2015 / 2016 Dear Fellow Skiers,
Here’s to you, because without you, there is no us. After 12 years in production this collection, like other before it, innovates, improves upon, and advances the styles and shapes of yesteryear into what we consider our most proprietarily intelligent and refined product collection to date. The Ski Industry uses “technology” in a myriad of different ways. In the past we viewed “technology” as a smart key word to describe a great ski shape, such as ReflectTech™. However we now know, after years of R&D, that materials scientists, like our athletes, play a pivotal role in ski design. This realization led us to our new VibeVeilTM technology, paired with ReflectTechTM shapes to strengthen edge hold, calm the ski in varied terrain, and make your best days even better. Our unrivaled authenticity and enduring passion towards a rider owned business model produce critical advances within skiing and this trend continues with the all-new KYE series designed by freeskiing icon Kye Petersen. The KYE series branches out far beyond any 4FRNT ski series produced to date. The KYE features 3 different models, spanning waist widths from 92 - 123mm , and pairs revolutionary shape innovation with unique technology. We focus narrowly on freeskiing because it’s in our blood, because the way we see things twin tip skis saved skiing from a slow, painful, really un-cool death. While 4FRNT matures, so does the skier base with whom we supply, and new athletes attract towards the sport and the renewal cycle continues. Freeskiing breathes life into an otherwise stagnant sport. We feel proud to see our most loyal fans grow and with them spur a need for our collection to grow with them. So again, to you skier, we couldn’t do what we do without and you should take pride in the fact that you’ve helped progress skiing into the sport you see today. Keep your ski tips up and get your bases in the air,
Matt Sterbenz, Founder
TEAM
Since our humble beginnings in 2002 we knew that our products could only perform as well as their designers. Our team drives all that we accomplish at 4FRNT. These accomplishments grow out of authentic collaboration between the athlete and the engineer. Each Pro Athlete on our 2015/16 roster embodies a unique characteristic and they each own equity in 4FRNT in return for their commitment to working through conception, creation, execution and annual production of their own signature ski. We believe the future of ski design lies within the hands of those contributing to skiing’s progression. Each member of our team represents a unique approach to skiing just like our each one of out customers. TECHNOLOGY REFLECT TECH
Eric Hjorleifson conceived ReflectTech™ in order to make rocker and side-cut work together. In the past, full rocker profiles effected a negative impact on the ability of a ski to edge consistently. This effect caused the tips to hook and the tails to wash out with the ski on edge. With ReflectTech™, the rocker radius and the side-cut radius match, allowing the ski to edge smoothly, creating predictable carving in all conditions. ReflectTech™ virtually eliminates tip hook. The ski will engage smoothly along it’s entire length, while still giving you the float and pivotability of a fully rockered ski. You can find ReflectTech™ in the Renegade, HOJI, HOJI W, Devastator and Aretha.
VIBE VEIL
Skiers use witty terms to describe how a ski may feel. Often you hear the words: Soft, stiff, fast, slow, playful, buttery, tinny, charger, surfy, slarvy and a whole host of others. What word best describes confident? Modern reverse camber ski shapes paired with classic construction techniques require advancement in materials. We spent the last two years working with a composites laboratory defining this feeling related to skiing, and determined that vibration drastically reduces confidence. We confidently introduce our break-through VibeVeil™ technology. This elastic membrane situated in the tips of our rockered skis dramatically reduces chatter and weak edge hold, commonly the result of extended negative radius profiles in ski tips when used in varied to firm snow conditions. We discovered use of this material from the marine industry where seacraft designers line the interior of boat hulls to soften the compounding blows of rough seas, all the way to public transportation where automotive engineers dampened the high pitch vibrations found in buses, light rails, and trams. All 2015/16 skis featuring VibeVeil™ have a transparent window logo highlighting the very material used in each ski. You can find VibeVeilTM in the Renegade, Raven, HOJI, HOJI W, Devastator, Aretha, and the all-new KYE series.
CONTOUR CORE
Our women’s skis feature shapes similar to our men’s line but we set these skis apart with our, women’s specific, ContourCore™ construction. Women tend to drive a ski from their hips which generates forces down through their heels. With our women’s cores, we’ve moved the weight of the core rearwards (5cm) to accommodate this more centered skiing style. This lets women drive the true center of the core weight instead of constantly fighting from behind, while still being centered over the side cut. You can find ContourCore™ in the HOJI W, Aretha, Madonna and Blondie.

