“Creativity takes courage.”
- Henri Matisse
Introduction
“This volume is the 14th in the International Contemporary Masters series, our oldest art anthology. To date, World Wide Art Books has published a total of 28 anthologies, which we think is a not inconsiderable achievement for an art publisher. In all these books, we have presented the work of nearly 4000 artists from nearly every part of the world, and have helped to launch many careers. When we started this collection of books back in 2006, it was our conviction that there are no longer centers of gravity in the art world or dominant schools of schools of art. Rather, art has become decentralized and diffused all over the world, as it was long, long ago, but now it has become hugely varied, in genres, concept and approaches. To approach this enormous and extremely variegated mass, we decided to create an ongoing chronicle, each piece of which we would try to make as inhomogeneous and varied as possible, in genre, style, and origins of the artists. After so many books and the acceptance the books have met with, we feel that our approach has been vindicated. The books have become a recognized standard, a resource for art professionals, collectors, art lovers and teachers. We trust that this fourteenth volume of our oldest series will not disappoint. We present here the works of some 66 artists, each very different, and as usual from every part of the world. Some are quite well-known and established, others are just beginning their careers. But what each possesses is an original creative vision, and a proficiency in their chosen medium. Each deserves further examination and attention. And so we continue.”

Albert Enz - International Contemporary Masters xiv
Albert Enz
Switzerland/France Albert Enz was born in Switzerland in 1943 and lives in France. He studied chemistry and biochemistry. During his scientific work as a researcher in the pharmaceutical industry, he always followed his path as a self-taught painter. Numerous exhibitions in France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy since 1960 encouraged the artist to paint again after his retirement. Enz’s current works are inspired by landscapes. Many of the pictures are impressions of travels in the south of France and Tuscany. The means of figurative statement are for Albert, form, color and composition. Color, observation of color, and the senses of color are the basis for a creative human nature. Abstract compositions contain the memory with very specific feelings, which he then paints. Albert Enz deals with memories and anchors them in new pictorial realities. The more time passes, the more memories change, the less their objective reliability. Deceptions arise which he perceives as real at the moment of the creation of the picture. For Albert Enz, painting means to follow a conception or an idea, which can be represented as pictures with the help of colors and forms. The origin of an idea can go back a long time and crystallize in impressive moments. This leads to visions that are made visible to the viewer. The painter tries to make moods, situations experienceable for the viewer. Everything is inspiration and finds its way into the works of Albert Enz. He tries to make characteristic situations, moods visible and experienceable for the viewer. A creative process requires an, albeit temporary, dissolution of existing thought and form solutions in order to fill a new form with its own content and not merely to resort to the reproduction of already existing forms of design. To be artistically active is a strong motivation because it allows for selfdetermination, which ultimately means freedom.

Reem AlHashmi - International Contemporary Masters xiv
Reem AlHashmi
United Arab Emirates Reem AlHashmi is a contemporary figurative artist, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates. Her main body of work is figurative with her current pieces employing a series of dolls to convey an idea, personality, or emotion frozen in time. AlHashmi pursued a BFA in Visual Arts with a minor in Curatorial Practices from Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, graduating with an extensive portfolio and multiple exhibition opportunities within her budding career in the arts. Her exhibited works range from paintings, prints and even dioramas, within the UAE, Tokyo, California, Bulgaria, and Liverpool. “At a young age, little girls use their dolls as a vehicle for their emotions, to live through experiences that are too far beyond their reach, at the comfort of their imagination. This instinctive behavior, which has never left me, is what urged me to choose dolls as my medium. My dolls are a means for me to express my feelings indirectly, where they are placed in situations and environments based on ones I’d like to explore or live through vicariously. I reference the theme of personas, alter egos and masks. Emotions and experiences that stem from real-life happenings are in turn romanticized and expressed through the doll’s character or persona.”

