Star Watch..... Sonam
“When we were shooting the film, my wedding was being planned. So not much time was wasted as we used to plan my wedding on sets, in between takes. “In a way it was godsend that we did this film together right before the wedding, otherwise I don’t know how we would’ve found the time to meet each other,” Sonam told reporters during a special event of the film. Sonam and Anand dated for over four years before tying the knot on May 8, 2018 in Mumbai suburbs. The actor said she was extremely nervous to work with her father. “Our relationship on set was very professional. But honestly, I was very scared on the first day. I was very nervous, hadn’t slept the night before, was very stressed out.” The ‘Neerja’ actor said the best thing about Anil is that he is still hungry to learn new things. “Curiosity dies in some people after they grow up. My dad, in a very nice way, hasn’t grown up. He is still so curious. When you are curious, you always feel you’re a student. I think that is a quality I hope I imbibe from him. To constantly learn, ask questions, be better and to never think I’ve done enough.”

Sara Ali
Sara Ali Khan, who is currently riding high on the success of her latest release ‘Simmba’, said acting has always been a dream for her, but then she got distracted because she was very “nerdy”. Was performing in front of the camera her first career choice? “When I finished the tenth grade, I was almost convinced that I wanted to do medicine. But the thing is that I have a mild tremor problem and I realized that I can’t do surgery. So, I decided to do law and I studied History and Political Science. But then in my last year, I did an acting course,” said Sara. Describing herself, she said she is somebody that till date loves reading and has studied almost every subject and has thoroughly enjoyed it in a university like Columbia and a city like New York. But the rush that she felt while doing theatre on stage, she said she had never felt like that. “That’s when I knew what I knew since I was a child.”Sara said her mother used to take away her books. “Acting has always been a dream, but then I got distracted. Firstly, I was really fat and secondly, I was very nerdy, and the combination meant that I shouldn’t be acting.
Bhumi
‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ star Bhumi Pednekar said getting into Bollywood was no accident as she always wanted to be an actor. “I have always wanted to be an actor,” Bhumi said, adding that she started working at a young age and was persistent in her belief that “eventually it would happen”. Before trying in films, Bhumi was assistant to Shanoo Sharma, the casting director, which produced ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. Bhumi opened up about her decision of making her debut when she appeared on an episode of chat show, and said, “As this script came along, I didn’t know they were auditioning me. So, Shanoo being Shanoo, she said, oh my God! Let’s do this mock audition.” She agreed for the mock audition. “Shanoo gave me four scenes to do and I did all of them back to back together and the audition happened,” said the actress. “I guess when Sharat Katariya, my director from ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, kind of liked my work, so they told me oh! You know what, it wasn’t a mock audition. We were actually auditioning you.”

REFLECTIONS
K
angana Ranaut’s statements about Bollywood ganging up against her to boycott her has not gone down well with many from the industry. Not that this is the first time she has accused Bollywood of treating her as an outsider. She is in fact the one who initiated the whole nepotism debate. But this time, she has gone on record to threaten that she will expose each from the industry after how they neglected her biggest, most ambitious release, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. She even mentioned Alia Bhatt in one of her statements by calling her ‘Karan Johar’s puppet’. When Zoya Akhtar was recently questioned about Kangana’s statements and what does she think of this whole backlash from Kangana, she however retorted saying, “Of course people appreciate her work...I don’t understand her accusations, I’m sorry” She said this in interaction with Pinkvilla.
S
peaking about taking her husband Nick Jonas’ surname, Priyanka Chopra said, “[It doesn’t] take away my identity. He gets added to who I am.” “I always wanted to add his name to mine because I feel, like, you know, we’re becoming family,” she added. “I’m a little traditional and old school like that,” Priyanka further said.
O
n Thursday evening, Bollywood actors Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani shared cryptic posts on their respective Instagram accounts. The photos have Tiger and Disha striking similar poses – their heads are slightly tilted downwards and their index fingers are resting on their lips. While Tiger wrote “Turns out I’m taken” as caption for his post, Disha captioned hers, “Someone popped the question, and I said yes...” It’s been fairly long since rumours of Tiger and Disha’s alleged affair began to float. While the two have always rubbished these speculations, their several public outings suggest that their relationship is more than just friendship. Keeping this in view, it was rather obvious that fans would consider Tiger and Disha’s posts as an “official announcement” of their relationship. But hey, this turns out to be a hoax!

