El objeto de este proyecto es analizar los edificios “Casa do Sever” y “Casa do Moinho”, antiguos edificios industriales que funcionaban como molinos hidráulicos y casa de queseros, para realizar una diagnosis y una propuesta de intervención con objeto de dar a los inmuebles una nueva función arquitectónica de alojamiento rural. En relación a la propuesta de intervención, se va a seguir un modelo arquitectónico en el que se preserve la naturaleza de los inmuebles en cuanto a aspecto y adecuación al entorno, creando un nuevo módulo que suponga un contraste en el estilo

arquitectónico introduciendo un estilo modernista. Se proyecta una nueva dependencia que adoptará el nombre de Módulo Común, situado entre ambos inmuebles, ocupando la mayor parte de superficie posible. Conectará ambos inmuebles por la planta primera de éstos, quedando en planta baja un espacio diáfano que permita el libre tránsito a través de ella. Respecto a la nueva función que cumple el inmueble, este se proyecta para darle un uso de alojamiento rural que actúe como apoyo logístico al Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e da Biodiversidade (I.C.N.B.).

Uno de los elementos más característicos de este proyecto es el tratamiento de la canalización de agua que daba vida al molino hidráulico, y que pasa por debajo de la “Casa do Sever”. La dividiremos en dos tramos, el primero correrá bajo la cocina, estará canalizado por medio de una tubería de conducción de acequias enterradas y estará oculto a la vista. El segundo tramo consistirá en una “piscina”, formada por un cajón de hormigón armado y revestido por un aplacado de piedra rústica, a la que precipitará el agua proveniente de la acequia, y a través de la cual se devolverá el cauce a su recorrido original. Éste tramo corresponde a la Sala Museo y tiene la particularidad de que será visto, por medio de un vidrio transitable que hará las funciones de solería.

El proyecto comienza en la zona portuaria de Marsella, donde la atención del recién llegado es atraída por los “jirones de nube” que se forman en la primera fase del “Ciclo del Agua”, la evaporación. Éstas hacen de anfitrionas en el desembarco y son las responsables de guiar al viajero a través de la cuidad por el recorrido que se proyecta. La ruta llega al núcleo de la instalación, situado en la plaza xxx en el barrio de Noailles. En este punto se inicia la segunda fase, la condensación. Es el punto neurálgico del proyecto, consistente en una instalación multifuncional que dota de servicios a la plaza y a

los habitantes de Marsella, sean residentes o recién llegados. Consiste en una “gran nube” compuesta de toda el agua procedente de la anterior fase de evaporación. El ciclo del agua continúa y se da la precipitación. Si seguimos el curso de los “ríos” formados por la precipitación de la “gran nube” se puede llegar a las localizaciones de primera necesidad en la ciudad de Noailles. Sabremos que hemos llegado ya que encontraremos un pequeño apéndice de la gran nube que hará las funciones de fuente de agua potable.

To build an inflatable structure was something that challenged us from the beginning . We were so excited about the idea of building and designing our own structure, but first we had to learn how to design them . It all started creating some models that lead us to understand how these kind of structure perform , and which were the right solutions to adopt . We were trying different shapes , and also we were figuring out how the joints could be made, and how the fan could be attached to the structure. We had many kind of problems . At first there was a problem in joining the piece of plastic together and then there was the problem in creating a

certain kind of shapes . Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s not always simple when the shape that you design have a different type of form when you inflate it . But anyway we faced all these problem and handled them in order to have more confidence with the behavior of these structure . At this point we were ready in designing our structure . First we took a look around, thinking about how to locate it and any possible relations with le place . Then after we spoke with other students, and we thought about the possibility to join our structure together . The idea instantly flashed us, in a way that led us to think that couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t be any other way to achieve an important result .

During this semester, we have been working about Shigeru Ban architecture. Specificly, the buildings studied in this process has been the Pompidou Metz. A museum of modern and contemporary arts located in Metz, capital of Lorraine, France. It is a branch of Pompidou arts centre of Paris, and features semipermanent and temporary exhibitions from the large collection of the French National Museum of Modern Art, the largest European collection of 20th and 21st century arts. And The Nicholas G. Hayek Center in Ginza, the headquarter of Swatch Group in the Ginza business district of Tokyo, an area ringed by skyscrapers dating from the 1960s.

