Anita Alexander Swarup is an artist based just outside London in Surrey. She has a BA (Hons) Art History from the University of Sussex, UK. She works with mixed media, acrylics and charcoal combined with photographs that she has taken. This element of collage creates a compelling impact. Anita’s work is characterized by its energy and light, which is impressionistic and atmospheric. The works ask you to feel and experience and not to ‘think’; to experience time, place, light, color, weight, water and the mood. The works draw the viewer into the artist’s vision, emitting energy and warmth.

www.yvanbedardphotonature.com yvan@yvanbedardphotonature.com Bedard has developed his own rigorous digital solarization technique that partially reverses positive to negative spaces of the photographs. He innovates twice by solarizing color photographs and landscape photographs. This unique combination goes well beyond the usual solarization of B&W nudes or portraits. It blurs the line with paintings. Bedard offers a celebration for the eye and mysterious worlds, allowing for spectacular metaphors for both outwards and inwards feelings.

WENDY COHEN
www.wendycohen.net.au IG: wendycohen123 wendycoh@bigpond.net.au Wendy Cohen is a Sydney-based artist who has attained a BFA as well as MFA Degrees. Her art practice focuses on the relationship of color, shape, line, and form with realistic components that are communicated in a painterly language. By integrating shapes into a cohesive body of colors and forms in conjunction with collage elements, flowing ideas are arbitrarily manifested that bring attention to the brushstrokes, mark-making, and materiality on the surface of each painting. However, the primary focus of her practice is to transform the static space of each painting with synchronized contrasting colors highlighting its chemistry and resonance.

“My art philosophy is a simple one, it’s a journey, a journey that begins with an expression of myself and ends with a final product. I travel throughout each and every one of my artworks, experiencing a unique connection, with each piece as I create it. The materials, the mixing of the paint, the sound of the brush strokes against the surface, My own personal emotions and thoughts are combined, as I start my journey from beginning to end. If I can explain this in any other way, it would be me in my own world.”

“I have always had a love for the arts, and portrait painting, painting of people and scenes of the majestic outdoors, has become a focus of mine. I often paint with acrylics in winter and oils in summer. My family and friends are part of my journey and my inspirations because they are often the subject of my work.

“As a small child, I grew up on the Islands of the Bahamas, so I have a great affinity for Beaches, nautical life, and how it is reflected in the faces of the Bahamian people. In my paintings, my imagery, use of texture and pattern, are intended to give the viewers a sensational experience, while the eyes give the viewer an entry to the soul. In my water-scapes, I portray flowing water, creating patterns and textures, imparting a soothing tone. I utilize patterns and texture in my work, to create paintings within paintings and convey a true love for the elements involved.

FRANK KNOUREK frankknourek@icloud.com
Frank Knourek had started painting in 2018 when he was 90 years old and lost the mobility to stand without support. Because of that malady, he was in search of activities he could do while sitting down. He chose computer art but that was not a natural choice because he never had schooling or training in drawing. His professional life was absorbed in the analysis of numbers, as he holds two degrees unrelated to the arts. He was always interested in color due to his flower gardening days. The contrast of colors, the desire to show depth and motion in his abstract art has always been the goal. Frank has enjoyed being a self-learner and using the trial and error method rather than the more formal methods of gaining knowledge. He does spend time learning about the trends and issues that painting artists are confronted with and is well aware of the painting styles that exist all over the world.

JEAN JACCQUES PORRET www.jjporret.com jj@jjporret.com
“Born in Switzerland, in 1941, to a prominent family of art and antique collectors, I started to sculpt wood at a very young age. I was drawn to and learned the technique of bronze and lost wax casting ‘because it is the most demanding material which is responsive and sweet to the touch.’ My work is figurative but is not about the figure. I consider myself an expressionist as I am more interested in communicating an abstract feeling or idea than an actual image.”

She graduated at the Architectural Association and for a time practiced, but her marriage to Ivor Porter, a member of the Foreign Office, made this impractical. It took her, however, to Cyprus, Strasbourg, India, Geneva, and Senegal. When they returned to London she began to sculpt. Katerina works directly in clay without preliminary drawing and always from a model. She has exhibited widely, in Provence, Belgium, and England, including the Royal Academy and NEAC. She lives in London and Provence and is still a member of the Architectural Association.