HYPER-BLOCK - This core is designed with Poplar and Birch for freestyle riding, shredding laps and cruising the mountain. MEGA-BLACK - Ash and Beech come together to form our most dense and damp core for the best in all-mountain dominance. FOAM - High-density foam is injected into state-of-the-art 3D molds to create a light and responsive core for our Junior Series skis.
THE WHITE ROOM For over six years, the White Room has been a steadily evolving forum in which we can turn ideas into something greater. While the White Room started as a way for us to make ski-able prototypes with quick turn-around, it has grown also into a full-fledged production facility. The White Room has given birth to the CRJ, Renegade, YLE, Hoji, Gaucho, Devestator, Wise, Raven, and finally this year, the KYE models. Eric Hjorleifson has made the White Room his personal design lab, and it was here with Eric's help, where our proprietary technologies, Reflect-Tech and Vibe Veil were first developed. David, Wiley, and Kye have also done their time down here, making sure that their dream skis came to fruition. Along with those models and technologies, it is in the White Room, where we do our best to continue #shapingskiing.
The White Room is located inside 4FRNT’s Salt Lake City HQ. Anytime during the months of May through October you can expect to find the same familiar faces from Alta, producing our Raven, Renegade, and Wise models.
BIG MOUNTAIN SERIES
KYE 110 BIG MOUNTAIN SERIES Signtaure
The KYE 110 provides maximum versatility. A scaled down tail rocker and camber underfoot make the KYE 110 a highly stable one-ski quiver. The 110 is stiffer than the 120 providing stability and confidence in big mountain descents as well as spring crud conditions around the resort. In three lengths, 188, 181, and 174, there’s a KYE 110 that’s right for you. HOJI
BIG MOUNTAIN SERIES Signtaure Somebody wise once said “It doesn’t have to be fun to be fun.” We aren’t saying that you won’t have the best turns of your life on the HOJI. The ReflectTech™ takes care of that. To us, however, this ski represents pain and gain. Frigid, early mornings, half-listening to NPR on the way to a dawn patrol tour before work. Sharing the same thermos of whatever hot beverage somebody brought. This ski represents sweaty skin tracks and windy ridges. Wherever you go the HOJI will get you there, and down, in the best style. RAVEN ALL MOUNTAIN SERIES Signature
This ski packs more punch than you’d think. The dual radius and matching sidecut make quick turns in couloirs yet still allow you to open it up on the apron. The ReflectTech TM based rocker handles variable conditions commonly encountered when touring and weighing in at 1900 gr. per ski ensures you still have legs under you for that line you’ve been looking at all the way up the skin track. KYE 95 ALL MOUNTAIN SERIES Signature
The third, and arguably most utilitarian model within the KYE family is the KYE 95. While based on the hard-charging KYE 110, the 95 offer’s a true all-mountain experience. Wide enough to handle fresh snow, yet remaining fun on variable or even firm snow. We left the rockered tip to provide float and easy initiating turns, yet brought down the tail rocker to increase the effective edge for stability. Bring the 95 all over the resort or on your favorite tour, and you will feel what true versatility is all about. Everybody owns a ski that they grab on most days, or always bring no matter what the conditions, “just in case.” The Devastator is that ski. Our signature ReflectTech™ shape allows the ski to carve, plane, slash pow and do everything in between on any day. The stiff tips bust through anything in their path and the 25 meter turning radius quickly sends you around rocks, trees, gapers, or anything else in your path. KYE 120 POWDER SERIES Signature
We worked with Kye to bring his dream ski to life. The KYE represents our most well rounded, yet, hard-charging ski to date. The KYE 120 features a rockered tip and tail for superior flotation, while 3mm of camber underfoot allows for lively and reliable turning. You ought to fear this ski. It’s stiff, the camber is sky high, and your puny legs probably can’t handle the air it’ll give you off of the lip. ARETHA WOMENS SERIES BIG MOUNTAIN
The Aretha represents everything that intermediate to advanced lady skiers want in a ski. She’s stiff enough to keep speed up, or bust through any crud one may encounter. wide enough to float in the pow, and her ReflectTech™ shape allows planing turns in soft snow and carving turns on hard snow. JUNIOR SERIES
YLE COYOTE JUNIOR SERIES
We know that every generation of skiers gets better and better. We like to imagine what we could do now if we’d had the equipment and access that the little shredders today have. The YLE Coyote puts the young ones on top of the powder and gives them the confidence they need to take their freestyle game to the whole mountain.

Remember when you learned how to ski? The traditional camber allows young skiers to learn traditional styles while the twin tip encourages switch skiing for any adventurous grom. The foam core provides a forgiving flex to set young skiers up for success and the graphic is as fun as the skiing itself. Let’s face it, you wish you learned on skis this good too.

BINDINGS 4FRNT bindings match the high performance and quality of our skis. Freeskiing requires specific technology and safety features that are different than the traditional race bindings. Ski touring with the ADRENALIN The Adrenalin offers everything you want out of a freeride binding while providing a legitimate touring option for skiers who want to go big. You will go places you may never have imagined with the Adrenalin, but you won’t go down because of a pre-release. The freeride style toe piece gives unparalleled protection and direct power transmission which gives you the confidence to push your limits without worrying about whether or not you’ll stay in. Own the whole mountain on the ATTACK A great combination of performance and safety. The FR Pro Toe is much lighter and compact, significantly reducing swing weight. It also comes with a 77mm extra-wide and durable metal AFD (anti-friction device) for better responsiveness edge to edge. Toe height is fully adjustable which allows for compatibility with all alpine-style adult boots. The Race Pro Heel has an extra wide platform, which increases binding retention and power transfer, as well as a minimal stand height (17mm), putting you in a neutral position for better performance riding switch. Blazing corduroy or skiing off-piste for the first time with the PADLOCK Our Padlock series appeals to the beginner to intermediate skier who wants a lightweight binding and a safe and accurate release/retention setting. The patented Full Diagonal - Intelligent 180° toe piece releases both horizontally and vertically to guarantee lower forces placed on knees and ligaments in backward twisting falls. Also, the spring-engaged AFD will accommodate any adult or junior alpine boot.

TRAILBREAKER SKINS Earn your turns with ease with the 4FRNT Trailbreaker Alpine Touring Skins. A combination of nylon and mohair give these skins great grip and glideability. We changed the glue system and now use traditional epoxy adhesive, which is stronger and more reliable in a wider variety of conditions. We offer them in a 185cm length and 100, 110, 120 and 140mm widths. All skins come equipped with a trim tool however we encourarge users to pair the untrimmed: 100 with the Raven, 110 for the Hoji series and 120 for the Rengade, as this was the purpose of desiging these skis all +2mm wider than standard skin width. Leaving skins untrimmed greatly reduces the unneccessary wear caused from storing them in your pack and bibs and exposing the trimmed edges when folded onto each other. Skins come complete with a carry bag and cheat sheets for proper storage and ease of use.