Torhild Frøydis Eid
Norway
Norwegian artist, Torhild Frøydis Eid was born in 1961 in Kristiansand and currently lives in Son, in the south-eastern part of the country. After her career as a navy office became increasingly demanding, Torhild decided to leave. In her own words, “My inner voice urged me to explore and process things. As a result, I turned to painting and mindfullness.” “I have become a very passionate painter, and I love to experiment with colors, textures and techniques. I always aim at creating high-quality artworks and improving my skills, especially in acrylic abstract painting and in mixed media techniques. I find inspiration in my daily life and nature. Animals, the sea, the sky, the light and also music are my sources of inspiration. In my paintings, I seek to transfer my inner sensations onto the canvas. While the music is playing, I surrender and I let the brush intuitively play over the canvas, especially when it comes to abstract paintings. I find the result often very unexpected! My overall desire is to spread joy and good vibrations in a world of great challenges. I also want to awaken and remind to the observer of all the beauty in life. To appreciate what life has to offer even in small everyday things. We often search for something else. I want my paintings to give the observer moments of joy, just to breathe, and make the observer present here and now.”

“Obtaining a BA in Graphic Design and Fine Art, I worked for many years as a Graphic Designer and Art Director. I made a switch from realism to abstract art about 15 years ago, allowing me to be more expressive and expansive with my paintings. I work primarily in mixed media paint, painting in two different styles simultaneously. I use four to five canvases at a time, allowing for a very creative work atmosphere. This permits me to get more emotionally tied to the paint, creating a sense of harmony that leaves me feeling exceptionally invigorated as I work. Abstract art has become my life’s obsession. I paint the emotions that flood my mind each day. Every moment brings new images for me to paint, creating a sense of euphoric peace. I invest in the creation of a piece of art to convey what I have inside: my thinking, my emotions, my life, my essence and my soul. It’s also a way I can reach my own desires and essential demands out of life. For me, it is important to create what I feel. My abstract art is an extension of myself. Full of passion and emotion: happy, sad, angry, calm, all playing a part in my creative process. The sights running through my mind create the desire to paint in a more expressive form. The inspiration that I take from experiencing life creates a feeling that continues to inspire me. I don’t think, as an artist, that is something I will ever lose.”

Jean Marc La Roque
France/Australia
Jean Marc La Roque was born in Cherbourg, a seaport in Normandy, in northwestern France. La Roque has worked as a professional photographer for the last 35 years and has lived in Melbourne, Australia since the late 70s. An award-winning photographer, Jean Marc has extensive experience in the Asia-Pacific region. He has specialised in large-scale industrial, shipping and architectural photography and has been very successful in commercial photography and corporate portraits. His landscapes are very graphic with an abstract quality, perfectly reflecting the intensity of the Australian light. He often includes large-scale industrial elements within these landscapes to give a sense of scale and place. Jean Marc captures the feeling of the natural world and shows the visual harmony that can exist between manmade and natural components. He constantly explores the ways that beauty can be found in industrial settings. This work often takes him to physically challenging and remote areas, which allows the viewer to have access to the beauty of these inhospitable areas. Many large-scale works have been commissioned by clients in Australia and internationally for corporate offices and private homes. Jean Marc has received numerous international photography awards and has also exhibited in New York, Paris, Florence, Milan and Melbourne. He is represented by Monteoliveto Gallery, Paris. www.monteolivetogallery.com “The lonely structures series is based on a collection of images shot in the Australian desert. I wanted to reflect the desolation and remoteness of the landscape with a form, shape and fabric of the human element. The photographs were taken at midday to accentuate the heat and the harshness of the light giving the audience the feeling of the heated landscape. This series is still in the making.”

