The body is governed by the Broward Workforce Development Board, whose representatives include community-based organizations, private businesses and educational institutions.

The Council of Elected Officials for CareerSource Broward consists of the elected mayors of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, and a Broward County Commissioner.

RESPONSE TO THE EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON THE JOB MARKET

The 2020 unemployment rate in Broward County rose massively as companies throughout the region had to lay off thousands of workers.
