Who we are. WRCC is managed by Dickinson Parks & Recreation
The West River Community Center was built in 2004 and has had several additions over the years. Our latest add-on was the outdoor water park and expansion of our exercise rooms and basketball courts in 2014.
The West River Community Center (WRCC) is a 135,000 square foot center, managed by Dickinson Parks & Recreation. The facility was built with a “western edge” design that blends with the landscape of southwest North Dakota with the philosophy that community recreation centers should entertain, educate and promote health and well-being.

AGE GUIDELINES.
SAFETY IS KEY!
Childcare: For ages 8 weeks to 7 years. Our drop-in childcare is available to give you the opportunity to use our facility kid free.
*Facility Orientation Class: For ages 12+ years old. The purpose of this 30-minute course is to provide direction in safety, technique, and gym etiquette to youth members, along with anyone interested in learning more about the fitness equipment. Participants will learn how to properly use our cardio and strength machines and equipment from one of our certified personal trainers. You will be able to use the fitness equipment without supervision upon completion of this course.
Cell Phones
• Using a cell phone while operating equipment is dangerous. If you need to use it, step outside the fitness area.
• It’s disrespectful to be on your phone while blocking equipment or camping out between sets. Get off the equipment if you’re not using it.
• A quick snap is acceptable on occasion. But if your photo is disrupting another person’s workout or prolonging the time on a particular machine, put your phone away.
Cleaning of Equipment
• Always clean equipment after each use.
Proper Attire
• Wear appropriate attire while working out. No street shoes or open toed shoes allowed. Wear shoes in the building at all times. Please workout with a shirt on. We want it to be a pleasant atmosphere for everyone.
Sound Off
• Though it is natural to make grunting noises in a workout, don’t get carried away.
• Use headphones, do not blast music through phone speakers.
Use a Locker
• Leave bags and other personal belongings that you do not intend to use during your workout in a locker, available in the locker rooms or in the hallway.
• Remember to bring your own lock or purchase a locker membership.
Personal Hygiene
• As a courtesy to other members, make personal hygiene a priority.
• Do wear clean clothes, do not wear heavy perfumes, colognes and lotions.
Water Fountain
• Please do not spit in the water fountain. It’s unsightly and unsanitary.
Weight Equipment
• Return all equipment to its original place as soon as you are done. Plates should be removed from bars after use as the next person using it may not be able to lift them.
• Step away from the dumbbell rack, others need space to access weights.
• Avoid dropping weights on the floor or slamming of plates.
Resting/Circuit Training
• Don’t sit on machines or benches while resting between sets and do not monopolize multiple pieces of equipment during circuit training.
• Allow others to use the equipment while you are resting or between pieces of equipment. Also, if you are the one waiting, it’s perfectly okay to ask to work in a set.
Thank you for your cooperation!
