Avoid These Items During Breastfeeding Period
If you think that when your pregnancy period is over, you can attack over any food item of your choice, well, I have a bad news for you. You still have to stop yourself a little more while you are breastfeeding your child. There are some food items that can get mixed with the milk in your body and might not be liked by your baby. To name a few, they are:
Caffeine – Need a coffee break when you can’t get your nap properly? Sorry, you can’t have that too. Caffeine present in your coffee can get diluted to the milk and the baby’s little digestive system is not capable enough to digest it.
Chocolate – A little sweet wouldn’t do any harm… did you seriously think that? The chocolate is a yummy treat but it can turn troublesome for the baby. If an infant will have the milk after you had chocolate, it will show some laxative effect soon. So, it’s better to be at a distance from chocolate for some more time.
Garlic: Who doesn’t loves the cute and silly faces that the babies make? But, these expressions are not highly appreciated at the time of nursing. Sometimes, the child might not want to be nursed or make faces while consuming the milk. Garlic present in your food can be a leading cause, as it gets mixed with the milk and not be liked by your little one. Hence, it is good to avoid it.
There are other food items like citric fruits or fishes and alcohol (obviously) that breastfeeding women must avoid. And there could be other items that might not be liked by your child specifically. So, you need to take a note of the food you eat and the related expressions your child deliver at the time of nursing, as it would help in knowing what your child likes and what he/she doesn’t.
