PROJECT B- DESIGN

8

These are some of my experiments form MID JOURNEY, which shows di erent Avatarsof the God Ares. I did not maintian any aesthetic but just went with what looksed realistic to me.

My chosen Greek God to base my furutre poster for the whole uni will be the God of War- Ares. I chose this God not because I am a suppporter of war but instead I chose his traits of con dence and self esteem in him. The way he carries himself and tells the world how one person should represent oneself.

I before starting this unit was never able to explore Mid Journey. It has given me a really new experience towards the new Arti cial Technology of the world. I am very thankful to the unit for considering it as a part and making us work on it.

Talking about ChatGPT, I had used to it before for very basic purposes in daily life and after discovering and more digging it in more for the use of uni assignments I was able to realise that this is a very useful tool for the generation.

ChatGPT gave me di erent responses to many questions I asked, each one of them has a relation to one another but the language and the new things I was abke to discover which are usually not in a normal search where very helpful.

WAR AND STRENGTH

~the trojan war

One of the twelve Olympian gods in Greek mythology was Ares, the lord of war and passion for blood. Ares was often depicted as a tall, powerful person with an aggressive temperament who wore a spear, a shield, and a helmet. He often traveled with Eris, the goddess of discord and division, as his companion. Ares, the brother of Athena, Apollo, Artemis, and Hermes, was the son of Zeus and Hera.

In classical Greece, numerous folks worshiped Ares, especially soldiers, and warriors who looked to him for bravery and courage in warfare. As a representation of his wild and ferocious nature, he was also associated with certain animals like wolves and vultures. Ares was known as a ruthless and vicious warrior, yet he was also at times seen as a guardian of cities and the people who lived in them.

The God of power and compassion, Hercules, was one of his strongest foes. Hercules was tasked with bringing the terrifying Erymanthian Boar from Mount Erymanthos, Peloponnese, Greece, alive. As a result, while on his search, he ran across Ares.  Since Hercules killed his son Kyknos, Ares challenged him to a fight. In the end, Ares was believed to be immortal, thus despite driving him away and defeating him, Hercules was unable to kill him.

Ares was a god of strategy and planning in addition to pure fire. Ares might even be viewed in this manner as a symbol of the importance of rigorous planning and execution in accomplishing one's ambitions.

God Zeus and Goddess Hera being the mother of the great God of War Ares, shows both of his parents weren't fond of him. He being the war god was regarded as a coward as well as a murderer who sheds blood.

Ares representing fire, was an appealing handsome man with and spear in his hand and his throne on Mount Olympus made of human skin showing his vulnerability. One thing about him, he was recognized

One of the greatest incidences of Ares is the Trojan fight with Hercules. Despite being an immortal divinity, he was defeated by Hercules.

In duel and nearly died when two enormous creatures forced him into a jar. He received no sympathy from his father Zeus after a Trojan War hero injured him.

PART A- IDEATION

DIGITAL DESIGN ITERATION

This is the rst nad the basic idea of my design installation that I decided to go with.

I by choosing this design, am trying to show the war between Hercules and Area. The two geometric shapes with the reference of my teacher we decided that two geometrics when collide with one another can show war and collison. And this is how my model with represent the God Ares.

BONE SYSTEM

You can simply see the system that I chose was Bone as I though it it something rm and would represent my idea correctly. The monaco pieces here show how the movement of the geometric is going to look like.

BONE SYSTEM

By choosing the bone system is tried to show and represent the anger of the God Ares. I wanted to bring two geometric shapes together to show how both of them would collide and show explosion. This is bone mechanical system is purely influenced form the war between God Ares and Hercules, where the two great men show their power and strength through masculinity.

These shapes here are the basic cells of the whole structure built. The sides of the frames made are rectangular and the circles are the small nuts and the media through which all attachments are done. The cameo shape plays an important role in thr primary roatation of the two grometric forms.

THE GEOMETRIC SHAPES

The shapes that I chose for the collision or the representation of my war was a square and a triangle. The two equally representing Ares and Hercules.