NRI Property – Five Common Mistakes A Buyer & Seller Make
1. Payment to SPOA Holder:
an NRI seller force buyer to pay in Indian Savings Account. It is not the right practice. Now as a buyer, you must be wondering how I can check bank account status. I agree there is a practical problem. To safeguard interest, you should include bank account details in sale deed. Also, mention the account type i.e. NRO/NRE/FCNR as declared by the seller. Any misrepresentation of fact from the seller will put the seller in the trouble. All the cheques/DD/Banker’s cheque should mention the bank and account no of the seller as recorded in sale deed. This point is must for the purchase of NRI property
It is always advisable that during the sale of NRI property the NRI seller should be physically present in India. Sometimes it is not possible due to unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, A Special Power of Attorney or SPOA is executed in favor of a person present in India. Typically, SPOA holder is a relative of an NRI Seller. A power of attorney is called Special Power of Attorney if it is executed for a particular purpose as the sale of the property. A General Power of Attorney is multi-purpose like authorization to 4. an you believe we have Marched ahead into spring? What better way to celebrate the end of a cold, bleak winter than with a burst of colors! Yes, it is the time of the year to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors which marks the onset of spring. Though there are different mythological stories that surround this festival, such as the eternal love of Krishna and Radha that transcended earthly obstacles or the victory of Prahaladha (an avatar of Lord Vishnu), the spirit of Holi is honoring the colors of life. It symbolizes a fresh start, and the unfolding of a new cycle. It’s a celebration of love, life and unity in diversity. It’s the coming together of people regardless of caste, creed and color to celebrate new beginnings. The smearing of colors is synonymous with the sprinkling of positive energy! Celebrating Holi parallels the spirit of spring. Spring is the most joyous of nature’s seasons when the dull landscape of winter is brought to life with color. With every bud that blossoms, a miracle takes place; every petal that unfolds reflects nature’s grace. The sweetness of spring along with the joy of celebrating Holi, can infuse life with an added zing. It’s a reminder that with every cycle that comes to an end, we have a new beginning and the seeds that were planted in the soils of the past are springing forth with life. Aren’t we all a part of the cycle, nourished by the seasonal changes and living in harmony with nature’s glory? Celebrating Holi with family, friends and the community is an expression of adding color and vibrancy to our life’s story.

What is the symbolism of colors in one’s life? Each color has a special significance in Holi. Yellow symbolizes the light of knowledge and learning; red represents the power of love and passion; green signifies the spirit of growth and prosperity; blue denotes the spiritual color of the heavens and is Lord Krishna’s color; Pink and purple are popular too for that extra playful spark. Holi colors evoke laughter, fun and a flirtatious spirit. However, colors also convey meanings that transcend the obvious and touch your underlying emotions and psyche. Do you see the world through a black and white microscope or are you someone who views life as a kaleidoscope of a myriad colors? The first colors that touched the world are reflected in nature. Nature wears the colors of the universal spirit. The golden sunrise, fluffy white clouds, emerald green leaves, ruby red roses, azure blue ocean, shimmering pink sunset, silvery white moon and the black and brilliant star-studded galaxy. The most beautiful color spectrum of the universe are the rays of light in seven colors that embody a rainbow. The colors of nature are timeless, adding hues like no other. Colors can be viewed from the positive to the negative spectrum based on your perception. Red is an auspicious color and the color of love as denoted by the sacred sindoor that embellishes a bride, and the vibrant red tilak that marks the beginning of any religious celebration. But the same red in the negative extreme, represents anger and a foreboding. Have you received emails in red font and sensed a feeling of being shouted at? It’s your color conscience that wakes you up with the signals that certain colors automatically generate. Color touches our lives every day. Color recognition is an important milestone in the cognitive development of a child. What you see as a color is what you feel! Color is the language of the senses; the creative element that can add richness to the canvas of your thoughts. If you try recalling your dreams, visualize the colors in the vista of your inner eye. Dreams where certain colors dominate your images are interpreted differently based on the color. When you celebrate Holi, you are expressing the colorful elements which make the world richer. This festival which originated in Northern India, has crossed the streets of the subcontinent and reached the highways of the world. Color marches and runs celebrate strength in diversity, richness of cultures and freedom of expression without fear. When you sprinkle colored powder or spray colored water as you chase one another with gay abandon, do so with the spirit of the festival, which is to love without conditions and to live without limiting beliefs such as caste, race, age or gender. As Oscar Wilde said, “Color can speak to the soul”. Hope you savor the season of spring by celebrating with colors that touch your soul and lift your heart with happiness! Happy Holi!

