Volunteer Appreciation Week • April 10-16 Life is a wonderful journey and you never know where it will take you. Volunteering can help on that journey and you can be more than a passive traveler. Ever wonder what it takes to be a volunteer? Well, only your time! It is a job that pays nothing, but a smile. Volunteers are individuals who reach out beyond the confines of paid employment and normal responsibilities to contribute time and service to a cause that benefits others as well as satisfying to themselves. Volunteers play a vital role in our community. They are needed in a wide variety of opportunities

on base and off. These opportunities range from administrative support, athletic coaches, mentors, pharmacy technicians, and more. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, network, and offer help with skills you already use. During this week help celebrate our great volunteers. As Martin Luther King Jr., stated, “Everyone has the power for greatness, not for fame, but for greatness, because greatness is determined by service.” If you would like more information on volunteering, please call (843) 794-7480 or (843) 963-4406.
