The Sun Temple of Konark
You will start your journey in the city of Calcutta, nowadays known as Kolkota. In the years of the British Empire, the city grew to become a flourishing trading centre with imposing Victorian buildings and churches. Kolkota was able to maintain a strong cultural identity that radiates humanity and energy. The City’s charm lies in the decaying grandeur of the old capital, its people and electric contrasts.
The Sun Temple of Konark is one of India's sacred destinations. Build in the 13th century, this Hindu temple is dedicated to the sun god. It is especially famous for its exquisitely carved stone sculptures. The temple was built as a chariot for the sun god, with 24 wheels and 7 horses dragging the temple. Even in its ruined state, the Sun Temple is inspiring and gives you a great taste of the architect’s genius.

Darjeeling, or ‘The Queen of the Hills’ as it is called, lies at a height of 2134 metres and offers a fantastic view of the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. Here you will stay at the Glenburn Tea Estate and learn everything about the cultivation of the world famous Darjeeling tea.
The Gahirmatha coast in the district of Orissa is one of the most reputed breeding grounds for the Olive Ridley sea turtle. As this site is only one of the three areas in the world visited by the sea turtles, both government and NGOs have put in allot of effort to create a safe environment for the turtles. The best time to visit the now protected area is from October until February.