Peace Lilly, 2021 Acrylic on canvas 30 x 24 in.
“I am an eternal dreamer... especially in painting. I find refuge in painting to escape from the daily reality of being a simple payer of taxes. Therefore I compose what I call my “optimistic dreams’’ on canvas or paper. These dreams are populated by imaginary women, fantastic horses, colourful trees, generous fruits and tropical landscapes.
The Moon’s Prisoner, 2017 Acrylic on canvas 36 x 48 in.
My painting is symbolic. A woman becomes very often the beach, the mountain, the wind; other times she’s hope, patience, or, simply, life. Horses are the male force in my work and they represent time, freedom, or my desire of going beyond. My fruits are full of humanity and with them I speak about myself or about the generosity of Mother Nature. Trees are my “elder brothers” and I pay to them a special homage in my work. I like a lot to highlight the close relation that exists between them and us, humans: after all, it is thanks to trees that we all breathe. In other words, in each painting, I try to create a visual poem with the elements of life I love the most. To carry out my dreams on canvas I have chosen acrylics, and on paper I prefer watercolour. Richness of color is vital in my paintings as it connects me directly with my Latin American origins; and, sometimes, I add some textures to the painting surface by mixing sawdust or fabrics with acrylic pigments and mediums, just to break the flatness of the bi-dimensional support. I enjoy as well bringing my creativity into the art of printing, especially the silkscreen process, in which I draw directly over the screen to create more and more visual poems. Ceramics is another artistic practice in which I connect with art and nature. I do ceramic sculpture with the same ambition of creating good news for the eye and soul. In clay, I pay tribute to the beauty of the human body, which I think is the center of the Universe.
The Four Winds, 2017 Acrylic on canvas 48 x 36 in.
My biggest aim as an artist is touching the heart of the spectators, by sharing with them my own heart and my humble way of seeing and loving life.”

Debbi Chan United States
“I did not become an artist. I was born an artist and have spent my life perfecting it.” Debbi creates because she has to. For her making art is a primal need like eating or sleeping. It is also her passion daily turning the world before her into art. Her knowledge and interest in Eastern painting theory holds within it the essence or ‘DAO’ of her creativity. In Asian painting, the idea is to allow the viewer to be inside the painting not outside looking in as is the thought of Western perspectives. But painting or viewing from inside the painting itself was an experience allowed only for the insane or savant minds. Until one day when Debbi taught herself to paint in virtual reality (VR) and this combined with her knowledge of traditional Chinese painting and painting theory opened the doors of perception to the viewers and herself.

“Debbi Chan, a visual story teller. Multitalented and with a long history in the field of art, Debbie leaves her mark on the contemporary artworld as an artist with a unique style who is imitating no one. On the contrary, she is the master of a unique style that combines the sophisticated with the naïve with a direction who might find imitators in the future. Her latest work – presented in this book - gets into a totally different direction though. Realistic compositions with bright colors and full of movement, with a whimsical tendency, an element that is found in almost all her works as a small detail, pleases the eye of the spectator and relaxes his soul.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

Wojciech Tut Chechliński is a Polish painter who has been building his own vision of the world referring to the viewer’s imagination for several decades. The artist started in his youth when he first came into contact with the painting of Paul Klee (Warsaw, 1959). He comes from a family with artistic and collector traditions. Wojciech Tut Chechliński is a Sociologist by education. His paintings; formally close to the achievements of cubism, abstract art and art brut, are characterized by a wide range of colors and creative synthetism. Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane in Poland are examples of places where his art can be seen.

“Art, despite misunderstandings and frauds within it, can freely and openly express emotions, in a way which is deprived of semblances and roles that we play in everyday life. It has the power to move one’s in time and space. Once finished, a painting is like a card from a diary – intimate and interrelated with its creator forever. It gives satisfaction and is the monument of hope. The recipient of art becomes an essential part of the painting: in my work, I give the viewer an opportunity to create his or her own ideas about the worlds I create, and to reach the truth I want to express both in a philosophical and aesthetic sense.” Untitled, 2016 Oil on canvas 100 x 70 cm

Stacked Dots and Lines, 2020 Oil on linen canvas 25 x 37 in.
Wendy Cohen is a Sydney-based artist who has attained a BFA as well as MFA Degrees. Her art practice focuses on the relationship of color, shape, line, and form with realistic components that are communicated in a painterly language. By integrating shapes into a cohesive body of colors and forms in conjunction with collage elements, flowing ideas are spontaneously manifested that bring attention to the brushstrokes, mark-making, and materiality on the surface of each painting. However, the primary focus of her practice is to transform the static space of each painting with synchronized contrasting colors highlighting its chemistry and resonance.

