initiates unique P04 assistance to businesses.
The Federal Government initiated a plan to assist Canadian businesses impacted by the pandemic. The objectives are to keep employees on the job; increase cash flow, and support business owners pay the rent. Though other areas of the country are experiencing recovery, there are others feeling desperate and hopeless due to uncertainty of what the pandemic will bring to them over time. According to the news released by the Dept of Finance, it was learned by DAS, the Honorable Chrystia Freeland, the new law to this effect will be introduced shortly in the parliament. According to the report this new initiative, hopefully, will help businesses get through the Covid second wave. Also, the law will position the business sector for a strong recovery. Among others, according to the Dept of Finance’s news/report released recently: • The new Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy, which would provide simple and easy-to-access rent and
mortgage support until June 2021 for qualifying organizations affected by COVID-19. The rent subsidy would be provided directly to tenants, while also providing support to property owners. The new rent subsidy would support businesses, charities, and non-profits that have suffered a revenue drop, by subsidizing a percentage of their expenses, on a sliding scale, up to a maximum of 65 per cent of eligible expenses until December 19, 2020. Organizations would be able to make claims retroactively for the period that began September 27 and ends October 24, 2020. • A top-up Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy of 25 per cent for organizations temporarily shut down by a mandatory public health order issued by a qualifying public health authority, in addition to the 65 per cent subsidy. This follows a commitment in the Speech from the Throne to provide direct financial support to businesses temporarily shut down as a result of a local public health decision. • The extension of the
Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy until June 2021, which would continue to protect jobs by helping businesses keep employees on the payroll and encouraging employers to re-hire their workers. The subsidy would remain at the current subsidy rate of up to a maximum of 65 per cent of eligible wages until December 19, 2020. This measure is part of the government’s commitment to create over 1 million jobs and restore employment to the level it was before the pandemic. • An expanded Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA), which would enable businesses, and not-for-profits eligible for CEBA loans—and that continue to be seriously impacted by the pandemic—to access an interest-free loan of up to $20,000, in addition to the original CEBA loan of $40,000. Half of this additional financing would be forgivable if repaid by December 31, 2022. Additionally, the application deadline for CEBA is being extended to December 31, 2020. Further details, including the launch date and application process will be announced in the coming days. An attestation of the impact of COVID-19 on the business will be required to access the additional financing.

Second wave a second chance? Diaryo Alberta
According to WHO as of October 9 the number of Covid infected people around the world reached over 36 million and 1,056,186 deaths. The rate of infection and death is overly concerning and alarming. Science and medical officials attributed this in what they call second wave. Second wave was the consequence of peoples’ disregard to public health
directives, and community norms related to stopping the spread of the virus. Isolation fatigue and the need for more interaction with other souls are attributing to the issue. Others are blatantly breaking the laws imposed by all levels of governments. There has never been any issue of this magnitude. Around the world the pandemic sown so much death, anxiety, and desperation. Even in south of the border, Covid remained the focal point of contentions between the political
parties. The VP debate started with a very contrasting prognosis of the issue. Failure said one and success said the other. What at stake is the future of the next generations. Even if vaccines are available the lingering impact of the diseases will last for long. The best estimate to approaching normalcy is over two years. What is disturbing, though is the daily update report on the havoc being sown by the virus worldwide. Over time the populace will be numbed by

the number of daily rate of infection and death, and this will become a common and normal thing – like the mortality inflicted by other diseases like flu, cancer, heart disease and the like. In Canada, though death caused by opioid is higher that the pandemic over six-month period, the reporting is skewed to the spread of virus. There is a saying that “smart is he who learns from his mistake”. Dumb is he who did not learn from the mistake
of others. If indeed the world is deep into the second wave, then this could be best measure of a country’s smartness and dumbness. Smartness and dumbness are reflections of a community’s collective response to the pandemic. This unseen menace will bring the smartest and dumbest in the world. This second “wave” is a second chance for the world to act smart or dumb. Pick what camp you want to be part of.

Zone ngunit masidhing inirerekomenda.

