On-Call Firefighters Needed! Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for on-call firefighters to join on-call fire stations around the county On-call firefighters aren't based at a fire station, instead they carry a pager and respond to emergency incidents as and when they happen. The Service has introduced a new daytime contract to the oncall service, which allows people to be available to respond to emergencies from just 24 hours a week, for example while working at their regular day job or from home. The new contract is available for anyone interested in joining an on-call station, providing they can offer a minimum of 24 hours

per week (between 7am and 7pm during the week) and attend the weekly drill night. On-call firefighters can be men and women that come from every walk of life. They may be at home, working for themselves or a nearby company, or even out in their local community. They must maintain their availability to respond to emergencies by staying within five minutes travel time of the fire station. They receive an annual wage plus additional payments for attending incidents and drill nights.

Those interested in finding out more can visit www.cambsfire.gov.uk/on-call or email recruitment@cambsfire.gov.uk

Don’t let online romancers steal your heart - or your money With the most romantic day of the year just around the corner. Valentine’s Day is not just for those people who are already ‘coupled up’ An estimated seven million UK residents are registered on dating sites, and around one in three relationships in the UK now start online. However, while for many it may be romance and roses; for an increasing number of others it can spiral into heart break and a financial misery. Romance fraud affects thousands of people; with woman making up the majority of victims. According to Action Fraud, scammers swindled victims out of an average of £11,145 each during 2018. There are many local stories including one woman who lost everything, including her home (read the full story at the link below*). Fraudsters trick victims into sending money or gather enough personal information to steal their identities; resulting in an overall cost to victims of £50 million. The majority of accounts on dating websites are genuine people looking for romance, but fraudsters may try to contact you by making fake profiles, getting in touch and building what feels like a loving relationship. Once a fraudster using a fake dating profile is confident that they’ve won your trust, they will tell you about a problem they’re experiencing and ask you to help out by sending money. They may have arranged to visit you, but need money to pay for the flight or visa. They may tell you everything has been booked but their ticket has been stolen, and you need to send money quickly to get them on the next flight. Alternatively they may prey on your sympathies, telling you a family member or someone else they are responsible for is ill and they need money for medical treatment. Once you send them money, the fraudsters will keep coming back and invent new reasons to send them more. Read Carol’s story at https://cambridgeshireinsight.org.uk/ wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Carols-story.pdf

There are a few simple steps to keep yourself, and your loved ones, safe from fraudsters - who often target the vulnerable, the lonely or recently widowed or divorced: Don't rush into an online relationship Get to know the person, not the profile, ensuring you ask plenty of questions. The vast majority of romance fraud is initiated online.

Analyse their profile Protect yourself by confirming their identity. Check the person is genuine by putting the following into your search engine: their name, profile picture (by simply using a reverse image search) and any repeatedly used phrases, along with the term 'dating scam'. Be mindful that a fraudster could be hiding behind an alias and have changed details connecting them to previous fraudulent activity.

Talk to your friends and family Be wary of anyone who tells you not to tell others about them. Romance fraud involves grooming over a long period of time. Alienating a victim from their friends and family can make up part of that process.

Evade scams Never send money or share your bank details with someone you've only met online. It doesn't matter how long you've been speaking to them or what story they give behind needing the sum.

Stay on the dating site messenger service Fraudsters will often encourage their victims to use different communications channels that are often undetectable. Be confident that you know who you are speaking to and be wary if they fail to meet you in person.

You may start to see these posters around Hampton highlighting the impact that litter can have on the local wildlife and pets. The RSPCA receive around 5000 calls a year about animals injured by litter and although these images may be shocking, it is important that people are aware of the damage that littering can cause. We are lucky in Hampton to have two lengthmen as well as two Hampton in Action community litter groups that help to keep the streets as clean as possible however, litter continues to be a prevailing issue in Hampton Litter can sadly become hazardous when found accidentally by animals and we urge you to think before dropping litter and consider the impact that it may have on animals and wildlife

Roger Tallowin It’s goodbye but not farewell from Roger After more than 20 years at the helm of the Hamptons, Roger Tallowin, O&H Hampton’s general manager, has retired.

Plastic bags Animals can climb inside plastic bags and suffocate or attempt to eat them and choke. Simply tying a knot in the top of plastic bags and recycling can help prevent deaths.

Plastic can holders Animals can also get entangled in plastic can holders and suffer deep wounds or even choke. Help prevent suffering by always cutting the loops before recycling.