“Award-winning sculptor, painter and illustrator and former tertiary teacher for over 40 years, I am inspired by nature and human physicality. My watercolours and pen and ink work are semi-realistic with figures, birds, flowers and abstracted forms being my subject. My bronze sculptures are generally simplified figures or creatures, while my stone and wood carvings are abstracted with the shape and size of the material I`m working with dictating the final form. There is an emphasis on harmonious interpretations of nature and organic forms, showing undercutting and spatial awareness which leads to greater variations in values. I have been represented in over 70 group exhibitions and seven solo exhibitions. Since receiving a 5th and 3rd prize for Sculpture at the Florence Biennale in 2011 and 2015, I have been published in several World Wide Art Books curated by Despina Tunberg, 2017 – 21, Art Tour International Magazines Curated by Viviana Puello Grimandi, 2018-20, Australian Art Edit 2017-19 and Circle Magazine 2018-20, Art Universal The Great Encyclopedia of International Art Curated by Salvatore Russo & Francesco Saverio Russo 2020-21 and The Art Collectors Choice Contemporary Art Station 2020 United Kingdom. “My pictures are instruments, like runes, used for thousands of years by Northern peoples to invoke hidden aspects of reality. The real pictures, the images are not the lines and colors on my canvases, but the images coming into being in the mind of the onlooker. I have worked for many years to develop a technique suitable for my purpose. I use a variety of metals; gold, silver, brass, copper, aluminum, tin, smoked silver, palladium, platinum. If suitable I treat them chemically for the deeper layers of the artwork to come through and create new colors. I also use interference colors that change depending on the angle of view. This is difficult to get illustrated in static digital displays.”

“Over time, art has become essential to me primarily for one reason: Communication. I am a very quiet person and a very sensitive person. I tend not to reveal any more than I need to, especially to those that I don’t know. The ability to paint has given me a voice to express energy and feeling without the use of any words. Early on, inspiration would only stem from dark places, such as tension or frustration. However, as I continued to paint, I continued to learn more about myself. This led to constantly challenging myself to not only grow as an artist but as an individual as well. Every day that I get to visually express the thoughts and emotions that are flooding through my mind is a blessing. It is genuinely the most peaceful, relieving feeling that I have ever felt. To all of those who view my collection, I hope that there is a spark somewhere between my inner visions and yours. Leading with vibrant colors, whimsical strokes, and mediummixing – the results are entrancingly cosmic and left open to the interpretation of the viewer. Juliet Hillbrand plays with textures, materials, and natural elements like water and sand to add dimension to landscape scenes. Unable to be tamed to one style, her figurative realism pieces are often black and white, reflecting the feminine mystery and uncapturable air of divinity. After presenting in dozens of art shows and selling hundreds of pieces, Juliet’s collections are now scattered between the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. Currently open to her next exhibition or collaboration, she has received the recent honors of being interviewed by Art Qol, Studio Visit Magazine, Creative Paper, Edge of Humanity, featured as Artfinder’s ‘Artist of the Week,’ as well as being named in Art Reveal Magazine’s - ‘Artists to Watch.’

