As we kick off a new Chamber year, we’re excited about the opportunities ahead for Ingleside. While we continue to face challenges such as high inflation, hiring difficulties, and increasing costs, we remain steadfast and committed to navigating these hurdles.
Looking to the future, we’re dedicated to improving our events and fostering stronger connections within our community.
Over the past year, we’ve welcomed over 25 new members to the Ingleside Chamber of Commerce and reintroduced our Business of the Month initiative, celebrating new businesses with ribbon cutting ceremonies and grand openings.
Our Chamber is excited to keep the tradition of Ingleside Round Up Days and the Music Festival alive. Last year, we introduced an additional day of celebration, which we intend to maintain in the future.

Ingleside Independent School District (IISD) is keen on producing students who meet the demands of the ever-evolving workforce. While the district educates more than 2,000 students each year, Ingleside High School has developed programs that meet the needs of local industries surrounding the area. Students have the opportunity to enroll in Career Technical Education (CTE) programs that are designed to prepare them for the workforce with an industry certification. The students’ coursework includes industry certifications in:
•Health Sciences
•Business
•Education
•Welding
•Millwright
•Instrumentation
•Engineering
•Computer Science
•Multimedia Studies
•Culinary Arts
Principal of IHS, Dr. Steven Edlin shared that having the CTE Programs are important because “they give students an opportunity to experience real life situations in an educational environment. The skills that students learn while completing our CTE Programs of Study will help them after graduation to become a productive member of society.”
The opportunities don’t stop there. After the residents of Ingleside voted to pass a 28.8 million dollar bond package in May 2021 to enhance its campuses, the District began construction to build a state-of-the art technical center. This new building has upgraded the welding program and will house students who will train to earn Welding Certifications with Del Mar College. In the future, the aforementioned CTE programs will have their own campus dedicated to those students who will earn an industry certification concurrently with their high school diploma.
During the 2023-2024 school year, seniors graduated with 188 industry certifications. Overall, Ingleside Independent School
District is confident that its students are prepared to meet the demands of surrounding industries when they enter the next phase of life after graduation. The District is pleased that students have a choice to find a pathway that piques their interests and exposes them to career fields that may not be otherwise sought.
One thing the district is most proud of within the Mustang Family is that IHS students are ahead of the curve and are ready to fill in the gaps as they embark on their futures. Interested parents and students who want to join in the district’s vision of ‘Come be a part of the Family’ can learn more about the ‘District of Champions’ at www.inglesideisd.org. •

The Ingleside Trashion Fashion Show was created two years ago when the Chamber President got the idea to copy an episode of a fashion show where they used items to create a sustainability outfit. The Chamber took the idea and ran with it. This show is usually scheduled for the last Thursday of February.
The fashion show showcases wearable garments using recycled materials.
The contest is open to students, teachers, upper and lower classmen, community groups, adults and individuals who has a desire to turn trash into fashion, to create fun wearable garments from discarded material, and to recycle and repurpose “junk” into fabulous and fantastic fashion.
Entrants are encouraged to let their imaginations go, be inventive, and to “think outside of the recycle bin.” Ideas and creations submitted for entry must be the original work of the submitting entrant(s).
Our rules are as follows:
1. Fashion items must be made from at least 85% recyclable materials.
2. Fashion items can include cardboard, steel/tin, aluminum, plastics, paper cartons, Styrofoam, newspaper, mixed papers (magazines, junk mail, and catalogs), paper bags, and other materials.
3. Binding materials may be used to hold the pieces together. These might include glue, tape, string, twine, staples, and other materials. These materials may be purchased new.
4. If your fashion article is being attached to a fabric base, this cannot be bought new. Please purchase from a second-hand store or use something from your own or a friend’s closet.
5. Fashion pieces must be durable enough to wear throughout all levels of the Fashion Show.
6. Up to four people can be on a Trashion design team. Each entry must provide its own model. The model does not have to be part of the design team.
7. Entrants will need to describe your fashion item on the registration form and include your name or team name, the material used to make the item and use 1 fact about the recycled material that you used. (Example: Angie’s dress is made of 138 sheets of paper. In the U.S., we throw away 4.5 million tons of office paper each year). This description will be read by the emcee as your model is walking along the runway.

The Ingleside Roundup Days and Music Festival has been a beloved event for over 50 years. It began in 1969 as a humble street dance and barbecue and has since developed into a community favorite.
Organized by the Ingleside Chamber of Commerce, this annual festival takes place every spring at N.O. Simmons Park, conveniently located just off Hwy. 361 on Avenue J.
Roundup Days and Music Festival has grown to be the chamber’s largest fundraiser of the year, offering attendees three days of live music, food trucks, marketplace vendors, and various special events designed to entertain all ages.
For those who wish to get up close to the bands, we offer a VIP area that includes its own bar, and each table receives a swag bag along with appetizers.
The music lineup features a variety of genres, including Oldies, Country, Rock & Roll, Tejano, and Conjunto. Additionally, a carnival will be set up, featuring thrilling rides such as a Ferris Wheel.
Admission is free from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, and children ages 8 and under, as well as Veterans and Active Military personnel, can enjoy free entry for all three days.
For more information about the Ingleside Roundup Days and Music Festival, please call the chamber office at 361-776-2906, email us at inglesidetxchamber@gmail.com, or visit our website at www.inglesidetxchamber.com.
We look forward to seeing you at the Ingleside Roundup Days & Music Festival!
The Ingleside Chamber is excited to announce the return of the Ingleside Renaissance Faire. Step back in time at the Ingleside Renaissance Faire. Enjoy jousting, pyro-jugglers, great music, food, arts, craft vendors and much more!
It is by Proclamation of the Renaissance King and Queen that the Ingleside Renaissance Faire return in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand Twenty Four. Let it be declared doubled in size and your presence requested on the second weekend in December.
All ye that attend shall eat, drink and be merry!
The veil of darkness shall be lifted as the past comes alive at Live Oak Park. These days shall be open to all kings and queens, knights and fair maidens, fairies, commoners and court jesters.
Watch out as the massive oak trees at the park become home to elves, trolls, goblins, and dragons. •
We love our community!
