About
Guadalajara It is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is the second lasgest city of the country and the numer 10 of Latin America. The city's economy is based on industry, especially information technology, with a large number of international ďŹ rms having manufacturing facilities in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. Other, more traditional industries, such as shoes, textiles and food processing are also important contributing factors. Guadalajara is a cultural center of Mexico, considered by most to be the home of mariachi music and host to a number of large-scale cultural events such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, and globally renowned cultural events which draw international crowds. This city was named the American Capital of Culture for 2005, and hosted the 2011 Pan American Games.

Our Projects
In order to contribute towards building a better country and a better city, we recognized the importance of aligning our incoming Global Citizen projects to The Global Goals. With each speciďŹ c project, we address one Global Goal. We strive to empower youth, communities and government to act with a sense of urgency in building a better Mexico.
Reduced Inequalities
Smiles In this project, you will have the chance to facilitate workshops for children in orphanages! You'll help them with: culture sharing, learning another language, artistic activities, learning from other countries, playing in outdoor activities, health & lifestyle develoment, among others. All of this, speaking spanish! You will have to interact and be responsible of children of different ages. Sometimes you will help maintaining order, preparing and serving lunch. Duration: 6 weeks
Elderly This project will let you support elders in a fun and interactive way. You will be helping and taking care of them, playing and exercising with them and will have the chance to assist them in fundraising activities. Besides, you will coordinate campaigns like clean environment, empathy, punctuality, etc. You will also support them on the asylum´s evening activities. Duration: 6 weeks
Quality Education
English Workshops This is a program in which you will have the opportunity to help university students practice their engish language skills. You will interact with them in your natal language, share with them your culture, and learn from theirs. You will have small groups and will meet with them at a chosen time and place. Duration: 6 weeks
French Workshops This is a program in which you will have the opportunity to help university students practice their french language skills. You will interact with them in your natal language, share with them your culture, and learn from theirs. You will have small groups and will meet with them at a chosen time and place. Duration: 6 weeks
German Workshops
This is a program in which you will have the opportunity to help university students practice their german language skills. You will interact with them in your natal language, share with them your culture, and learn from theirs. You will have small groups and will meet with them at a chosen time and place. Duration: 6 weeks
