The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board exists to advise and make recommendations to the City Council concerning policy matters related to the establishment, maintenance and operation of the City’s parks and recreation programs. Cancellations of programs or events made five days prior to the start of a program will receive a full credit to their account or a refund will be issued. NB PARD continually strives to provide quality programs and offers a Satisfaction Guarantee. In the event that the participant is not satisfied with a class or program, the participant may either repeat the program at no cost, or receive a 100% refund or account credit, at the discretion of the participant.

The recreation league teaches the basics of the game, skill development, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Description
Parent/Child Ages: 6 months–48 months
Familiarize children with the water and teach swimming readiness skills. Provide safety information for parents and teach techniques parents can use to orient their children to the water. Parents must be in the water.
Preschool Ages: 4–5
Familiarize children to the aquatic environment and help them acquire rudimentary basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around water.
Level 1 Introduction to Aquatic Skills Ages: 6-12
Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water. Skills to be learned: Bobs, blowing bubbles, glides and recovery, very basics of freestyle.
Level 2 Fundamental Aquatic Skills Ages: 6-12
Build on the basic aquatic skills and water safety skills and concepts learned in Level 1. Skills to be learned: Combined arm & leg action on front, various floating techniques, increased distance swim.

SOUL SEARCHING CEMETERY TOUR october 18 and 19 Experience the history, tradition and beauty of the Comal Cemetery. Do you love your library? Let your voice be heard! During the last hour of the second Saturday’s Drop-in Volunteer Hours, teens can earn volunteer credit by attending the Teen Advisory Board meeting and voicing opinions about services the library offers. TAB is a chance for teens to help develop new programs and to give the Youth Services Department feedback on the youth area and books the library purchases for teens and young adults.
