Albert’s idea. Frankly, there is no deep story behind the name. We just couldn’t come up with anything better at the time. A: I don’t know why we picked it. I didn’t know it could mean heterosexual back then. It should refer to being honest, playing straight and basically not messing about. TSM: How would you describe your music to people who have never heard it? A: Something like early Coldplay meeting The Killers,
30 Talking Heads and Cher with a melodic, cheerful, uplifting central-European twist.

J: That is always a tricky question to answer. I’d say we play Britpop with some strong 80s influences. A lot of people say our music is positive. That’s mostly true. At least there is always some hope in Albert’s lyrics.
, we “Recently I in England ime. t t s playedhe fir hat w t r a e d fo e no i , but th d a t h pec we got x e to it.” ption rece above was TSM: It doesn’t happen often that a Czech band sings in English. Was it hard in the beginning to be appreciated by the audience? A: Well, it’s hard to be appreciated by an audience in any language. We realize that and don’t take it for granted. These days, most people in the Czech Republic speak English and sing along at gigs. It’s a bit more difficult on the local radio ‘cause obviously, we blend with other bands from outside and especially from the UK. I take that as a compliment. Recently, we played in England for the first time. I had no idea what to expect, but the reception we got was above it. “You’re a really good band. Have you got a record deal yet?” said a homeless-looking guy in Islington. “No? You’ll get one soon!”

31 special guest J: Maybe it was a bit harder, but our goal from the very beginning was to play abroad too. You could do that with lyrics in any language if the music is interesting enough, I guess… but most people wouldn’t understand what the songs are about. TSM: What was the biggest moment in your career so far? A: I hadn’t realized how it feels to support Red Hot Chili Peppers in a massive stadium until a few days ago. It’s hard to say. I am really really happy every time I manage to write a song I’m excited about and play it in my room. J: For me, it was the moment I realised we are doing what we like for a living. I believe some big moments are still to come, though. TSM: Where was the best audience you’ve ever had? A: Slovakia, scary. :) TSM: Except Czech and Slovak Republic, in what other countries did you play? A: Germany, Poland, France and UK! TSM: How important is the image for you as a band? A: It’s a way of expressing oneself. I mean it’s not true it’s not about the clothes you wear. I wear things for a reason. I have t-shirts that say “Sea Change” or “Do

You Realize?”. It’s also a way of respecting people around you. J: I think it is important to stay true to yourself and your fans. How could they believe your music if the way you behave didn’t correspond with the music you make?
I lisw t no of Righ lot “ a g to udin , l ten c gs in thin onic music r e ex m so elect p, ” stuff hipho perimental TSM: Your musical influences? J: My music taste changed quite a bit. My grandmother played classical music to me when I was a kid. When
I was 15 I listened to funky, that led to jazz and even some freejazz… I enjoyed Medeski, Martin and Wood. Then a friend of mine introduced me to Radiohead and I started discovering more and more bands…. Right now I listen to a lot of things including electronic music, hiphop, some experimental stuff….whatever feels interesting to me. I like to wander through the internet and discover new music. A: I am fascinated by Bon Iver, still. TSM: What was your key to success? A: Luck and our parents and friends believing in it all. TSM: What are the plans for the rest of the year? A: We have a plan. We
want to tour in Germany and the UK. J: We have quite a few gigs booked, including France and Austria. We will also be working on new songs.
I want to thank Charlie Straight very much for this great interview. I would like to say that I strongly recommend everyone to check out their music. You won’t regret :) Interviewed by Nicole Venglovicova

dear Glen, Danny and Mark, thank you for the music The Script are a great band to listen to when you feel lost, heartbroken, depressed, sad, suicidal, you name it. And when people have serious problems like those aforementioned, they turn to The Script’s music to help them through it. One of those prime examples is longtime The Script fan Carly Sammons. We had the opportunity to talk with her and get her thoughts on the matter. THE SCRIPT MAGAZINE (TSM): Hi, Carly! Would you please share with us your story?
CS: I first heard them in 2008.
Carly Sammons (CS): My story is that I was going through a really hard time. It was a dark place and I couldn’t see any way out. So I turned to music. Nothing was really helping. I was listening to the radio and “We Cry” by The Script came on. The lyrics just really hit me and stuck with me. After that, they’re who I’ve always turned to.
TSM: Which songs of theirs are your favorites, and why?
TSM: When did you first discover The Script?
CS: My favorite is “We Cry” because it just has that message that really hits me. Though life may not have rainbows and happy endings, it’s okay. Because even in the darkest moments, we always have each other. My other favorite is “Before the Worst.” That song has kept me going through so much. The lyric ‘if the clouds don’t clear, then

