Good Bacteria For Monsoon

All the foodies out there will agree that the rainy season brings with it the food items that are associated with it. The Pakodas, the fries and the occasional Chai becomes a regular part of our eating habits. Although nobody can deny the joy of eating these ritualistic snacks, the excess of these snacks can be damaging to our body. However, if you still don’t want to miss out on the fun, you can maintain a balance. The rainy season is also known for the diseases and illnesses that it brings with it, this is because of all the bad bacteria in the moist surroundings and, it can be countered with good bacteria. Yes, don’t be surprised, bacteria are good too. Include the following items to cultivate that good bacteria in your body, prebiotic and probiotic work together as a shield to save us from all the infections and diseases common to the rainy season by keeping our gut healthy.

Bananas: Good for weight-loss because of its fibrous nature. It also consists of complex carbohydrates. Banana works as a fuel for the bowel movement and keeps our gut healthy.

Whole Grains: This is no secret that whole grains are rich in nutrients, everything from protein, fiber and Vitamin B is present in whole grains.

Idli: South Indian cuisine can be considered very rich in probiotic. Fermented food is good for our health as the minerals get absorbed more easily in our body. Idli, Dosa and other items from the cuisine can be included in the diet.

Yogurt: When talking about probiotic, we can’t get away without mentioning the best sources of it like Yogurt and Dahi. Best time to eat them is at Lunch.