“Nowadays, everybody can be a photographer. Just with a smartphone you can get great photos. Is that true though? Is it the tools and the equipment that make the photographer? No talent is important anymore? What are the elements then that separate a talented photographer? Looking at Brian Hunt’s work, you get the answer to that question. Brian can take a shot of a landscape that no one would think is particularly interesting and transform it to a very impressive image. In his perspective, the foreground is the most important part of his subject - as if one is lying on the ground or swimming in the lake holding the lens low - and removing and reducing the main subject resulting in a spectacular and dramatic landscape.
Steeltown Study
His excellent use of light and shadow and the black color that dominates in all his subjects, whether it has to do with portraits and human figures, with objects in space, or with landscapes and his abstract mood in the surrounding space, gives a dramatic, dreamy and unreal dimension in his images. No, it is not the tools that make the photographer. Brian is incredibly talented and you can judge yourself by looking at his work.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

KLAO France
Contemplation Oil on canvas 80 x 80 cm
Méandre Oil on canvas 70 x 70 cm I wanted a cameo of red, within the center a tangle of lines, a meander of thoughts. Here, the color is the intense and living subject. One feels a positive and intoxicating energy when looking at it. I let my imagination run wild.
This painting is a hymn to nature. It is a focus of the idyllic imaginary garden where nature is abundant, benevolent and generous. One loses oneself there, one hides there, one is nourished there. The woman is protected there and she is in total osmosis with this exuberant nature.
KLAO is a French artist, based in the Paris metropolitan area. Selftaught and with no formal training, KLAO’s practice includes painting, sculpture, literature and music. “Living near Paris has allowed me to skim exhibitions, museums according to my desires. Painting is a source of intense emotion and fulfillment. For a very long time, admiring the works of artists was enough for my happiness. Insidiously, the desire to paint began to emerge to become a need. I tested several painting techniques with color and forms as a guiding thread, following my instinct without taboo or complex. I started with abstract, then I tried a figurative a little naive, with portraits and landscapes very stylized. I made a series on trees, objects of fascination and belief that touch me by their raw beauty. Women are a source of inspiration and I like to paint them proud, free, mysterious and multiple. I created my virtual exhibition site in 2020 in order to share my passion.” KLAO participated in two group shows in Galerie Libre est L’Arbre in Paris and her work is shown in a Parisian bank. Her work was included in the Art Prize Luxembourg 2020 and Painting of the year 2020 competitions.
American Dream Oil on canvas 60 x 80 cm A trip to New York was the inspiration for this series on megacities. They are bewitching and confusing at the same time because everything is huge, artificial. Their architecture is overwhelming with excess and extreme rectitude. I chose to represent them in a monochrome of gray and blue to express the coldness of these places. of these places.

“Arbre de vie” was born from a desire, from an attraction for the tree, this living element which until now was perceived as any plant. I had fun making a declination of color with orange and red dominance with a tree in contrast. Others in shades of blue. The desire to combine all these elements came to me and a series began. With “Douce nature”, I integrate a woman at the foot of the tree or the nymph “Calypso” in Homer’s Odyssey. The tree appeared quite quickly as a magical and mystical component in the first religions. When I started this series, I did it instinctively with my imagination, from my literary and cultural experience without any preconceived idea. As I advanced, I confess, I add symbolic elements that are close to my heart and I have fun playing with the codes and models.

This painting is part of a series on women. I like the idea of portraying women as goddesses, sometimes melancholic and mysterious, sometimes strong and willing. Painters inspired me of course, Klimt, Modigliani who knew how to paint the woman with a delicacy and an extreme sensuality. I chose to adorn them with bright colors and often surround them with nature like Frida Kahlo.
“Uniqueness, sensitivity, romantic mood, pleasure and simplicity characterize the work of KLAO. Intense colors and simple lines are the characteristic elements of her works. Inspired by the nature and the light of the moon, in combination with the gentle movement, her works give a dreamy dimension.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

This series allows me to experiment with other combinations and colors. I continue my exploration of trees and myths. In “Adam and Eve” I mix the tree of life, the myth of Eve, the rain, and the other source of life “the sun”. I have tried to translate into images what these different elements inspire me. Here, the colors are intense to express the energy and power of nature, the rain is multicolored like a rainbow. For the first time, I introduce the man who seems to spy on the woman leaning against the tree.