The story:
the story we’ll rise above it’ just gives me hope to know that you can push through anything. Even when bad things happen, that’s not the end because there’s always a way to get past all that and start new. TSM: What is it about their music that helps people overcome their problems and give them hope? CS: I think their music helps so many people is because their music is honest and true. They’re not singing about parties and fame. They’re singing about real life things and telling you it’s going to be okay. And I think that’s something people need to hear. Their words are comforting. A lot of their songs are about sticking together and having someone. Their lyrics just really help people.
the y a s e ngs at ar s o S “ th son’ gs r n thi a pe you in gs p dee t. Thin ould r hea ught c into tho r be put .” neve words
TSM: Why do you think music is such an outlet for people facing serious issues, like suicide and depression? CS: I think music is such an outlet for people facing bad things because it’s comforting. Songs say the things that are deep in a person’s heart. Things you thought could never be put into words. But
hearing them in songs can really give a person hope. By hearing just one lyric, is the difference between feeling alone and knowing you’re not. With music, you’re part of something bigger and that can be something that’s enough to keep someone going. TSM: You mentioned lyrics are the difference between feeling alone and not. What are your favorite lyrics? CS: My favorite lyrics by The Script are “If the clouds don’t clear, then we’ll rise above it’, and ‘She finds color in the darkest places, she finds beauty in the saddest of faces.’ In general probably ‘You know me all to well, but you never had the chance to find out who I really am’ and ‘She always wanted what she never had, but never had what she needed so badly.’ TSM: Are there other bands that have helped you through their music? Which ones? CS: Many have, but one in particular is Safetysuit. That band means so much to me and they’re always there for me. Literally, when I’m feeling down, Doug sometimes messages me with advice and I couldn’t thank them enough. Their lyrics are always talking about how life is worth living and how you shouldn’t give up. And how everyone’s beautiful and important. I think it’s just a message everyone needs to hear, and they have truly helped me.
TSM: What is your philosophy on music and its healing capabilities for those that are having a difficult time? CS: I think that music is one of the best healers out there. Music is such a good healer because one song can describe your situation perfectly. I think with that though, the actual artist helps too. Because by knowing what they went through, it, in a way, shows that you can get through it. too. Music is just a stronghold. It’s one of those things that will never leave you. It’s just very comforting to know that you can turn to music whenever and it really helps people get by. TSM: Thank you, Carly, for taking time out for this interview. Is there a message you would like to send out to The Script for all that their music has done for you? CS: I’d just want to say thank you so much. They’ve helped me more than I could ever even describe. They’ve kept me going when it seemed impossible and they’ve always had my back. They picked me up from a dark place and brought me here. They’re just my life and for that, I hope they’re doing very well, and I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. I love them to death, and they’ll always be my favorite band. we love drinking tea there are scientists that defend the opposite. Their anti-oxidant properties are very well known by most people – how many time has a tea cured a common cold?
TEA: A FRIEND WITH BENEFITS
Other benefits are: controls the accumulation of body fat, it can help protect dental enamel and it’s an amazing diuretic. There are special types of tea(like dandelion tea) that help to break kidney and blatter stones – many times, this type of treatment prevents people from going under cirgury. Just as a curiosity, in Japan parents tell their children to drink green tea after they eat sweets.
It can also be a relaxing drink because of its low levels of caffeine. For many people, including myself, it substitutes coffee very well. Although, it’s not proven, some onchologists advise green tea for some types of cancer like, skin, prostate and specially stomach cancer – it may not cure them but it helps with some effects they may cause. On the other hand,