Madame KC

This would conclude our reflection on the pure heart. Attaining the pure heart has a reward: it is seeing God. What does it mean to see God? Here it is not ordinarily seeing God with our physical eyes. It is being intimate with Him, experiencing His love, forgiveness, salvation, peace, and joy. We also reciprocate these blessings with our faith, trust, love, obedience, and service to Him. These are the ultimate blessings of the pure heart. Impurities which are sins block us from God. It is like cataract that deprives a person from sight contact with another person. We are always certain of God’s nearness with us. But we cannot experience that presence and its blessings if we are not in intimate bonding
with Him. Mere intellectual knowledge of God does not transform character. St. Paul says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come (2 Cor. 5:17). This experience begins now in this earthly life. St. Paul says, Christ lives in me (Gal. 2:20). And if we faithfully maintain that pure heart with the help of the Holy Spirit in our earthly life, we shall continue to fellowship with God in eternity. In the life hereafter the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. - - - He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away (Rev. 21:3-4). How can that spiritual cataract that blocks our seeing God taken away? I want us to look at three Bible verses to help us. One, is John 15:3 Jesus says, you are already clean because of the word I have spoken
to you. If we take seriously the teachings of Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to help us apply them in our lives, we are cleansed of the spiritual cataract. Two, In 1 Peter 1:2 we read of believers in different places sanctified by the Spirit. If we believe, we are cleansed by the sanctifying work (making holy) of the Holy Spirit. Three, 1 John 1:7 says, but if we walk in the light, - - - we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sins. This is the forgiveness of all our sins by the shedding of Christ’s blood on the cross if we believe. We must strive to be pure in heart that we may see God in this life, and in the life to come. Prayer: Lord God, we need your cleansing power to purify our hearts. May your Holy Spirit dwell in us to purify our hearts. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Historic Filipino blockbuster film, “The Hows of Us”, Comes to iTunes Store today and to Google Play on November 3 Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo starrer also available now on Amazon Prime Video and iWantTFC
SAN FRANCISCO, October 22, 2020 - It’s almost weekend and here’s a blockbuster Filipino romance to add to your watchlist to crank up the comfort in your ongoing COVID-19 do-everythingfrom-home experience. “The Hows of Us” -- Filipino cinema’s historic record breaker in the box office in 2018 -- officially comes to iTunes Store today, October 22, and to Google Play on November 3. It is currently available on Amazon Prime Video in the US and iWantTFC platforms. Directed for ABS-CBN Star Cinema by award-winning Filipina director Cathy Garcia-Molina, co-writing the screenplay with Carmi G. Raymundo, Crystal S, San Miguel and Gillian Ebreo, the film stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, one of the most popular and power reel and real life couples in the Philippine movie industry
for the last decade. “The Hows of Us” is about two college students, George (Bernardo) and Primo (Padilla), who fall in love. George is into science, wanting to become a doctor. Primo is into the arts, aspiring to hit it big as a band musician. George inherits a house from her grand aunt where she and Primo decide to live together while dreaming of success in their respective fields and pledging undying support for each other no matter what. But life became real: Primo fails to get the big break he’s been working for. George continues to be faithful and supportive, but a frustrated Primo turns into a difficult person with a capacity for prideful arrogance, creating a nimbus of exhausted love for the couple. It reaches a point when George gives up... and Primo walks away. Is
there still a second chance at love for this couple who once professed together forever to each other? For her performance, Bernardo won Best Actress at the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies and Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards for Movies (EDDY’S) in 2019. More good news is that the star couple also has a new groundbreaking film -- a digital movie series - entitled, “The House Arrest of Us” which becomes available starting on October 25 to viewers worldwide on iWantTFC and TFC IPTV, with a new episode dropping every Sunday (Manila time) henceforth. For more information on “The Hows of Us” on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and iWantTFC and “The House Arrest of Us” on iWantTFC and TFC IPTV, visit mytfc.com/ movies.
Life in the rhythm of 90s OPM music in the nostalgic “Ang Huling El Bimbo” musical, now available worldwide on TFC IPTV and iWantTFC QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES, October 29, 2020-Get ready to take a trip down memory lane while watching the talked-about hit Filipino musical, “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” which is now streaming in countries outside the Philippines via TFC IPTV and iWantTFC. “Ang Huling El Bimbo” is a musical set in the 90s that features some of the hit singles by the iconic original Pilipino music (OPM) band Eraserheads. It is a story of a group of
friends: college students Hector, Emman, and Anthony who meet and become friends with Joy who is working in a food place they are frequenting. They are full of hopes and dreams both for themselves and the people they value until an unfortunate event tests their friendship and changes their lives. During its Philippine staging, “Ang Huling El Bimbo” received good reviews and one of them is from the Broadway star Lea Salonga who said in
her March 2019 column on The Philippine Daily Inquirer: “Truth be told, it doesn’t take being a fan of the Eraserheads, and thus desiring of 1990s nostalgia, to appreciate all that this fantastic musical is.” On the other hand, Iñigo De Paula said in his review published on Rappler in March 2019: “It takes our appreciation for a pre-existing collection of music, and uses storytelling to make us examine them. We come for the songs, but it’s the questions that will stick.”
