8 The WWT CHAMPIONSHIP'S NEW CHAPTER IN LOS CABOS: A Conversation with Joe Mazzeo 8

Diamante Luxury Resort Prepares to Shine as Host for the PGA Tour: Insights from Mike Abbott

Letter from the editor

Dear readers,

We are thrilled to present our Golf Special Edition! In celebration of the upcoming World Wide Technology Championship, an event set to reshape our destination's landscape and elevate it to new heights, we have crafted this issue to provide our readers with insights into golf in Los Cabos, the WWT Championship PGA Tour, and, of course, its host, Diamante.

How does a venue prepare for such a prestigious event? What does it signify for Los Cabos as a destination? What can we anticipate from the tournament? These are the questions that surfaced when the tournament was announced, and we were fortunate enough to have them answered by the individuals who are orchestrating it all. Diamante warmly opened its doors to us, eager to showcase its splendor and hospitality.

Within these pages, you will discover a captivating interview with Joe Mazzeo, the Tournament Director of the WWT Championship, who shared his insights and explained why Los Cabos is the ideal venue for this event. Additionally, you will find an exclusive interview with Mike Abbott, the VP of Operations at Legacy Residences, who provided us with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Diamante's preparations for the event. Another inspiring story featured here is that of Diamante's First Tee Program, a remarkable initiative conceived by Diamante's visionary homeowners, paving the way for future generations of golfers.

Our edition also includes a concise tournament guide, a fascinating article on designing a golfer's dream home by Barrie Livingstone, and a map displaying all the golf courses in Los Cabos categorized as private, semi-private, and public.

We had the privilege of sitting down with Ken Jowdy, the CEO of Diamante, for an unforgettable interview. He shared his remarkable journey, from his first step onto Baja soil to the moment he comprehended the magnitude of the project he had undertaken. It is stories like Mr. Jowdy's that have played a pivotal role in shaping Los Cabos into the internationally renowned destination it is today.

As a golfer myself, creating this edition alongside my team has been a career highlight. When I was a little girl, my parents encouraged me to take up golf, thinking it was merely a pastime to keep me busy outdoors. Little did they know that learning this beautiful sport would not only shape my professional life but also my personal character. The impact of golf's values on individuals, whether they are professionals or spectators, and on the community as a whole, is truly profound. Connecting with the individuals who are making this all possible, hearing their stories, and transforming them into content for our cherished readers is what makes this edition exceptionally special.

Summer was a season of growth for Destino, and we couldn't be more thrilled to announce that we now have an office in San Jose del Cabo and a new radio program on EXA FM 103.9! You can visit us in the heart of San Jose del Cabo; our location is marked on the map on the last pages of the magazine. Additionally, don't forget to tune in every Thursday at 12:00 p.m. to catch our Baja 101 program. We're incredibly grateful to EXA for this collaboration!

We hope you enjoy every page of this edition and thank you for choosing another issue of Destino Magazine!

IN LOS cabos: THE World Wide Technology Championship'S

The golf world is preparing for an unprecedented event as the World Wide Technology Championship debuts against the breathtaking backdrop of Los Cabos. Featuring stunning landscapes, world-class courses, and a legacy of family-friendly enjoyment, this tournament promises a distinctive experience for players and spectators alike. Dana Gimenez, our editor-in-chief, had the privilege of conversing with Joe Mazzeo, the tournament director for our region’s PGA TOUR event, to gain an insider's perspective on what distinguishes this event and how it all comes together.

Dana: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your involvement in the tournament?

Joe: I'd be happy to! My name is Joe Mazzeo. I have the privilege of being the tournament director for the World Wide Technology Championship. I've worked in golf for a very, very long time, including running this PGA TOUR event since 2007. I’m originally from California, and I'm thrilled to be here in Los Cabos as we're starting this new chapter for the tournament here at Diamante.

Dana: Why do you think Cabo is the perfect venue for this tournament?

