With pride and gratitude (on behalf of hundreds of students), we, the 1968 Derrick staff dedi c ate the 1968 Derrick to Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Very few people realize the many difficulties the DERRICK Staff had in pro ducing this yearbook. There were many tim es when we felt like giving up, but the support and cooperation from everyone at Burkbumett High School inspired us to stay w ith it. As m embers of the DERRICK Staff for the past two years, we’ve had many opportunities to m eet th e students and to get to know each of you. We’ve at tem pted to focus this yearbook around you, as a student of Burkbumett. To the staff members who have worked long and hard to produce this book, we extend our sincerest thanks for a job w ell done. We would like to especially thank Mrs. Schmidt for her hard work and guidance in making this yearbook a success. We hope the ’68 DERRICK w ill serve as a rem em brance to each and every stu dent at B.H.S. of a year full of cherished memories.