Containers and cans

Animals looking for food can get trapped in cans or injured by sharp edges. To help prevent harm to animals, clean and empty containers after use and pinch cans shut or cut containers in half before recycling whenever possible.

Elastic bands Elastic bands, although seemingly harmless can in fact wrap around small animals and the beaks of birds. If swallowed they can also cause choking. By reusing bands where possible or cutting them open before putting in a bin, you can really help prevent harm to animals.

Glass Broken glass can also cause serious injury and animals can sometimes get trapped in jars. Be sure to clean and recycle glass to help prevent injuries and avoid unnecessary harm.

Cigarette Butts Cigarette butts Contain lots of toxins that can be especially harmful to wildlife and can create a powerful and deadly solution, killing fish and other water creatures. Please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly by extinguishing completely and putting them into a cigarette bin. It is simple to help protect animals, wildlife and the environment! If you would like further information on the litter kills campaign please visit the Clean-up Britain website www.cleanupbritain.org Hampton in Action – Please search “Hampton in Action” on Facebook for litter picking dates. Lakota (Lover of Nature)

Crows in Spring The Crow will tumble up and down At the first sight of spring And in old trees around the town Brush winter from its wing No longer flapping far away To naked fen they fly, Chill fare as on a winter's day, But field and valley nigh; Where swains are stirring out to plough And woods are just at hand, They seek the upland's sunny brow And strut from land to land, And often flap their sooty wing And strut to neighbouring tree, And seem to try all ways to sing And almost speak in glee. The ploughman hears and turns his head Above to wonder why; And there a new nest nearly made Proclaims the winter by. John Clare

Sleek and black, with finger-like wings, the crow flew across our Vale garden – and he wasn’t alone; for there followed a multitude of cawing friends across the darkening sky: a murder! Yes, that’s one of the collective nouns for crows. But there are others: a horde, a hover, a mob and even a parliament of crows. And they are definitely very black: their legs, feet, feathers and beak. You see them resting in the trees which border James’s Lake, and around the Serpentine Lake in Hargate. And unmistakable they are, with their silhouette of blackness. They can be mistaken for rooks, but if you look closely the white-faced rook can be distinguished. Crows mate for life and, unlike rooks, each pair nest on their own. Their nests are built high up in the forks of trees and constructed of twigs and mud, and then lined with bark, grass and sheeps' wool. They have a wide-ranging diet of worms, beetles, insects, seeds, mice, snails, slugs and any

14

other edible scraps they can find. Being quite large birds, weighing approximately half a kilogramme and about 50 centimetres in length, they can, and do, take food from other birds if they have the opportunity; even birds as large as gulls. They are amongst our cleverest of birds with some having been taught to solve complex tests. Some have been seen to use vehicles on roads to crack nuts for them. A less popular crow, named ‘Asbo’ in London in 2014 was seen dive-bombing people and stealing washing and food. It seems that they are known to be tamer in urban areas due to lack of persecution, whereas in the countryside farmers are not keen on their freshly-sown seeds being eaten, young lambs being attacked or eggs and chicks of game birds being taken.

On the limb of an oak sat a cunning old crow, And chatted away with glee, As he saw the old farmer go out to sow, And he cried, "It's all for me! Anon

Winter Ladybird Survey This winter, Buglife hosted a two-week Ladybird Survey over the Christmas break, a time of year when traditionally ladybirds hibernate. The survey received 145 records of 1200 ladybirds, including 18 aggregations of ladybirds, but only three east of Birmingham The non-native invasive harlequin ladybirds generally form the indoor winter aggregations. There were fewer aggregations recorded than predicted. This does raise the question of whether there are fewer Harlequins this winter than recent years? A number of predators and parasites nematode, mite, fungus and wasp - have recently been found attacking harlequins. If this is the case, then perhaps our native ladybirds can recover from the impact of harlequins, or is this more symptomatic of an overall decline of all ladybirds? There were records from Ramsey and Oundle sent in but both were of a single ladybird, and in Peterborough, just after the survey closed, I found a number of 7-spot ladybirds on a walk, but no sign of any harlequins. If you are interested in looking further into the Ladybird Survey results, the UK Ladybird Survey is a long-running, volunteer-led recording scheme collating information on all ladybirds. We are excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with you all in mapping the distribution of ladybirds across the UK. The information gathered will be used in many different ways to assess the status and trends of ladybirds.