Joe: Los Cabos has turned out to be an incredible place for the tournament. When you think of golf in Mexico you, of course, think of Los Cabos. The number of incredible golf courses that we have in Los Cabos, and particularly El Cardonal in Diamante, have proven that Cabo San Lucas is an awesome venue; not just because of the golf itself but because of everything from amenities to the way the venues are set up for operations and logistics.

The experience for not only the professionals, but for the spectators and the fans, is going to be off the charts because of everything that Los Cabos has to offer as a destination- the beach, the sun, and the gastronomy!

Dana: Diamante is known for its stunning course and beautiful surroundings. How do you think these factors will contribute to the overall involvement of players and nonparticipants during the tournament?

Joe: I think you hit on something that’s absolutely spot on which is the golf course itself and its surroundings. When we talk about the golf course, we talk about the challenges it will present to the professionals, so it's going to make for an incredible competition. We think of it as a course that is very scenic and very challenging, but it has its opportunities for birdies. I expect to see a competition that's very fun and very exciting for the spectators. It’s a tough but fair challenge!

That’s what Tiger Woods was aiming for when designing the course, and we all know just how spectacular El Cardonal is! We’re working hard to create an event that’s more than just the competition, but also a true 360 experience; from food, drinks, entertainment, and the opportunity to socialize and network, that's really what we're striving for. We're going to have a lot of action, a lot of energy, and a lot of excitement in a pretty condensed area where you can sort of move and get a taste of everything that's going on.

So we think it's going to be good here at El Cardonal and Diamante; for both those professionals who are competing for that 8.2 million-dollar purse and for all those fans who are coming out to enjoy the action!

Dana: As the Tournament Director, could you share some insights into the preparations and logistics involved in organizing a major PGA TOUR tournament like this?

Joe: Running a PGA TOUR event is a very unique and specific sort of task when you consider everything that goes into it. What we're building, for one week, is a micro-city that can essentially operate by itself when you think of food, beverage, infrastructure, and spaces that we build to be used temporarily.

So, a lot of logistics- everything from constructing temporary structures on the golf course where people will be able to be up high and enjoy the action, to bringing in additional catering, where all the people can come and enjoy the great culinary experiences that Cabo has, to things like going out and recruiting volunteers. The golf tournament depends on about six or seven hundred individuals who participate as volunteers, doing everything from helping us with the scoring of the tournament itself to controlling what we call the galleries and then other logistical and operational things like helping people get from here to there. So there’s a lot of people management in that regard.

Lastly, and of course probably the most important, is making sure that we're showcasing Mexico, Los Cabos, and Diamante; the beauty of this destination, the ocean, the desert, the climate, the food, the people, the warmth, and the hospitality. Making sure all of those logistical and operational elements tie back into our objective, which is celebrating Los Cabos and Mexico!

Dana: Could you tell us about the golf course and how it presents a unique challenge to the players?

Joe: El Cardonal is going to be a really exciting course to watch the professionals play. It is the first course Tiger Woods designed. It's really an honor, for me personally, but also for all of us involved with the tournament to be able to stage a PGA Tour event on a course that the greatest golfer of all time designed!

What I think they created when they built El Cardonal is a golf course that harkens back to where Tiger grew up in Southern California. That style of golf course where the desert, the arroyos, and the native vegetation surround the course and come into play a little bit if your ball goes offline. Also, there are a lot of opportunities for birdies out there for these professionals.

These are the best players in the world on the PGA TOUR. The level of talent that they have is off the charts! So, I think we're going to see both sides of that coin, where you have players who can get out there and hopefully make some birdies. But you're also going to see some guys struggle. You might see some big numbers out there. That's what you really want when you talk about a golf course testing professionals.

Dana: Golf technology and data analytics have been making waves in recent years. Are there any tech innovations being incorporated into the tournament, both on and off the course?

Joe: Well, I think that's a great question and one that is perfectly appropriate given that our title sponsor is World Wide Technology, a Saint Louis-based tech company. When they became the title sponsor of this tournament, they infused a large impulse with the technology in the way that we operate and run the event. A lot of the backup house type of things, in terms of the guest management, the logistics, and the operations are critical in how the world is moving these days. So, we have WWT to thank for the leadership on that front. Within golf, I think there are multiple ways that you're seeing technology manifesting itself.

