Analysis

Master Plan

In the district of Milano, one of the challenges was designing for all people. Plot has protected budiling from 19th century taht serves for garaging of trams. New residential area, first will include elderly as their new residence. Next to it is student dormitory with all sevices. Public space is design to meet these deversities together in the same place. Design for All consider disabled people, elderly, kids, yought. Places need to be easy accessible.

Description

Concept

Node, the new co-working space of Gallarate, brings together travellers and workers from Gallarate, Varese, Malpensa and Milano. While Villa Pasta transforms into a welcoming creative and pleasant co-working environment, the new extension enhnaces both the existing park and the Villa, as it becomes a cross-point between the two. The extension offers the users, both public and private, to visualise the main aim that the project wishes to impose : the relationship or crossing between leisure and work.

Affected by the earthquake in 2016, Norcia, Castelluccio di Norcia and Visso are deeply changed. After disaster there is opportunity for new and smarter start of a new cycle, investing in sustainable systems and solving the problems enriching the economy and making the unity and independency as much is possible. Dealing with the water Santa in Scolastica strategy, three cities Casteluccio it is developed different strategy, Visso-flood protection, Castelluccio-colFiume Sordo Piano Grande lection of water and Norcia-water redistribution of new river Torbidone.

Solutions

ARTIFICIAL LAKE using for the collection of storm water, together with the system with the canals from the mountains.

BELVEDERE POINT on the top of the mountain view point as a visual connection with the water system, Castelluccio, landscape and Piano Grande.

WATER USE water use in the town brought from the lake and after use graz water goes to the fitodepuration.

BIOFILTRATION in the valley redeveloping existing fitodepuration of gray water, making the new mixed-use center, that has functional and attraction value.

IRRIGATION AND ANIMALS after filtration of the water it can be reused for irrigation or given to the animals by the system of pumps, so the cycle of water is closed.

Project of restored train station and renaturation of Torbidone

NEW MILLS AND CONNECTIONS the proposal is to create two distinc paths through the wet land that valorize the marcite area and and connects the area with bicycle path.

RENOVATION OF FORMER TRAIN STATION a new function is proposed for the abandoned and destroyed former train station building, providing new facilities for cyclists and visitors.

TORBIDONE RENATURATION the renaturation of the Torbidone river is proposed by the use of new land art which helps control the new power and speed of the river.

RADIAL CONNECTIONS OF RIVERSIDES as a new waterscape Torbidone imposes new connections to the city and to the agrarian fields through the system of paths and small passages.

NEW IRREGATION SYSTEM new irregstion system is proposed by the use of underground canals that are connected from the Torbidone river and reach the irregate the agrarian fields

Concept

Description COLLECTIVE EMERGENCY HOUSING- The teham of the studio was post-earthquake Umbria, speciďŹ cally selected in this case the city of Norcia. The analysis are made for the whole Umbria or/and the major effected cities by destruction. At the end was developed collective housing out of modular elements, easy and cheap to montage, that can be transformed after the emergency phase and removed.

8. INTERACTIVE MAPPING OF HISTORICAL CENTRE OF VIMERCATE/GIS/CADASTERS/THESIS

Description

Location

Vimercate is a city located in the province Monza and Brianza, not far away from Milan and Monza. This excellent position has been very important since the way back to the Roman period when Vimercate was founded. Such an important historical development of the city needs to have special attention in analyzing its urban core. Nevertheless, Vimercate only recently got the attention of the individual researchers and institutions for its protection and investigation. More recently one of the biggest drivers in developing the awareness and interest in Vimercate is Politecnico di Milano, particularly the course of Preservation studio in the Master degree in Architecture and other researches from this academic institution.