Hampton College It has been a busy few weeks at the College

Hampton Gardens Derrick Osaze visits Hampton Gardens On Friday 10 January 2020, 110 students received personal training from ‘The Punching Preacher’ this morning, they discussed diet, training plans, time management and how to cope with pressure. Derrick also known as ‘Delboy’ was a fantastic presenter giving relevant examples of challenges and successes he has faced in his career so far. His main message he made students recite back to him repeatedly in assembly ‘to fail means it’s your first attempt at learning’. Students felt inspired and enjoyed sharing their experiences with Derrick and asked plenty of questions! His passion and joy for working with young people was clear throughout the morning. Christmas Tree Festival On 6 December 25 Hampton Gardens

students made up of our choir, band, solo instrumentalists and members of our drama group, performed at the Christmas Tree Festival in St Peter’s Church, Yaxley. This was a fantastic start to the festive celebrations and an opportunity to bring parents, friends and our local community together, to reflect on the season ahead, enjoy the sparkle of the tree lights, some festive treats and enjoy the entertainment our students had to offer. Winter Festival On Tuesday 17 December students across all the primary and secondary Hampton Schools joined together to showcase their talents as part of the annual Winter Festival. It was an amazing evening full of festive performances with a programme featuring music, drama, dance and art.

Sixth Formers have been sitting their Pre-Public Examinations ahead of their formal exams in the summer, Year 9 students are in the process of making their options decisions for courses they will study in Year 9 and the many activities for July’s Enrichment Week have been launched. Ultimate STEM challenge, to design a unique and enterprising wearable technology. These have been entered into a nationwide competition, the winning team could have an all expenses paid trip and win money for the school’s STEM projects. An example of the entries include a very practical 'hairphone' which has bejewelled access to a calculator, compass, an SOS button alongside social media apps. It has the added benefit of being customised for every user! Students continue to receive Head’s Commendations from Mr Gilligan in Staff Briefing on Friday mornings. Isabelle in Year 9 received her Head’s Commendation for competing in the British Women's Open tennis event and finishing runner up in the competition and playing at National Tour event level. Joseph in Year 11 received his Head’s Commendation for winning a gold medal in the Junior Karate European Championships. They are one of the many talented students we have at the College who are regularly being recognised for their successes, both inside and outside the College. Musharaf Asghar, one of the stars of Educating Yorkshire in 2014 was our guest speaker at the Certificate Presentation Evening. Mushy was struggling to complete the oral part of his English GCSE which was worth 20% of the overall grade. However with support from his teacher, Mr Burton and a little help from the film 'The King's Speech', Mushy discovered that he could temporarily overcome his stammer whilst listening to music through headphones. The evening was a fantastic success, with over 200 students and their families and friends attending, making for a positive celebration of all our students’ fantastic achievements. Awards were given to students who have gone above and beyond in both their progress and contribution to life at the College.

Folksworth The new term is well underway and our children are busy learning how to keep themselves healthy in mind, body and soul

Hampton College Primary Phase It has been a great start to the spring term so far at Hampton Hargate Our Reception children have once again been busy investigating the mysterious disappearance of some scooters from school. They happily took on the role of the ‘police’ and followed the clues around the school to see if they could solve the mystery. They carefully pieced all of the evidence which led them to a remarkable discovery! It was then our very own Mr Milner who confessed to taking them as she wanted to play on them. The scooters have now been given back and the case has been closed!

Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a Film night watching Toy Story 4 and Reception have been maximising their topic work with visits from both the Ambulance and Fire Service. In fundraising news, we raised money for the Alzheimer's Society with our Christmas Jumper Days at the end of last term and we will be having a non-uniform day on 14 February to raise money for JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity. There is also still plenty to look forward to during this spring term including the Year 4 Stibbington residential, our Languages Week and our fabulous end-of-term Easter Egg Raffle.

The children are learning yoga with our own qualified yogini teacher. Each session starts with the words kind heart, kind words and kind thoughts. The session follows the same pattern each time to encourage confidence though familiarity. The gentle warm up is followed by different postures such as the tree for balance or the cat for flexibility. They then flow into the relaxation to aid mindfulness and the session closes with the ringing of the Tibetan chimes. The whole group comes together to take some time to recharge and to connect.