We can see the final result of the semester here in phase 5, where we have hybridize our projects with another two Rem KoolhaasÂ´s projects: Bordeaux House and Seattle Library. On the one hand, for the small model, we mixed Nicolas G. Hayek Center with Bordeaux House. We brought the main dominant strategy of the second one and we included it on our model. Its main strategy was: different materials for the different volumes or spaces and the platform for the vertical communication. On the other hand, we blended the Pompidou Center with the Seattle Library. In this case, the main dominant strategy which we took was: vertical communication, the cover, the space between the volumes and the cover.

mo_gal l er y Movember_caravaca.2014 Se trata de un proyecto para el desarrollo de un museo temporal con carácter benéfico a favor de la iniciativa “MOVEMBER”. Decidimos llevar a cabo este proyecto debido a que, como colectivo, estamos sensibilizados con la causa y se pretende colaborar con Movember por la importancia que tienen las acciones llevadas a cabo por esta organización, desde el punto de vista sanitario y social y divulgativo. Se pretende desarrollar una exposición efímera de arte y fotografía donde se expondrán trabajos de artistas y fotógrafos jóvenes, tanto locales como interesados de toda la región. Pretendemos crear una instalación por medio de estructuras neumáticas, que se materialice y sea visitable durante los sábados del mes de “movember” y actúe como hito atrayendo la atención de los ciudadanos.

This is a project to develop a temporary museum with charitable character in favor of the “MOVEMBER” initiative. We decided impulse this proyect because, like as a colective, we are aware with the cause and expect to colaborate with Movember due to the significance of its actions from the social, divulgative and sanitary perspective. So it is to develop a photography and art ephemeral exposition, where will be exposed young artists works from the village and the whole region too. We pretend to create a pneumatic structure instalation which appears and could be visited during “movember” month saturdays and behave as an icon in order to catch the citizen atention.

Los alumnos de Javier Sánchez Merina junto con el arquitecto canadiense Manuel Baez comenzamos un taller en el que se experimentaron formas imposibles en la construcción. El objetivo, cambiar los conceptos tradicionales de enseñanza en construcción y diseño de estructuras para concebir nuevas formas constructivas. Formas capaces de formar parte de una malla mayor que, trabajando conjuntamente a flexión proporcionan una resitencia y geometrías únicas e inesperadas. El taller avanzaba sin un proyecto definido. La exerimentación con las capacidades estructurales que nos ofrecían las mallas construidas nos condujo a la estructura y forma que definiría el proyecto final.

The architecture students and architects Javier Sánchez Merina and Manuel Baez started a workshop which was aimed to create impossible forms in construction. The objective, to change traditionals preconcibe ideas of construction and design and learn concepts for apply to new geometrical forms which support other great mail. Joining the whole structure like one, this new structure is able to set up itself, blending its sticks, catching endurance and strength in flexion forces. Without inicial project defined, we tryed toings forms, trying out and we finalley find out the final structure. Other new concept to work is coming.

La vivencia de una puesta de sol que refleja sus rayos en el mar es la imagen que guía el camino de este proyecto, la necesidad de transportar a todos aquellos que están lejos hasta la orilla del Mediterráneo. Está llegando el ocaso... la experiencia comienza con la ascensión por una escalera de caracol que se adentra en la oscuridad de una turbina. El camino se detiene en un espacio poblado por la luz y el agua. La atmosfera del lugar huele a salinas y lavanda. Las plataformas formadas por redes de catamarán se superponen a modo de dunas en la ribera mientras que el agua corre bajo ellas. En el horizonte, el atardecer rojo se filtra a través de la espuma que forma la cascada que circunda el límite del espacio. Y mientras las cañas esconden al sol en el Mediterráneo, la luz va diluyéndose y la bóveda celeste va pintándose de noche, en un azul profundo y oscuro. Las constelaciones ocupan de nuevo su lugar en el firmamento... ...y por un instante vuelves a estar en casa.
