Meet Mrs Bucket Lucy Maunder Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s Mrs Bucket reminds us that even in a world of pure imagination, a mother’s love never goes unnoticed. Melbourne local and star of the stage Lucy Maunder brings this character to life, in what’s set to be a must-see musical this season. Rizzo from Grease, Miss Honey from Matilda and Cynthia Weil in Beautiful: the Carole King Musical are just a few of the characters Lucy Maunder has brought to life on stage, so it’s no surprise her childhood was steeped in the performing arts. “I remember going to see a lot of shows on the West End,” she says. “I went to see Starlight Express about 12 times and listened to the cast album on a daily basis. My parents are both wonderful artists and directors and performers.” In her sweetest role yet, this season she’ll become the caring and earnest Mrs Bucket in the heartwarming Roald Dahl classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, playing at Her Majesty’s Theatre from 9 August. "This is a much-loved story about what can happen when you put your mind and focus into something that means so much to you. Charlie comes from a very poor family to defy all odds."

With your mykis in hand, hop onboard a Route 57 tram towards West Maribyrnong to stop 12 (North Melbourne Town Hall and Queensberry Street).