Little Acorns Day Nursery and Montessori School

We have enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year by exploring with chopsticks, getting messy with rice and noodles and also trying Chinese food The children have enjoyed taking part in craft activities, making Chinese lanterns and Chinese dragons. The preschool children have enjoyed learning letter sounds in the alphabet and also recognising numbers. They

Experienced Private Tutor and FE Teacher with DBS enhanced certificate offers

have been exploring the environment around them to recognise numbers and letters. The preschool children are looking forward to their families joining them for lunch at the nursery soon.

The new name for football in Hampton

FC Hampton has been created to provide an innovatively run youth and adult football club to represent the growing area of Hampton in Peterborough. Built by a group of local residents, it is founded on a simple, but effective mission to provide a locally focused, passionate and forward-thinking community club to support the development of youths and adults from all backgrounds to interact and connect on the backdrop of 'the beautiful game'. Whilst the club will start competing from season 2020/21, the framework for success is already underway. With investment coming in from local businesses and entrepreneurs as well as through community funding programmes, our aim is to build a structure for all, from five-year olds through to veterans (over 35). By providing good facilities to play on, and having an ethos of inclusion, fun and support, we are starting a project that we now will stand the test of time.

We already have four men’s teams and will be starting several youth teams next season across both boys and girls. By the time the season starts, we would hope to have filled every age group and have a women’s team as well as a disability team offering. We don’t believe in relying on a five- or ten-year plans that gathers dust; we know what we want to achieve, both on and off the field, and we are already making great strides to make a difference to the people of Hampton and beyond. For us, it is

about making the right decisions, at speed – to benefit all. “We know that there is a desire to have a strong, driven and well run community club that offers opportunity for all, especially as a lot of the committee either play or have children in existing clubs – but we want to do it better. Our committee come from strong business and footballing backgrounds and have the same common ethos – to provide the youths of today, the opportunity to benefit through physical and mental

health programmes that teach skills and build life-long connections.” Chairman, Jason Lipscombe. We have already raised significant investment to put club members through FA Coaching Badges and will continue to support this as we know that this ensures that the players who join us get the very best in their footballing development. We are always looking out for players, individuals who want to support or those interested in being part of this amazing journey.

If you are interested in football and looking to join something big at the very beginning, then drop a line to Jason at chairman@fchampton.co.uk If you want to help your local club with funding or sponsorship please drop a message to James or Pete at funding@fchampton.co.uk

Money Matters

by Pete Bird, Bird & Co, Certified Public Accountants

A new way to tie the knot After 5 years of hard campaigning and lobbying, from 31st December 2019 civil partnerships are available for heterosexual unions as well as same-sex couples The advocates of civil partnerships for all identified a need for providing those who do not wish to take the route of a religious ceremony or the traditional trappings of a marriage, with a civil alternative that nonetheless provides all the legal benefits and protections of marriage. So now for the princely sum of £46, a man and a woman can book an appointment at your local Register Office to be joined in partnership on a purely civil basis. Civil partnership confers exactly the same rights of marriage with regard to sharing

assets, pensions and inheritance on death. Perhaps it will be seen as a more straightforward method of achieving legal commitment in a relationship for cohabiting couples who have no special legal rights at all. There are 3.5 million couples cohabiting today in the U.K., many of whom mistakenly believe they have the protection of “a common law marriage”. Such a concept does not of course exist. So it will be interesting to see how many choose the civil partnership option – it can certainly be a lot less trouble and expense than a wedding!

Tax Changes from 6 April 2020 Inheritance Tax (IHT) remains an unpopular tax in the minds of the UK public with many considering it to be an unfair tax, as taxpayers have already paid tax on the original earnings and income and are then taxed a second time upon death With these criticisms in mind, the Residence Nil Rate Band will be increased to £175,000 which means that along with the existing IHT Nil Rate Band, taxpayers will be able to leave estates of up to £500,000 without being liable for inheritance taxes. For estates over £2 million, this band is tapered accordingly. Landlords and those with second properties will be hit by a number of changes. Landlords will face the end of tax breaks on mortgage interest expenses, which have been gradually phased out since April 2017 and will come to an end in April 2020. Changes to lettings relief will impact on taxpayers who let out second homes. The phasing out of tax relief on mortgage interest payments will hit higher rate taxpayers. As it has been replaced by a 20% tax credit, basic rate taxpayers are likely to be unaffected although changes to how mortgage income is reported through Self Assessment may push more

