The site is located in Prague Bubeneč part, halfway between Stromovka and the Prague-Podbaba railway station. The dominant feature of the area is the former wastewater treatment from the beginning of the 20th century, which is now included in the list of national cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The new tramway line rims the site on the side of Papírenská Street and continue across the river at the site of the existing historic bridge. The original bridge would serve as a footbridge after reconstruction and was placed towards the old treatment plant for better visual connection with the historical complex. The new bridge would only serve to trams’ transition and lead directly behind the existing bridge. The infrastructure of wastewater treatment historically partially affected the project site. I perceive this as a potential for connecting and expanding the historical complex, which today fulfils a cultural function. Therefore, I propose to keep the existing technical building at Papírenská Street, including its underground part, and give it the function of a public gallery.

The newly designed buildings line the project site from three sides. Their lower part connects the level of the street and the garden, which have a height difference of 3-6 meters. Due to their location, the buildings respond to the initial conditions - respect mature trees, terrain breaks and historically valuable buildings. The entrances to the garden are open to the public and have different characters depending on their location. The garden itself has an informal and natural character. It is complemented by a biotope on the Vltava side, providing residents with direct contact with the water in addition to the view. The biotope also serves as an element to retain rainwater on the site. Its surroundings are complemented by furnishings for various activities of the local community, such as an outdoor barbecue, paved terraces for relaxing under a massive tree, or tables for neighborhood gatherings under the shade of the house.

The central part of the garden is densely overgrown and provides residents with a sense of privacy and tranquillity. However, there is also an unshaded area suitable for growing plants and vegetables. In the part towards Papírenská Street, the terrain rises and connects to the upper floor of the car park, which may be later transformed into communal spaces such as workshops, offices, or garden storage. This part of the garden has a more formal character with a paved surface where residents can use public tables and benches for lunches, parties or gatherings with friends.

Due to difficult flood conditions the lower part of the buildings is designed as a reinforced concrete structure. The precast columns and spans reinforced with a monolithic reinforced concrete core are founded on a pile-supported foundation grid. The upper part of the structure, which is above the level of the hundred-year water, will be timber construction. It is a prefabricated system of CLT panels combined with a column system on the facade. For the ceiling structure is used a chamber system of CLT panels. Due to the versatile solution of the upper part of the houses, a reduction in production and installation costs could be expected.

The ground floor contains commercial and public spaces such as shop, cafeteria, coworking, and offices. The lower part at garden level has a more private character, where workshops and coworking space for local residents are located. There is also a residential home for the elderly connected with its own entrance to the street and garden levels.

02 UNIVERSALITY UMPRUM Prague Architecture IV

09/2019-01/2020

studio: doc. Mgr. ak. arch. Roman Brychta, Ing. arch. Martin Jančok Prototyp I In an effort to explore the boundaries of universality in architectureI propose a prototype of an urban structure for living in the 21st century on an abstract area of approximately 250 x 250m. Subsequently I test the proposed structure on allocated sites in Prague (Kolbenova - 55,000 m2) and in Bratislava (Račianska 60,000 m2). I define specific typologies of houses and characterize the urban detail of the new development. Prototyp II I supplement the already created structure, set in context, with a greater degree of detail - I propose the plans of apartments, shared spaces and courtyards.

The house and street change their places. The slender houses joining and creating a rectangular mesh. They form the courtyards. Each one is different. Square, gardens, nursery, playground or park? The both sides are seen from flat, you can choose which one „a favorite“ will be mark.

03 RETURN TO PLOUČNICE FUA TUL Bachelor thesis

09/2019-01/2020

studio: Ing. arch. Radek Suchánek, Ph.D. The work deals with the area on an important urban way near the river Ploučnice in Česká Lípa. Proposal tries to exploit the potential of the site and establish a lost connection between the city center and the south bank of the river. The design includes analysis of a unique site and architectural proposal of the new residential housing by the river. The intention is also to revive the public space of the park along the Smetanovo nábřeží and the opposite bank of the river.

THE BATH Liberec Takasaki Masaharu workshop

10/2018

tutor: Takasaki Masaharu (Japan) step 1 be inspired by czech art and choose 2 works step 2 interpret it in sketches according to your own feelings and emotions step 3 make working models based on sketches step 4 transform abstract art into architecture The initial inspiration was the work of Stanislav Kolíbal „Sculpture for the Wind“ and „Male and Female Torso“ by Zdeněk Pešánek. The basic motif is a curve that forms the main wall - the only landmark located above the terrain. The visitor descends along the wall with a ramp and descends two floors underground, where he finds himself in an entrance hall with dim lighting. The sun‘s rays are guided by narrow tubes, passing through the thickness of the water all the way down, where they create a magical soothing atmosphere. After purchasing a ticket and changing clothes, the visitor can continue on a ritual path that leads up another ramp to the thermal outdoor bath.

THE GYPSY CARAVAN EASA Hospitality Denmark Workshop Colour

08/2017

tutors: Louis Koseda (England), Ben Rea (England), Sam Atkinson (England), Buscot Rémi (France) team: 13 international students EASA is a two-week architectural workshop, held each year in a different state and brings together over 500 students and professionals from different parts of the world with a common interest in architecture. Art has enormous power - through artistic residencies we can make contacts, spend time together, create and pass on experience. The Color workshop dealt with the creation of a residence space that would be used for a short stay and at the same time exhibiting. This residence can be rented by any artist from around the world. The mobility of the caravan allows it to be placed anywhere in the city and present the artist‘s work to the locals. Today, the Gypsy Caravan is actively used by the artistic community in Fredericia and young people from all over the world.

I’m in a city where I’ve never been before. I have a pen and I have a sketchbook. Unknown place for me like a white paper whitout anything. I’m drawing my way and the things that I like. Four maps from each day are creating the single one - my own map of Saint-Nazaire. The missing places are not existing.

THE ROOMS FUA TUL Liberec in Prague

10-11/2017

team: students and professors of FUA

The Rooms are an annual exhibition for artists and students of art throughout the Czech Republic. We decided to present our entire faculty, its way of life and work. We wanted to show how the faculty is open to students from the inside, but closed for people from the outside. We divided the room into two worlds - inner and outer by building the wall from school boxes. These two worlds were connected only by randomly situated hollow boxes. All students lived their standard lives in closed room for the entire duration of the exhibition - participated consultations, lectures, critiques hard working and final party in inner space. People from outside could talk to us but no one could get inside.