For example, data and technology are a big part of the conditioning of El Cardonal. Diamante has a wonderful team, and we’re taking it to another level entirely. Honestly, I

know just enough to be dangerous. I'm not an agronomist nor one of the superintendents but a lot of things are done with the soil quality, and the chemicals in the water levels of the different fertilizers and materials to make that golf course pop, from both a visibility and playability standpoint.

Also, it's a tool for the players themselves with the technology and data that they use for their statistics. Golf, well, it's a very simple game: whoever puts the ball in the hole with the least number of strokes is the winner. It's pretty simple but there's a lot of sophistication in terms of tech; the ball speed, the swing speed, the rotation, the approach, the angles, the yardages. The players are leaning in to get every little advantage, every little edge that they can using devices that enable them to see all their data instantly.

The last is the television broadcast for that viewer who's at home watching the PGATOUR. On television, you are seeing that technology that the players themselves have been leaning on and learning from to enhance their game. You're seeing that incorporated into the broadcast, with things like trackman, shot trackers, and shot tracers that show you where the ball is going, where the winds are coming from, and how that affects the play based on all that data that is coming. That’s driven by the Shotlink System, which is the PGA TOUR’s proprietary system. All of that statistical data boils down to the scores. We all know the score but it doesn't tell the whole story- the stats do.

Dana: Can you share any memorable insights from past editions of the tournament that highlight its unique character?

Joe: As many probably are aware, the tournament has been celebrated in the Riviera Maya for the last 16 years. One of the things that's always made the event special and noteworthy is the presence of families and the way that the players have embraced this tournament as a bit of a working vacation. We've been measured over the years and the WWT Championship is the event that most families attend.

Dana: Can you tell us how the event comes together and who makes it all possible?

Joe: Absolutely! It's a massive effort from so many different people, but it all starts with our title sponsor WWT, as they’re the force behind making this event a reality. We’re fortunate to have incredible partners. First and foremost, Diamante as our host venue has been absolutely spectacular in preparing the golf course and the entire resort. They’ve welcomed us with open arms, and we found an incredible home here. Additionally, the people from Los Cabos and the tourism promotion board have been good friends and have opened the door for us to become a part of the community!

Dana: What message would you like to send our readers?

Joe: I would love to send the message to the readers that you need to be a part of this! We want to invite everybody to come out and enjoy and experience the PGA TOUR when it arrives here in Los Cabos for the World Wide Technology Championship. We've got so much exciting stuff planned! Come on out, get your tickets, and get involved! It's going to be unlike anything that Los Cabos has ever seen and we're just so thrilled and honored to be a part of this community.

About DUNES and COURSES:

The Story of Ken Jowdy and Diamante

Dunes and dreams are shaped by wind and tides. When wind or water carrying sand slows down or encounters an obstacle, it drops the sand particles it was transporting, forming a dune. Amid the shifting sands of Baja’s stunning dunes, we delve into the extraordinary journey of Ken Jowdy and Diamante.

Dunes serve many purposes, from erosion control to providing habitat for wildlife. They can filter and purify water and offer protection from storms. However, perhaps the most captivating trait of Baja’s dunes is their striking resemblance to the linksland in Scotland, where golf was born.

In 2003, Ken Jowdy arrived in Los Cabos in search of property that aligned perfectly with his vision. His venture into the world of real estate began at an early age, thanks to his father's involvement in commercial real estate in Connecticut.

As Ken grew, so did his passion for the real estate industry. He had been exploring the possibilities of creating a golf resort and destination in the region and had scouted Baja for the ideal spot for a while before he received a call.

He was on his way to the airport when his broker called to say that a piece of property that hadn't seen the market in 40 years was ready to sell. Ken contemplated his departure for the airport, planning to return on the following Tuesday if an appointment could be scheduled upon his return. “If you get on that airplane, this property will be sold by Tuesday,” his broker explained. The sands of opportunity were shifting rapidly,

and he could not afford to let the chance slip away.