taxpayers into a higher tax rate band. Other changes to Capital Gains Tax (CGT) relating to property mean that from 6th April 2020, any CGT payable on property sales must be reported to HMRC within 30 days of the sale with an advance payment on the tax due at the same time. Previously, CGT would not be reportable or payable until the individual was required to file their Self Assessment tax return. There are proposed changes to the National Insurance threshold, due to rise to £9,500 in April 2020, stating “The new government has publicly committed to improving the lot of lower-paid workers so intend to raise the threshold for National Insurance to £9,500 with a longer-term intention to raise it to the current tax threshold of £12,500”. The 2020/21 tax year begins on 6th April 2020, which is when changes to IHT, CGT and Mortgage Interest Relief will come into force. Finally, will a spring budget affect these proposals?

Favourite Peterborough Moments Hundreds of residents have shared their favourite places and moments in Peterborough as part of a citywide, award winning #1000Moments campaign The campaign is all about positively celebrating our city through sharing moments, memories, and stories of life in Peterborough. 80 residents who contributed their moments were professionally photographed and filmed, and the photographs are being posted on the Peterborough Presents Facebook page in the run up to Valentine’s Day 2020. All of the collected memories can be found on the We Love Peterborough website, and include walks along the Nene, football matches at London Road, sledging at Ferry Meadows, being Bretton Festival Princess and the joy of being in a mosh pit.

The #1000Moments project is a collaboration between Peterborough Presents, We Love Peterborough, Jumped Up Theatre, Thomas Byron Photography and Peterborough Regional College.

The campaign received a Highly Commended Award at the recent Athene Peterborough Regional PR & Media Awards 2019. Below you can see a selection of the wonderful photographs from people involved in the project, alongside the wide array of memories they have shared. What would your #1000Moments memory be?

Local people share their

Tom Fox, Lamphouse Theatre: “Hampton Folk Tales Project, Hampton Tump, we made a giant puppet made & designed by local residents. The weather wasn't great, it was rain but still loads of people joined in for the parade.”

Rachel Hilditch, CSK Church Hampton: “Last Christmas Eve, using 46 trolleys of left over stock from Aldi to feed 130 people. We had Christmas for everyone. A lovely moment where we could be there for everyone. I am looking forward to doing it again this year. It's what the church is here for. It’s also a time for people to go into the worship space to light a candle to reflect their payers at Christmas.”

KORP, Artist: “There is a new & emerging street art scene in Peterborough. At Korp Fest we have a platform for local & international artists to inspire a younger generation to scale up their work from small drawings to big murals.”

Lewis Wright, UROCK Theatre Company: “This year UROCK Youth Theatre, which I am part of, celebrated our great achievements with an evening of performances & awards. Bringing everyone together it showed I was part of a supportive community for young people who also make great work.”

Becky Owen-Fisher, Lamphouse Theatre: “I was in Eastern Angles's community play Dark Earth which was performed in a marque at Flag Fen, it was about a turbulent part of Fenrush. One day I was driving in, I was following the storm clouds. Here, was all the shades of blue in the sky. As I arrive I was shown by the parallels below the dramatic setting a story we were going to tell. I will never forget.” Anne Marie Hewitt, Library Supervisor: “Working at Werrington Library & bringing the awareness of our service to the local community. Working with our friends group who support us by holding regular coffee mornings & yearly craft fair. They also helped support my staff & I with a stall at the Werrington Carnival, again, promoting the Library & the wider Vivacity Group. The Carnival brings out a brilliant local community spirit. Lots of local businesses & groups including the Frothblowers Micro Pub & the At Last Tea Rooms. I love that I can walk around Werrington & constantly bump into people I know socially through work.”

Local chiropractor sees positive results after using Hapi Hemp CBD Oil for massages

Jo Gardiner is a fully qualified sports massage and pregnancy massage therapist who has been working at Broadway Chiropractic Clinic in Peterborough for 19 years. Here, she shares with Gazette readers the exciting results she's seeing with my CBD oil massages ' I was very excited when we started stocking the Hapi Hemp CBD Oil products at the clinic, not least because I use these products myself as I have had multiple sclerosis (MS) for 22 years, but also due to the great feedback that is emerging from patients who are enjoying these massages at the clinic. There’s still testing being carried out on CBD Oil, but the results being reported back to me are speaking for themselves!

