Parents & Friends of Dio The Big

BIG NIGHT OUT

In early September over 250 guests attended the Dio Big Night Out hosted by the Diocesan Parents and Friends’ Committee.

The night was the first P&F fundraising initiative for the Norfolk Pines Redevelopment project, towards which the Committee has pledged $250,000 over the next two years. This exciting project will significantly enhance the existing outdoor play and recreational areas around the Junior School and open up and develop the unused areas around Centennial Building for the entire School to enjoy.

With the theme ‘Be more than you imagine’, the costumes were incredible and inspired, and included the cast of Harry Potter, Pan Am flight attendants, the band Kiss, superheroes, and even a table of tacos!

The night’s entertainment included a quiz and silent auction. Auction Items were generously donated by many Dio families and their extended networks. The auction was online via Gala Bid, giving those who were unable to attend the event the ability to bid on items. This ensured a bidding war on many hot-ticket items, including holidays, stunning homeware items and the year-long use of a Diocesan car park swipe key.

With a mini food truck collective assembled, guests feasted on Stumpy’s pizzas, Double Dutch Loaded Fries and delicious dumplings and meatballs.

“P&F is a wonderful group of Dio parents who are incredible supporters of our School in so many ways, giving the community opportunities to build friendships with each other while raising funds for projects within the School. Thank you!”

Angela Coe, Director of Development

The night was a huge success with approximately $70,000 raised.

This event would not have been possible without the continued support of our principal sponsors ASPEC Construction and New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty, as well as the hard-working team of volunteers led by Jeremy Hill. And, of course, the wonderful and supportive parents and friends who came along

With this our last major fundraiser for 2019, we look forward to seeing you at our end-of-year cocktail party.

“It was fantastic to see so many of our Dio parents get involved and go to so much effort with their costumes”
