Dio Old Girls in Dunedin/Reunions
DIO OLD GIRLS IN Dunedin
Dio recently hosted our first Dunedin reunion in many years and we were delighted so many of our recent leavers were able to take a break from their studies to join us at Joe’s Garage.
Over 40 Old Girls responded to the invite and 30 attended the event, mostly leavers from 2015 to 2018. Principal Heather McRae made a special trip to Dunedin for the event, joining Angela Coe and Aly Lubecker from the Development Office who were there for a conference.
Thank you to all who came – we enjoyed hearing all your news since leaving Dio and hope next time to catch up with more of you. It’s surprising how many Dio Old Girls there are in Dunedin!
In the future we plan to get to Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin regularly, so make sure you keep us up to date with your contact details so that you don’t miss out on an invitation. Email

The intimate gathering of 18 girls who were in the Third Form (Year 9) in at Dio was spearheaded by Old Girls Julien Hunt, Shirley Ann McNamara and Margaret Tapper. Diocesan Development Manager Angela Coe greeted the group at School House and then took them on a tour of the School.
CLASS OF 1969
On 19 October, Dio Old Girls who were in Form 6 in 1968 or Form 7 in 1969 gathered to celebrate a significant milestone – 50 years since they left school. The event was organised by Christine White (Mitchelson) and Sonja Clapham.
CLASS OF 1989

A huge thank you to Year 13 student Francesca Sansom and her helpers who willingly gave up their early Friday evenings to take our Old Girls on tours around Dio. Despite some challenging weather conditions, the student guides were always friendly and informative, and the Old Girls have responded with their thanks and positive feedback.

CLASS OF 2009
On Friday 18 October, cocktails and canapés were served at School House for a reunion of Dio Old Girls from the Class of 2009. Head Girl Keshni Rasanayagam was instrumental in contacting girls in her year, leading to a good turnout of 30 girls on the evening.