• Reduction in chronic pain. • Reduction in inflammation. • Helping with anxiety and de-stressing. • Encouraging the body to speed up the healing process. • Improving sleep, post massage. I have a particular interest in neurological diseases because I have one myself, so I have been very intrigued, during my weekly work with a gentleman with Parkinson’s, to discover the numerous benefits that he is experiencing. He is finding that CBD really de-stresses him and reduces his anxiety. (In Parkinson's there is a reduction in the production of dopamine (the feel-good hormone) in the brain. His walking (shuffling) also improves after the massage and his neck spasms have reduced greatly, too! Whilst this could be because I've loosened his muscles manually, it could also be because of the natural anti-inflammatory properties of Hapi Hemp CBD Oil. He definitely has a much greater sense of relaxation and happiness after this oil is used for the massage, compared to any using a normal massage oil! Unlike a normal massage when I would wipe the skin afterwards, with CBD I don't wipe, and I advise not to shower after the massage until morning to let the oil soak in. When you come to the clinic, we ask you to purchase the oil from us which you then take away and bring back every time you want a massage! So, you can even try massaging your partner at home too!

Group of the Year

fit for life

fitforlife

A weight loss group in Peterborough has been awarded the title of ‘Best in the country’ for losing over 800 stones

The Hampton Vale Slimming World Group was awarded ‘Group of the year 2019’ at the National Slimming World Oscars ceremony in June. The Saturday Hampton Vale Group Run by Scott Smith beat off stiff competition from over 35,000 group sessions Nationally to win the national accolade. The members of the Hampton Vale Saturday group lost 11,200lbs, a whopping 800 stone to win the award! Each week in his groups Scott and his members celebrate their success, with both weight loss and also the ways the members change their lives, and the impact losing weight has had on the members outside of the group too. Scott said “the Slimming World food optimising plans encourages our slimmers to fill up on healthy, filling foods like fruit veg rice pasta potato lean meats and fish so it helps them to lose weight and never go hungry’ we also encourage members to get active at the same time, we call it ‘body magic’ to embrace a full

rounded healthy living lifestyle, but you’ll lose weight by just following our eating plans Scott added. Scott said I’m so proud of the members of all of my groups as it’s their success that has won this award. It’s all based on their dedication and determination to lose the weight and change their lives and come to Group each week to support each other, it truly is what makes a great group. We say in Slimming World......’Group is where the magic happens’ “I truly love seeing people come to Group each week changing their lives and gaining confidence and losing weight. In some cases it’s not just changed a life it’s saved a life too. We celebrate everything in Group, weight loss, life style changes, this award is testament to how well our members in the Hampton Saturday group are doing week in week out” With a lot of the slimmers that join, they join for lots of reasons like losing weight for a wedding or a special holiday, but a big reason is to improve

health, often meaning that a lot of our slimmers can in some case reduce of even come off of certain medication that are related to being overweight. Group Consultant Scott became a consultant in 2010 and runs groups in Hampton Vale Community Centre every Thursday evening and Saturday mornings and also in the CSK Church Hampton every Friday morning. He runs 10 sessions but he adds “there’s always room to welcome new and returning members to our Hampton Slimming World family” and it’s not just for the ladies, Scott supports around 50 men that come to the groups each week too. Like All Slimming World Consultant’s, Scott has lost weight as a member too, over 8 stone in fact and regularly attends a group himself as a member. All consultants are professionally trained by Slimming World at their Head office based in Alfreton Derbyshire. Scott added that this job is so much more than a job it truly is “the

best job in the world” it’s amazing being just a small part of people’s lives, helping and supporting them to make the changes they do to change their lives is out of this world, he wouldn’t change it for the world! It’s changed my life beyond belief and with the group, the members, Slimming World and myself together we truly do make a difference, to so many lives. The groups have a really good mix of members, all ages, male & female and we even support children from the age of 11 to make healthy lifestyle changes. In Group each week we talk about recipe ideas and how to make changes to help you lose the weight. Scott added ‘Group is a powerful place to be where everyone has got your back and is actually wanting you to do well, to change your life, everyone wants you to succeed’ Never underestimate the group, if you need a friendly shoulder or a good laugh or a friendly chat, it’s all there for you. It’s more than weight loss it’s family.

To find out more about joining Scott’s Hampton groups either just pop along to one of the sessions everyone is welcome and there’s always a cuppa waiting for you, or contact Scott on 07734 364138 or log onto www.slimmingworld.co.uk to find your nearest Warm and friendly Slimming World Group
