Very Chocolate Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13 X 9 pan with foil, extending several inches over on the ends. Grease foil with shortening. Brownies 4 squares unsweetened chocolate ¾ c. butter 3 eggs 1 t. vanilla 2 c. granulated sugar 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. chopped walnuts Melt chocolate and butter in the microwave, using a medium bowl - about 2 minutes. Add sugar and combine. Let the mixture cool a bit, then stir in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, mixing well. Stir in walnuts. Bake 25 – 30 minutes. Cool completely. While the brownies cool, prepare the topping. Topping 1 c. whipping cream – whipped 1 c. chocolate chips ¼ c. water 2 T. butter Melt chocolate chips, water and butter in the microwave - about 60 seconds. Whisk until smooth. Cool before folding in whipped cream or it will melt rather than ‘lift’ the topping. Gently fold in the whipped cream until entirely combined with the chocolate mixture. Spread on cooled brownies. Chill.