A family member looks to you for support and you must study your options before you give a commitment. The reason for a change that you have never understood, does start to make sense and you might even end up agreeing with that change.

Try advice rather than criticism in a brainstorming situation and try to be pleased with the outcome even if you do not fully agree with it. Memories are from yesterday and you cannot use them in solving today’s problems, but the experience gained could come in useful. Some overdue good news comes along and with it a reward for a job well done. Lucky day 12th.
There are lessons to be learned this month and you will see very clearly who and what is really important in your life. Generosity is a strong urge but avoid going too far with it as it could seem like you are showing off. An old love re-ignites something that you thought had burned itself out ages ago and a new horizon appears. Lucky color blue.
You pride yourself on being a mind reader this month and it helps you to understand what is going on around you! You may also discover a secret admirer that will really amaze you. Be honest when a colleague asks for an opinion but it might be better not to reveal what you know about deals behind the scenes. Remember that written words are more secure than spoken ones. Lucky color white.
A personal makeover may be a good idea but do not let it go too far or you won’t even recognize yourself! A relationship that has always been on the formal side will now move into a new and more personal realm and you can unlock deep feelings that have been stored away for too long. A legacy presents itself, but the question is, do you want to accept? Lucky day 20th.
An affectionate family member may hold you dear but could also hold you back from desirable progress. Be gentle but firm and don’t feel you have to justify your actions too much. A gamble on love could turn out to be a winner in the relationship stakes. It is time to count the cost of a daring decision in the workplace. Lucky day 28th.

irish Bachani is currently a Senior Vice President and CFO, Auto Finance at Capital One and is responsible for the strategic decisions for the division. Capital One is one of the largest auto lenders in the country and ranked in Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for” list. We are very proud of Mr. Bachani’s accomplishments and he is featured in our Focus of the Month column, which highlights achievers from our community. Funasia always takes the pride in recognizing these achievers, who work effortlessly to bring the community standards high and are also involved in giving back to the system in many ways. Mr. Bachani said, “I came to the USA similar to many Asians who come here to study and work”. He received his Master’s in Business from Rice University in Houston. He had a fantastic journey working with American Airlines for nine years after graduation, and then he moved to Capital One and has been with the company for over 15 years. “Capital One is a great company to work for because of its giving culture,” Bachani said. He expressed how amazing it is when one gives to the community and it comes back in so many folds. “Community becomes better to live in, and we attract the best talent from the community, and they stay longer”. Mr. Bachani was the Collin County Market President two years back, and he along with community leaders was anchoring some great programs which benefited the community at large. One such program was Math Corps. Hosted at Capital One, associates teach 4th and 5th graders lessons over a two-week stretch aimed to improve their performance at school. Through programs like Math Corps, students gain the skills of tomorrow, today so that they can work in the career of their choice. Another such program was the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program (PMSIP). PMSIP connects motivated high school students with local companies and organizations, providing 20-to-40 hour per week paid internships for eight weeks in the summer. “This was such a win-win situation for both the interns who learned on the job and the nonprofits, who sought such help,” says Girish. The program is now in its sixth year. It was interesting to know about his typical day. He mentioned that it was hectic as calls start very early in the morning around 7:30 a.m. with 15-20-minute meetings each morning called Huddles

with his colleagues in Washington D.C. who are an hour ahead. This meeting sets the day and activities, which helps them sync with each other and make the day more productive. There are other separate meetings with the leaders. As a part of the South-Asian Community member, he integrates Capital One with the community in several ways. He is the Head of the Asian Network in Capital One. Internally they organize many fun events like Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year, Asian month etc. and externally he supports various organizations as a Capital One representative. They are big sponsors for the ‘Diwali Mela’. They support organizations like ‘Chetna’ and other organizations from time to time. The only challenge of picking an Asian organization to support is that they should align to Capital One’s Philanthropic efforts. When asked about Senior employees and the current generation difference, he said that Capital one folks are generally forward leaning regardless of people who have been around for a while or who just joined. They look for the same kind of talent. The difference is in just the experience. We seek the same problemsolving skill set when looking for new talents even now. Finally, Girish’s words of wisdom to the younger generation is ‘Don’t worry about the outcome, just try and do your best’. He says it feels cliché, but it is hard to do; as most people are concerned of the outcome. If one does not worry about the end result, but just does the right thing, helping peers and subordinates on the way, then magic happens giving peace of mind working on things that one loves to do.
