All the jewelry in the store comes directly from the manufacturer to bring the customers the best products at a low price. Since our establishment, we've made a promise to ourselves and our loyal customers, to continue having stunning pieces available for them to add to their collection. Over the past two years, Destinee's Fashion has grown by adding more selections to the company such as body butters, lip glosses, and more. Presented by Marcus Banks Hairbook Storytime was a unique event presented by Marcus Banks in Central Texas. We decided to sit down with Banks and interview him, to see how he came up with such a unique show. When asked how did this event comes about, Banks responded, “Well if you know me, you then you know for one I love hair, and for two, I love the kids…so being able to put both of my passions together is really what brought this show together and you can’t go wrong with some fashion right? We’ve been dealing with a pandemic for a few years now, and I know my hair sisters were just itching for a show because for some of us…it really is what we already love to do. Most of us are competition and showcase stylists. We love telling a great story while still being able to incorporate styling hair, so I thought why not make it very different and do the princesses adding the exclusive kids fashion show by my hometown designed, Keka Gooding, was just the icing on the cake – her ambition, drive and creativity with the sewing machine is something serious!” Hairbook Storytime displayed Disney princesses such as Auroa (Sleeping Beauty) portrayed by Wendy Swoops of Fort Worth, TX, Pocahontas portrayed by Tory HarrisHolloway of Mesquite, TX and Mulan portrayed by Lisa Joyner of Austin, TX. Banks is the fifth child of eight. He is an alumni of Temple High School and Temple College, furthered his education in small business management and entrepreneurship. Before completing business school, he had enrolled in Central Texas Beauty College upon the direction
of the late Robert Painter. Upon completion of his 1500 hours, he went on to eventually become “Mr. HeBeDoingHair.” When Banks was asked if he would be doing anymore events like this one, he replied, “Oh, most definitely. I’m just getting started. The feedback from this event was absolutely amazing. The building was packed, I have to bring back once again! That was the stylist’s showcase, stay tuned because I heard it was some barbers in Texas who wear capes like superheroes (but you didn’t hear it from me.””

Angelica also known as Geli, is the owner of Flawless Hair Junkie established in 2013 in Grand Rapids, MI. Flawless Hair Junkie was created to give women the luxury of becoming whoever they would like with hair extensions. She later created a hair product line of wax sticks, edge control, and lace glue. Chasing her dreams of become a successful business owner in 2019 Angelica moved to ATL. The demand for wigs became a big thing so she advanced her skills by learning to make sewing machine custom wigs. Her life coach, Alena Edmondson, later introduced her to Celebrity Stylist, Erica Strong, who displayed her wigs in her salon suites and pushed her into teaching wig making classes and helped her land her first Ghost Wig making client through her connects. Back in October FHJ added Flawless Hair Junkie Concierge to help those that find it difficult to keep their wigs looking flawless. Flawless Hair Junkie Concierge steps in to also assist hair companies and hairstylist with heavy workloads such wig customizations, wig repairs, washing, deep conditioning, styling and also taking care of any salon laundry if needed. Being Burned Out is Not a Good Thing. As entrepreneurs we tend to believe that we are superheroes in human form, well us real entrepreneurs anyway. We want to take care of home, the business, and conquer the world, but what we sometimes fail to realize is…we need to take care of ourselves too. Take some time out of your day and do something you enjoy outside of business. If want to spend some time outside, take a brief walk or jog. If you want to listen to some music and dance a little in the mirror, have at it! Fix yourself up, when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good you are unstoppable! Don’t pay attention to others’ journeys either. Don’t feel like you are behind, just because someone else is a tad bit further ahead. Your time is your time and theirs is their own. Remember you, and do what’s best for you!
It’s ok to take a step back. Breathe. Re-evaluate yourself, your mission, and your vision.

¼ cup butter 1 pound leeks, chopped 1 onion, chopped 2 quarts water 3 large potatoes, chopped 2 large carrots, chopped 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces ⅓ cup uncooked long-grain white rice 4 teaspoons salt ½ pound fresh spinach 1 cup heavy cream
Directions Step 1 Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the leeks and onion, and cook until tender. Step 2 Pour water into the pot. Mix in potatoes, carrots, asparagus, and rice. Season with salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes, until vegetables and rice are tender. Step 3 Stir spinach and heavy cream into the soup mixture, and continue cooking about 5 minutes before serving.

Supreme Strawberry Topping Courtesy of AllRecipes Ingredients 1 pint fresh strawberries ⅓ cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Step 1 Wash strawberries and remove stems; cut large berries in half or roughly chop them. Step 2 Combine strawberries, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. The mixture will sizzle for a while, but then juice will begin to form. Continue stirring; mash a few strawberries with a wooden spoon or heat-proof spatula to help produce the syrup. Cook until sauce thickens, about 15 minutes. Step 3 Remove from heat. In a blender, puree about 1/3 of the sauce, then mix back into remaining topping. Store in refrigerator. *Serve cold over ice cream or cheesecake.

Candy has always had a love for unique cute handbags & accessories. So, she decided to start her own boutique in 2020. She attended Empire Beauty School in Grand Rapids Mi. She began in her home like many of us who are just starting their business. Due to the abundance of customers and wanting to brand herself she moved into a salon so she could offer her clients a more professional atmosphere. As the years went on Candy Faith worked in a variety of salons, suites only to end up opening up her very own nail salon in 2017 called Polished Nail Bar & Spa. Inside of Polished she offered Makeup artist, lash techs & 4 other very talented nail technicians. In the salon she offered multiple services such as eyelash extensions, full face of glam makeup, custom nail art, gel nails, pedicures & etc.
Once Covid hit and the mandatory shut down she created a luxury nail press online. She named it “Pressed & Polished” press on nails were a huge success & Candy started to ship press on nails all over the US. She also saw a need during quarantine for people who could no longer get a pedicure in the salon, so she created pedicure kits. They took off & even though the salons are back open a lot her clients still request her press on nails & pedicure kits.