He turned his car around and within 30 minutes, struck a handshake deal with the landowner – a transaction that would mark the beginning of a remarkable journey. How Diamante came to be is a remarkable story but perhaps one of the most special chapters is the one that encompasses those first six months after the purchase.

The previous owner was an elderly man who had been getting his affairs in order for his family. He knew and loved Baja and showed Ken the lay of the land. Day after day, they’d explore the dunes and desert landscapes.

“I started coming to spend time with him. He put me in his Jeep Liberty and drove me all around this property because he knew every inch of it. He had it for 40 years, and he loved it. It was so special to him that I wanted to spend as much time with him getting to know it,” Ken shared. “Those six months were invaluable to me,” he added.

That was his introduction to Baja California Sur, where he learned about the dunes and the way they move. It was when his deep respect for this land was born.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Ken's journey is his collaboration with renowned golf course designers like Davis Love and Tiger Woods. Together with Love, Ken designed a golf course that seamlessly integrated the property's natural dunes, creating a golfing experience

reminiscent of the game's origins in Scotland and Ireland, but with 360 sunny days a year. The Dunes Course has been ranked as high as number 36 in the world by Golf Magazine.

Ken chose to work with designers who are not just great in their craft but also embrace the challenge of creating golf courses accessible to players of all levels. They aim to craft courses that cater to both the weekend golfers and the Wednesday regulars, who may face more challenges on the fairways.

Their collaborative spirit and shared commitment to excellence have made their partnership successful, as they meticulously craft each mound, turn, bunker, and green, always striving to create a golf experience for players at every level. This course gained recognition from Golf Magazine, ranking as high as 36th in the world.

In 2011, a friend asked Ken Jowdy if he was interested in talking to TGR Design because they were interested in doing a golf course. “If you're in the golf business and someone asks you if you want to talk to Tiger Woods about anything, I think the answer would be ‘yes!’” he shared. Driven by the opportunity to work with one of the greatest figures in the sport, this led to the creation of the El Cardonal Course and The Oasis Short Course.

“Being the best isn't just about talent; it's about drive, persistence, commitment, work ethic, and pride. When you have the opportunity to work with someone who has these qualities, they won't limit excellence to just one aspect of

their life, be it playing golf or anything else. The greatest become the greatest because they strive for excellence in everything they do. And I've been fortunate enough to be around people like that. If you have the opportunity to be around people like that, you always take it” Ken Jowdy shared about working with Tiger Woods and his team.

As Diamante has evolved, it has transformed into what resembles a small city in its distinct corner of the world, featuring diverse neighborhoods to suit various lifestyles. The crowning achievement in this development was the establishment of the Legacy Residences, proudly offering the coveted country club experience and meeting the high expectations of their homeowners. Nevertheless, their unwavering commitment has remained centered on providing exceptional service, regardless of their clients' varying preferences and budgets.

Ken has transformed the challenges of embarking on a project like Diamante in a foreign country into valuable lessons. He recognizes the importance of showing respect for both the land and the local community. Acknowledging that things operate with a unique flavor in Los Cabos compared to the United States can be challenging. However, Ken's decision to bring local experts into his business has been a game-changer. It's all about

building a reliable team, and their contribution has been crucial to Diamante's success. How a leader talks about their team speaks volumes about their leadership style, often more than any awards they've earned.

Reflecting on his journey, Ken Jowdy shared a heartfelt story. He recalled a moment when his responsibilities expanded beyond himself. It was when they decided to celebrate Children's Day for their growing team in Diamante. As the buses rolled in, the line of excited children seemed never-ending, and it suddenly dawned on him –the immense responsibility he now carried. Ken

shared his profound realization, saying, 'That was the first time I felt there was a little bit more I'm going to have to do here.' This experience ignited a new sense of purpose, a dedication not only to succeed but also to ensure the well-being of his team and their families.

