Let’s bring the book alive! An Event at Druids Heath Library
The story behind the project
We are two BCU students creating an event for Druids Heath Library, Birmingham, part
of our degree assignment. Through this special non-profit event, on the 3rd of December, we want to promote the Druids Heath Library as a learning and entertaining environment, and mainly the new children section, by organising a activity day around books. A prize competition will also give you the opportunity to bring back home a book for your children!
A project at the heart of the community
Druids Heath Library is a central community place : local population gathers there to deal
with their problems, but also to enjoy their free time. Our event, « Let’s bring the book alive » is a special moment for them to gather, especially for children of the community.
Let’s bring the book alive
The purpose of the event is to promote Druids Heath Library and show people, especially
children, its new and improved children’s section which is specifically designed for them and their needs. We want to get people involved with the library’s activities and let them know what the library has to offer besides the books. And most important, for every children attending, you get a chance to enter a prize competition and win a book!
The event is designed to bring stories to life. Using decorations, games, quizzes and actors we can create an environment for children to enjoy the book’s story. Actors will be there to play around the book and entertain the children. That will give an interactive interpretation to the story and book.
