n 2018, we launched a collaboration with KultureCity—a nonprofit dedicated to improving accessibility for people with autism—to make the museum more sensoryinclusive. Visitors can check out sensory bags including noise-dampening headphones, verbal cue cards and other resources. Christopher Fisher from Cleveland visited the Rock Hall with his family in 2018, and his daughter used one of the bags. Here, he shares their story. “My 10-year old autistic daughter and I visited the Rock Hall this past year. I was given a sensory bag, and it was the best thing that could have happened for her. She was able to use the bag to enjoy every part of the museum. She does not do well with loud noises, but because of [the sensory bag] she was able to sit in a room that was louder than loud and enjoy every moment. She is in love with rock & roll music and got to experience everything just like I did. I thank the Rock Hall from the bottom of my heart for providing this tool.” Fisher also encourages others with sensory sensitivities to visit and enjoy the Rock Hall. “I would say to just give it a shot. The items in the bag are very useful for people with sensory issues. The Rock Hall did an amazing job of making sure [everyone] can enjoy the museum.”