Hosting the PGA Tour event, the World Wide Technology Championship, at his resort is further proof of Ken's dedication to showcasing Cabo and its culture to the world. This prestigious event not only highlights the beauty of the region but also has a positive impact on the local community by drawing attention to Cabo and elevating its recognition in the golf world. Collaborating with golf course designers and architects to create a golf course that appeals to both players and critics has been a delicate process. Working with the best is a learning experience.

In the story of Ken Jowdy and Diamante, we find an inspiring reminder that life's most remarkable achievements often stem from seizing opportunities, nurturing respect for the land, and fostering unwavering dedication to excellence. It’s hard to tell if Ken Jowdy shaped the dunes into a golf course or if the dunes shaped him. Who knows what would have happened if the wind had taken him elsewhere? But as the sands of time continue to shape Diamante's legacy, one thing remains certain: the future shines bright.

Planting Seeds for a Brighter Future:

The First Tee Program at Diamante

What happens when the elegance of golf intertwines with the power of altruistic initiative? In the heart of Diamante resides a couple who personifies the essence of igniting positive community transformations – Jim and Ginny Panoff. What started as a conversation during the challenging days of June 2020 has blossomed into something remarkable. "What can we do to give back to all the kids in Cabo?" This simple question, inspired by their grandson and a group of visionary home owner’s suggestion, led to the inception of Diamante's First Tee Program —an endeavor that goes far beyond the golf course.

A "First Tee Program" typically refers to a program that involves teaching and promoting the game of golf, particularly to beginners, children, or individuals new to the sport. Within a mile radius of Diamante, there is a community of nearly fifteen hundred children under the age of sixteen. Recognizing the potential impact they could make, the Panoffs and their team embarked on their mission. They harnessed the power of social media to spread the word, resulting in a remarkable response: within just a day, a waiting list of nearly 100 children eager to join the program had formed.

The program runs every Saturday, totaling 36 weekends throughout the year, with a break during the summer due to the heat and weather conditions. Impressively, their most recent session saw the registration of 130 enthusiastic kids, many of whom are children of Diamante employees. They are brought in on the Diamante employee bus. The program's care extends to providing essential amenities such as snacks, breakfast, and a nourishing hot lunch. To equip them fully, the kids receive hats, shirts, water bottles, and all the necessary equipment required for their active participation in the program.

centered around the core value and the game of golf itself. An impressive ratio of one adult for every four children ensures personalized attention and care. Each week, around thirty-five dedicated adults contribute their time, acting as coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteers who keep the program running smoothly. Their collective efforts aim not just to improve golf skills, but also to instill enduring values that extend beyond the realm of sport.

The First Tee Program not only encourages physical activity but also forms bridges of friendship among children from diverse backgrounds. These interactions are particularly crucial given the isolation experienced by many due to the pandemic. Some of them had not interacted with other children in months! It cultivates leadership among older kids, who serve as role models for the younger participants.

The opportunity to learn golf presents itself as a unique advantage. The program's generosity levels the playing field, opening doors for underserved communities. For some, this may serve as a stepping stone to scholarships and even a shot at a professional career. The dream of a Los Cabos kid playing on the PGA tour isn't far-fetched, thanks to the groundwork laid by the First Tee Program.

This remarkable endeavor finds its roots in the generosity of the patrons of Diamante, particularly its founders who have displayed unwavering dedication to this cause. These philanthropists invested not only their financial resources but their hearts and souls into the program. Through their generosity, the First Tee Program has flourished, illuminating the potential that lies within individuals and organizations when they commit to a shared goal. Their support exemplifies the power of community-driven initiatives and showcases the potential of individuals to make a lasting impact.

The curriculum aligns with First Tee's core values. Each week, a specific value is highlighted, with golf lessons designed to impart valuable life skills. For instance, a focus on 'honesty' might lead to lessons on sound judgment. Another value, 'courtesy,' sets the tone for interactions by encouraging respectful greetings and behaviors.

