ENRICO LOPEZ-YAÑEZ
Enrico Lopez-Yañez is the newly named Principal Pops Conductor of the Pacific Symphony commencing in the 2023-2024 season. Lopez-Yañez also serves as the Principal Pops Conductor of the Nashville Symphony, where he leads the symphony’s pops and family series. He is quickly establishing himself as one of the nation’s leading conductors of popular music and becoming known for his unique style of audience engagement.
Since working with the Nashville Symphony, Lopez-Yañez has conducted concerts with a broad spectrum of artists including Nas, Patti LaBelle, Itzhak Perlman, Stewart Copeland, Kenny Loggins, Toby Keith, Leslie Odom Jr., Megan Hilty, and Tituss Burgess. LopezYañez also conducts the annual Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th fireworks show, which was first televised on CMT in 2019, reaching millions of viewers across the nation.
In the upcoming season, Lopez-Yañez will collaborate with artists including Aida Cuevas, Cody Fry, The Beach Boys, Ben Folds, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Vanesa Williams, and Pink Martini.

SARAH LEWIS
DSO Assistant Principal Oboe Sarah Lewis joined the orchestra in 2017. She previously served as Second Oboe of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and has made guest appearances with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, and Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
Lewis studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, Michigan State University, and The Juilliard School. Festival appearances include Chautauqua Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, Festival Napa Valley, and Classical Tahoe. A passionate educator, Lewis teaches oboe privately and has served as guest lecturer at Michigan State University and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. ---
La subdirectora de Oboe de DSO, Sarah Lewis, se unió a la orquesta en 2017. Ballet Folklorico Moyocoyani Izel is a Detroit-based dance troupe committed to teaching and performing authentic Mexican folk dances and preserving the rich culture and history of Mexico. Founded in 2005 by Jaime and Maria Luisa Carrillo, the group welcomes all new participants regardless of experience and operates free of charge to the community as a nonprofit organization. ---