LIZE KRÜGER United Kingdom
Prisoner of My Own Making
The Innocents IV
“My work has mainly to do with creating awareness about social issues, grief and mental health. I dive deep into my own experiences and my ability to put myself in other people’s shoes to stay authentic with my expression, hoping that my audience can relate in one way or another. To me, Art is Life, and Life is Art. It is my daily oxygen. I am adamant about finding beauty in the darkest moments and honey in the bitter chalice.” Lize Krüger was born and educated in South Africa, where she obtained a BA degree in Fine Art. As a third and fourth-year student, she won the Gregoire Boonzaaier Prize for her major subject, painting. She had numerous solo exhibitions and took part in various group shows. She also taught art classes at a facility for underage rape victims and a facility for quadriplegic patients. In 2014, Lize relocated to the UK where she now lives and works in the countryside of West Sussex. Lize was invited to be part of the International Art Catalog WE CONTEMPORARY, by Musa Artspace and exhibition in March 2021 and participated in the WE CONTEMPORARY Art Show in Vienna, 2021. She was also invited to show at COLORIDA Art Gallery, Lisbon, Portugal (Dec. 4-17, 2021). Lize will be showing at Spectrum Brooklyn Art Fair with World Wide Art in September of 2021 and is also a participating artist at The ArtBox Project Art Fair in Geneva (August 2021). Her work was featured in The ArtMarket Magazine ( http:// artmarketmag.com/).

White Striations on Blue Reflected Water Photographic colour print 20 x 24 in.
“I am a Fine Art photographer working with a large format view camera. I use 5x4 colour transparency film and then get it converted to high-resolution digital files to retain the depth and sharpness of 5x4 film. I studied Fine Art, specializing in photography in the final year of my degree course. I used photography as a means of expression and have been preoccupied with it ever since.
Reflected Pale Grey/Blue on Wet Surface Photographic colour print 20 x 24 in.
My work is about a visual exploration of subject matter that I see in nature: within a seascape, landscape, or found objects within nature. The juxtaposition of nature and object, I feel, helps give a realization of our co-existence with nature. I deliberately use a large format film camera to enable the eye to see everything that I am seeing within the frame of my compositions. By doing this, I am taking a closer look to enhance every detail. My compositions become abstracted and play with the illusion of two dimensions. The interplay of light on surface texture sometimes defines my compositions and sometimes with an element of perspective ambiguity. In my philosophical vision, the notion of flattening a three-dimensional space may seem odd to the spectator or uneasy, nonetheless also a thing of beauty. Time in this way cannot be measured and scale not easily identified.”

English artist, David Lee was born in 1951. David studied at Ilkeston College but left early because of his professors’ insistence on copying when he already knew how to draw. David is largely a self-taught artist and his work doesn’t follow a specific school or movement. Lee has had numerous exhibitions all over England, including Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham and Brick Lane, London which as he describes were all “equally appreciated, but I like the ones with historical interest to me as in the Silk mill in Derby which is a World Heritage site relating to the first-ever jet engines and the original beginning of the Industrial Revolution.” David Lee has shown work in numerous group shows, including a show relating to the Pentrich Revolution (last attempt at overturning the government in England) which included authors, printmakers, potters and tapestry specialists. An awarded artist, his work has been published in magazines and books. Candle Power

“David’s refusal to follow artistic studies and follow his own inspiration, far from the influences and imitations of previous artists, led to the result of the uniqueness of his work. An incredibly talented artist, David Lee, is working in many different forms and styles. His work is characterized by perfection and diversity. Complex and labyrinthine architectural compositions with a unique style, give the impression that you can drill in and climb endlessly while in the Cubist-chess compositions you feel like you are diving into infinity. His expressive faces perfectly evoke the emotion of the subjects while the landscapes with the natural disasters and the weather phenomena have a dreamy dimension. Whatever the subject, when David puts his hands and his inspiration on the canvas, the result is a magnificent visual masterpiece.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