Before the kids are grouped by age and skill, the value of the week is explored in depth. Reflective discussions delve into its relevance in golf, friendships, family, school, and community settings. The children then engage in various games and activities

This is an enterprise that Ken Jowdy, CEO of Diamante, holds particularly close to his heart. He shared that connecting to his employees through their children gave his role in the resort a new sense of purpose. With each swing of a club and every exchange of wisdom, the First Tee Program shapes not only the lives of the children it embraces but also the landscape of Cabo's community. As the sun sets on another Saturday at Diamante, it casts a warm glow on the seeds of promise planted by the First Tee Program.

DIAMANTE LUXURY RESORT

PREPARES TO SHINE AS HOST FOR THE PGA TOUR:

Insights from Mike Abbott

olf enthusiasts and spectators eagerly anticipate the first week of November as Diamante Luxury Resort in Cabo San Lucas gears up to host the much-anticipated World Wide Technology Championship. The corridors adorned with spectacular courses and a thriving tourism industry emphasize golf's importance in Cabo. We spoke to Mike Abbott, VP of Legacy Properties, and he shared exclusive insights into the resort's preparations and the excitement swirling around this prestigious tournament.

From the early stages of development, when Ken Jowdy laid the foundation of what was to become a golf haven, Mike Abbott's involvement has been vital. After the opening of the Dunes Course, he set out to pursue other golf related business opportunities, always with the promise of coming back for the opening of Diamante’s third course.

With a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the sport, when the tournament organizers set their eyes on Los Cabos as a potential host, Abbott directed them to El Cardonal, the second course built at Diamante, setting the stage for the journey that has now culminated in Diamante hosting the PGA TOUR event and signing a five-year contract.

"Cabo San Lucas has always had great golf," he explains. This event, Mike believes, is an opportunity to validate Cabo as a golf paradise on the global stage as well as display everything this destination has to offer; from its scenery to its gastronomy.

How does a resort prepare for an event of this magnitude? As anticipation builds, Mike Abbott provides a sneak peek into the forthcoming PGA TOUR EVENT. Central to the excitement is the El Cardonal golf course

at Diamante, designed by none other than golf legend Tiger Woods. This course is Diamante’s second championship course and Tiger’s first-ever golf course design. "The venue itself sets up for great golf," Abbott enthuses.

Turning the spotlight to the challenges that the El Cardonal golf course poses to players, Abbott highlights Tiger Woods' emphasis on shotmaking and strategic decision-making. The course's variety of hole angles, challenging green complexes, and diverse shot values provide a testing ground that requires players to think critically about their approach. It's a course that invites players to showcase their versatility and creativity, in line with Tiger Woods' approach to the sport.

The player lineup is a topic that naturally intrigues many, and Mike Abbott sheds light on what to expect. While the exact lineup will evolve as the event approaches, Cabo's charm and the allure of the El Cardonal golf course are expected to attract a mix of established stars and emerging talents. Abbott notes that Cabo's reputation as a destination for both relaxation and recreation could encourage top-ranked players to participate. Beyond the on-course competition, Abbott believes that the sense of community and camaraderie will resonate with players and attendees alike.

The impact this event will have on this destination is nothing short of history in the making. “They aren’t going to be just taking pictures of golfers hitting the ball into the hole- they’ll be showing Cabo San Lucas!” shares Abbott. With over 30 hours of TV broadcasted not only in Mexico and The US but the whole world, Los Cabos will be magnified, which is a big reason why locals and businesses of all sizes should get behind this tournament. “It’s a great opportunity to show off to the whole community so I hope everybody puts on their Sunday best!”

This PGA TOUR event is more than a mere showcase of golf—it's an invitation to immerse oneself in the heartwarming hospitality that Cabo is renowned for. With a keen emphasis on fostering a family-friendly ambiance, the tournament has been curated to cater to all kinds of attendees, from seasoned golf aficionados to those discovering the sport for the first time.

“That's truly the essence of golf – it has the power to unite individuals and families. Golf's charm lies in its ability to bring people together. It's not just about playing the sport; it's about enjoying a walk, spending quality time with your family, soaking in the sunshine, and enjoying some great food. Even if I were a professional golfer attending the tournament, I'd bring my family along to savor the day because that's how I define the spirit of golf,” he shared.