THE ROD

The rod has been used in the system to connect the follower and the geometrical shapes on top, so that the auxiliary motion is there.

THE CAM

The cam supports the rotary motion of the shapes floating on top through the follower. It fully rotates until it comes to its original position.

THE FLAT FOLLOWER

The rods connecting to the cam so that they can hold to the structure firmly. It has been used at places in the bone system structure.

experimentation

the three diagrams underneath are trying to depict the different angles through which the model can be witnessed. The different views and the drawings give us a brief that how the model exactly works when seen from a naked eye

TRIKABRIKEN

Is an old textile factory in stockholm’s old industrial neighborhood hammarby sjöstad that was transformed into a 25,000 square meter office building by tengbom architects. tengbom architects‘ aim was to create a new joint expression for the building as a whole, so they preserved the brick façade and carefully renovated the building. the architects added a five-story mass timber frame extension, covered with a corten steel façade to the original 1928 brick building.

This representation is the line drawings of the kovements of thr two geometrical shapes when colliding together.

The emotive-ness that would describe my structure would be when a person walks by it will start moving and clap into one another. The clap sound that would come out would be like a two wooden sticks banging together when someone is fighting. This is how my structure relates to the fight between Hercules and Ares.

The two variations that I toom into consideration are these, where the first one shows how the two geometric shapes can be handeled with the help of one rod only. The other one shows how two circular mecano structure can be put perpendicularly and they can be used as a medium to show the representation of the structure.

the dimensions of the structure is 200mm x 300mm x 50mm

The orange part in the axonometric diagram despicts the motor. The motor will be operated through batteries, to convey the emotive meaning of the structure.

variation and mechanism 12

The movement of the two geometris will be controlled by a small motor. The motoe will help the structure to show result faster and smoother so that no hand is required.

The site of the AMDC that I have chosen is area between the two bihg poles just infront of the open study area. I think this site is best for my project as it will nring out more attention. The structure being right infront will grab attention also because of thr screen present there.

WEEKLY REFELCTIONS

Week01

The AI is a great help for the human use. It lets out our memory and our intelligence to another world. If we are somehow not able to communicate out ideas through presentation or a piece of paper then we can simply communicate with AI and get to the solution.

Week02

2-dimensional line drawings could depict 3D objects. A flat piece of paper may reveal the volume and form of an item using various parallel projection and perspective sketching techniques.Distraction and complexity keep getting more and more sophisticated. While a 2D drawing can convey just enough information to make a concept clear.

Week03

For image only references it is a bit difficult to read oyt something een tho the images communicate alot, but the conversations that are trying to communicate lack. For word only references in my personal opinion it turns out to be bit boring reading all the time. And, in the case of line drawings ony they make the medium much more easier but again there is a bit lack of the above two mediums .But when all thre put together come out to be a strongest communication help.

Week05

A variety of aspects and features in architecture can convey emotion. To portray emotions through different types of movement (such as fast, surprising movement compared to gentle, delicate behaviour), an architectural project may use kinetic equipment. The presence or absence of characteristics in a built environment may help the space's emotive aims even more. We perceive the world around us through our senses.

Week06

When adapting a design for a particular site, iterations and variations are essential. These differences may take waste management into account as well as the fabrication process. Exploring a design's scale and shape can help you strike a balance between getting your point across and producing too much waste. Another way to cut waste is to change a system's pattern or reduce a mechanism's complexity to its bare minimum components and materials.

Week07

Architectural representation need not only be in the form of standard drawings. Techniques like collages and drawings that examine the trip through a space in two dimensions can underline the concept of experience. Models and textural analysis are two examples of more three-dimensional items that could be represented. Despite these methods, a two-dimensional drawing has a lot of potential and power to convey an architectural space's experience. The use of human figures and isometric drawings to accentuate scale and distance, as well as images that depict activity occuring in the space, are essential for enhancing the design itself. The visual representation cannot just be concerned with the design in order to accurately convey an architectural experience. One of the most important methods to convey experience is through line work and visuals that depict motion and circulation. Another approach to characterise the stages or change of an experience through time is through materiality, opacity, and gradient.