Matthew was encouraged to draw and paint by his late father since he can remember. He was also introduced to great works of art both past and contemporary at a young age. So, although he is selftaught in a strict sense, he counts many ideas among his influences, including impressionism and expressionism, existentialism and symbolism. This is Matthew’s first major recognition as an artist, having suffered major trauma as a young child and adult. He supported his painting by working in the healthcare field for most of his life and gave away many of his works to family and friends.

Darcy Meeker was born in 1946 in Idaho and today lives in Blacksburg, Virginia. “Thirty years ago, I was a faculty member at the University of Florida, when my “hands got hungry.” I carved my first stone at a two-day workshop and traded it with the teacher for a set of tools and a new stone. I soon moved to Blacksburg to carve out a new life. In this life, I tool copper (from earrings to 38-foot sculpture) and create works in stone, clay, silk, pewter and aluminum. My commissions have included the Baptismal Font and Easter Cross for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Baltimore MD and a large public sculpture for General Electric Corporation in Schenectady NY, plus another for the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg VA. I have work in private homes from coast to coast. Now, I created The Color Project TM (TCPTM), a kinetic art experience of projective, refractive and reflective 3D installations. TCPTM offers a new way of exploring and experiencing the colorful world around us.”

A German resident, Amarnath Viswanath was born in India in 1941. He graduated with a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta, India, and completed studies at the Ceramic College in Germany with a degree in Ceramic Engineering. Amarnath uses almost exclusively acrylic colors for his paintings. He started with abstract images but now tends more and more toward landscape works, most of which are memories of his time spent in the USA. Amarnath has exhibited in group exhibitions in Italy, Germany, and the USA, including N3 Art World Wide Exhibition in Tuscany, and Aspen Art Gallery, Aspen Colorado as well as Art Expo New York and in Miami with Art Fusion.
“Amarnath Viswanath, a talented artist working on many different styles, utilizes the diversity of the texture and experiments with mixed techniques, where the colors are harmoniously combined. Thus, he gives compositions where the realism merges with the schematic and the final result is charged with a symbolic meaning. His urban landscapes with the harmonious colors and the gentle use of light offer a soothing and at the same time full of motion image while his abstract images, full of color and light offer a delight to the viewer.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

Natalia Rose Denmark
Natalia Rose is a Danish artist best known for her semi-abstract works which feature pictograph-like symbols painting with broad and heavy brushstrokes. The artist raises questions about the nature of communication and the way in which one can express abstract and conceptual ideas through color and iconographic markings. For example, in her painting “I” (2016), the artist uses only essential strokes to spell out his name and create patterns of letters across the canvas. Born in 1953 in Stavropol, Russia she studied at the Moscow State University and later at the University of Copenhagen. In 2014, Natalia held her first exhibition in Copenhagen and since in New York, Paris, Amsterdam, and London. Today, her works are held in private collections across the world, in Canada, Spain, Sweden among others. Natalia Rose lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.

“Although a native of Atlanta Georgia, I have lived in Winter Park, Florida for over 20 years. In 1997, I moved to Sofia, Bulgaria where I took my first art class. I was hooked. Twenty years and three children later, I still love to paint. I specialize in oils, where children are among my favorite subjects to paint. Initially, I illustrated my two sons then, when my daughter arrived, I included her images in my works. As my family grows, my love and interest in painting continue to grow. My works have expanded to include commissioned pieces for collectors, and I continue diversifying the scope of my paintings to keep my interests fresh, such as landscapes, architecture, and sealife. Bright colors as well as thick and layered paints are central to my work. Influenced by the works of Susie Pryor (bold passion and reflection) and Carolyn Anderson (yin and yang, light and dark, warm and cool), I am inspired to experiment, sweeping from abstract to realism. Painting is an ever-changing journey that never ends. And I love to travel.”

