The concept revolves around the socio-cultural life of the peoplein Kolkata. Climatological, Functional, Aesthetical, Psychological and Commercial would be the five layers of evaluations, trying to capture the fragments of the larger regional Landscape. Being an affordable housing project, the idea was to keep it simple. The built architecture generates pockets which when stitched together accomplish the design. Each pocket is designed in an interactive way. The hierarchy of major and minor nodes forms the main junctions in stitching these pockets together. Each pocket has its own identity with respect to the age group and function.

Set on the 16th level of the Rupa Solitaire, these twin terraces are on either sides of the office area. Being the tallest amongst the surrounding buildings, the terraces open up to virgin vistas. The concept of figure-ground forms the rhythm between the two terraces.
Terrace 1- The intricately designed paved pattern inspired by falling leaves, forms a welcoming entrance. The green wall forming a backdrop for the amphitheatre, complements the sky’s natural backdrop. A viewing deck is provided at a corner to enjoy the serene vistas from the terrace.

Terrace 2- It is the negative twin of the terrace 1. The central cafeteria deck sheltered with a tensile roof is the main feature of this terrace. The green pockets edge the central deck and a smaller viewing deck sits as an island on the green. Lighting is so designed that it captures beautiful frames of the vistas.

The idea was abstracted from the linear geometry of the factory building. To gift the user a pleasant experience while flowing through the earthy pathway with mounds of greens rising besides. In the midst, sits a congregation area where the workers can gather and fuse together. The geometries are composed such that it gives a delightful vision not only while meandering through them but also from the top.The design sits hugging the factory building thus creating natural landscape rising from the earth.