As the World Wide Technology Championship approaches, it carries with it the promise of not only showcasing exceptional golfing talent but also uniting people through the love of the sport This event encapsulates the very spirit of Cabo San Lucas – a place where scenic beauty, friendly hospitality, and the joy of coming together converge. As the world watches and Cabo takes center stage, it's a testament to the power of sport to transcend boundaries and create lasting memories. The World Wide Technology Championship isn't just a golf tournament; it's a celebration of community, passion, and the remarkable essence of Cabo itself.

DESIGNING A

Paradise on the Greens GOLFER’S DREAM HOME:

For avid golfers, the allure of living on or near a golf course is undeniable. Imagine stepping out of your property and onto lush fairways, with the rhythmic swish of clubs, the distant thud of balls and in Diamante, the roaring sound of the pacific as a backdrop to everyday life.

Designing a home that seamlessly integrates with your love for golf requires careful consideration and a touch of creativity. In this article, I delve into the world of home design for golf enthusiasts and explore how to create your golfer's paradise at your home on the greens.

Location Matters:

When it comes to designing the perfect home for a golfer, location is paramount. The proximity to the golf course not only influences the aesthetics of your property but also determines the ease with which you can enjoy your favorite sport. Opting for a home directly overlooking the course not only offers stunning views but also invites the game into your daily routine.

Open and Airy Design:

An essential aspect of designing a golfer's home is creating an open and airy environment. Large windows and glass doors not only allow for an unobstructed view of the golf course but also flood your living spaces with natural light. A connection to the outdoors fosters a sense of tranquility, and the subtle interplay between the interior and the greens can be a visual delight.

Outdoor Entertainment Spaces:

Golfers appreciate leisure time spent outdoors as much as they do on the fairways. Designing outdoor entertainment spaces such as verandas, patios, or decks that overlook the course provides an ideal setting for relaxation, barbecues, and gatherings with fellow golfing friends. Including features like swimming pool for a swim after a game, hot tubs for relaxation and built-in seating, fire pits, or even a putting green in your backyard can elevate your outdoor experience.

Incorporating Golf-Themed Elements:

Infuse your home's design with subtle golf-themed elements that pay homage to your passion. Incorporate colors reminiscent of golf course landscapes, such as grassy greens and serene blues. Artwork, sculptures, or decor inspired by golf can serve as conversation starters and create a cohesive design language throughout your living spaces.

Dedicated Storage for Equipment:

Golfers often possess an array of clubs, bags, and accessories. Designing a dedicated storage area for your golf equipment ensures that your prized possessions are organized and easily accessible. Consider incorporating racks, shelves, or cabinets that not only keep your gear in top condition but also add to the overall aesthetic of your home. Having a larger garage with space for the golf cart or two is great and a covered area that can keep the cart cool and dry when you are using it daily but not away.

Balancing Privacy and Views:

While being close to the action is desirable, maintaining a balance between privacy and the panoramic views of the golf course is essential. Well-designed landscaping, strategically placed vegetation, and even architectural elements like privacy screens can help create secluded pockets within your property without compromising the vistas. Window treatments also offer privacy with bottom-up blinds coming in handy that let light in while keeping your privacy inside.

Creative Space Planning:

Efficient space planning is vital in any home, but it holds particular importance in a golfer's abode. Consider an open floor plan that allows for seamless movement between living, dining, and kitchen areas. Thoughtful placement of windows and glass doors ensures that you can enjoy the golf course views from various vantage points within your home.

Furnishings:

When furnishing the interior of your golfer's dream home casual elegance rules. Keeping upholstery neutral with warmer medium wood tones creates a relaxing vibe. Club chairs on castors and a round game table is good for casual dining or playing games with friends.

Conclusion:

Designing a home on a golf course or with a strong connection to a golfing community offers a unique opportunity to fuse your passion for the sport with your living space. By considering factors such as location, open design, outdoor entertainment areas, and golf-themed elements, you can create a haven that resonates with your love for golf while providing comfort, style, and functionality. So, tee off on your journey to design your dream home that stands as a testament to both your personal style and your passion for the greens.