Hege works with abstract and non-figurative art, but also more realistic expressions, and has participated in several exhibitions together with other artists. Bridging Point, 2018 Paper & acrylic on canvas 100 x 80 cm
Hege finds inspiration in nature but is also fascinated with the industrial world and the man-made. Contrast is an important tool, and with lines, shapes and colors, she seeks to let each element maintain its individual purpose while at the same time support and play along with each other to create something greater. She has a desire to make the chaotic and inaccessible more available – yet, to fracture the known and “restore” chaos. Hege’s vision, both artistically as well as in all aspects of her life, is to be happy and focus on what feels lighter. And she finds great potential for that in creating her art.

Secrets Below Surface Beyond, 2019 Acrylic on canvas 120 x 100 cm
Tale of the Zeitgeist, 2020 Acrylic on canvas 80 x 60 cm
“According to Hege’s words, her purpose is to feel joy, satisfaction and happiness. And it is precisely these feelings that the viewer feels when looking at her works. Beautiful, harmoniously combined colors, reflect light and emit shine. Simple lines and clear colors are characteristic of her work. clear lines that inspire clear emotions. Inspired by urban scenes with a clearly architectural - albeit abstract - mood and sometimes inspired by nature, she marries these two themes together, creating a third dimension that refers to both, without a divisive line as to where the one ends and the other begins. ‘Harma ofthalmon’ is how the ancient Greeks would put it which means ‘A pleasure to the eye’ Is what Hege’s work is.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

CLAUDIA CRISTINA VELASCO Mexico
“Christina’s work can be mainly characterized as multicultural. Her Mexican origin is clearly seen in the background of her works but in the foreground dominate the themes of the countries she visited or lived and studied. The Turkish dervishes in their endless circular movement in front of Aztec frescoes motifs marry different cultures in a dynamic and dreamy and imaginative composition while her sculptures clearly show the influence from the depths of the East but also from the Aztec origins that seem to be so deeply rooted in her that emerge in every expression. Multi talented artist, Cristina, composes unique works depositing on the canvas or any other medium the experience of her life with talent and sensitivity and many times with a dreamy mood that captives and seduces the viewer.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator

New York 2018-08-11 Acrylic on canvas 18 x 24 in.
Q. Wang developed his unique painting style —freeism, by using free colors, free shapes, free strokes, and free perspective to create his artworks. The result is a free atmosphere and a space of imagination. “Generally speaking, before Manet, people tried to paint alike, after Manet, peoples try to paint dislike. It’s a broken process. Monet broke the brush, Van Gogh broke the plane, Matisse broke colors, Miro broke Shapes, Picasso broke the construction, abstraction broke the object.” Before Van Gogh, people painted what they saw, and let the viewers see what they painted. Since Van Gogh, people began to paint what they thought, and let the viewers think what they painted. But Q. Wang paints spirit, something you can not see and you can not think, you can only feel it by heart. His paintings have no details but have characters. Each work is unique. Traditional Western art tends to tell stories. Traditional Chinese art is like a poem. Q. Wang’s art is musical. As the famous French film producer Jean-Luc Godard said, “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.” “Q. Wang has taken me further into the appreciation of my surroundings, people, and love. That is what art is all about.” - Gary Sorkin

Q. WANG United States
“Q. Wang’s compositions are characterized by the simplicity of the lines and the clarity of the colors. For the artist the space is open and simple so as to make his subject more important so as to attract the absolute attention of the viewer. Thus, he gives compositions where the realist merges with the schematic and the final result is strengthened with a symbolic meaning.” - Despina Tunberg, Curator New York 2018-05-31 Acrylic on canvas 30 x 40 in.
