A promontory appears in the landscape with the construction of the LisbonCascais motor highway lacerating the previously existing valley. Conceptually, this topographical accident is part of the enormous motley that somehow characterizes this place Alcabideche and its occupation could serve as an example by spreading it to the outstanding portion of the territory and changing itself into a moralizing element. The main concern of the project is the selection of the lot and the way the that it implants itself within the land.

The attempt to adjust itself to the constraints of the surrounding is evident in its form, as a simple and abstract box reflects a course that can be decrypted at a driving pace. In what shape is concern, the school appears as a parallelipipedal container with a rectangular structure. Most importantly, an educational space of great symbolic and imagistic meaning rises in the inner part of the building a large empty space. This vital element of the project is a central and distributive corridor that results in a giant playground. This central and flexible space, characterized by large glass surfaces, is the core of the school, as all the rooms face this recreational space with the majority of them having direct access to it.

Constructively the school assimilates the logic and the pragmatism of its closest element, the motor highway, where a composite, planimetric and repetitive order is introduced as an efficient answer to the structural and functional rationalization of the site, and where blocks of concrete measuring 8 meters width by 4 meters height sustain a plastic covering of Teflon.

Locals and tourists live their everyday life in a drowning perspective. An apocalyptic vision of a nearby future where the world will be swallowed by the water, forced us to find rescue solutions. A mountain that emerges from the sea draws the future skyline of the lagoon. It´s a new landscape mark that could offer more than a biblical image. This new space is constructed along the decades and tries to respond directly to the emerging needs, similarly to the Venice history that showed us answers to its growing infrastructure problems, having no difficulties in the gaining or subtracting territories to the sea. We are willing to continue the Sacca de San Mattia original function as an enormous void used as a waste disposal container. The same strategy is used in order to gain the needed elevation to materialize our intention.

WE BUILT
The construction of a mountain allows at the same time a landscape recovery by its unique position, as the preservation of soil in this apocalyptic vision of the future. The volume of the park suggests one and only direction, the descendant angle that look towards the lagoon and conduces the visitor into it. This phased project, whose growth induces to the constant awareness of his users. Unconscionably these users are obligated to participate in the project living it differently along the years, gaining some sense of property. The construction of this idea will be fulfilled within an extensive time line, so that his growth would be extremely bounded on this premise.

Raval district is located in the medieval quarter, and is one of the most densely populated area in Barcelona, ranging from Pakistanis and Indonesians, to a more recent Eastern European community, that live the public space as intense experience, on a daily bases.
This type of occupation configures the neighbourhood a rough and vivid personality. It`s also becoming one of the hippest upandcoming neighbourhoods of Barcelona where many artists live and work.
The project is located between the main road of the lower Raval, Nou de la Rambla, that retains a surreal selection of shops and the most touristic street in Barcelona, Rambla de Catalunya. Conceptually the project occupies all lot and at the same reshapes the terrain so that it can also be used as square.
It`s crossed by a linear street that induces passengers to a lower level and entrance of the music school it also splits the program in two, the classrooms( and smaller practice rooms) and a big auditorium. The practice rooms can be rented, having independent access from the street can be used 24 hours and allows streets passengers to peek on what is happening and who is playing at that time.

The idea is to equip this religious complex with a small Library for Cistercian Studies and at same time allow this studiers to sleep here having the experience of old time monastic life. The new building communicates directly with the surrounding gardens of Sants Creus allowing visitors to experience some Catalunya countryside in a small café and an auditorium. The cells/rooms are in upper levers and visitors walk through them in ramps that fly along recreating cloister ambiences. A small Library is built in e preexisting 18 century building. The proximity of both programs creates a useful tension that is main purpose of the project.

The monastery of Sants Creus started in 1158 is one of the most well preserved monastic sites in the Cistercian Route with an enormous historical importance but it`s monastic life ended long ago. It is today in the hands of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The complex has been Frotiefied, also a refuge for Aragonese Knights Templar and invaded by Napoleonic Troops. The monastery as usually is a succession of architecture examples along the time and this new project should live well with them .

PILGRIMS CHAPELL, AZENHAS DO MAR // 05.06 RELIGIOUS TIME. 6 MONTHS TEACHER: FRANCISCO E MANUEL AIRES MATEUS VALENTINO
Corte BB`
Azenhas do Mar, is a fisherman village located along the Atlantic Coastline. Besides this picturesque natural landscape, there are several buildings of interest, particularly in the Estilo Português Suave ,with tiles on the facades. The memory of seaman is preserved with the devotion to Nossa Senhora do Mar, but above all they celebrate St. Lawrence, patron saint and protector of the land and vine, the procession is held every year in August, and the holy people carry them to the sea in a spectacular "blessing." The purpose of this project is to create the perfect conditions for this religious scene with a pilgrimage church and some accommodations. The small chapel is built inside a pre existence small storage building in a vaulted shape that looks over the sea and it`s entrance is excavated in the and land so the church could be disguised . The accommodations stay near this building, having no direct contact with outside views only a 9 m skylight. New and old live together and copy themselves creating the idea of a iconic brotherhood all in a archetype design of a house, in this case the house of lord.
MUSEUM OF MODERN ART, ALCÂNTARA,LISBOA // 04.05 CULTURAL TIME. 6 MONTHS TEACHER. NUNO MATEUS FERNANDO SALVADOR JOSÉ ADRIÃO
Alcântara was a popular industrial area in Lisbon with lots of small factories and warehouses. His central locality and proximity to river started to became a point of interest for different types of investors and nowadays its original occupation is being taken over by commercial areas and nightlife spots. Today some of the industrial spaces are being slowly rehabilitated or demolished. A destroyed factory left a huge space in the this neighbourhood of narrow streets creating the possibility to build a museum of modern art. The main concern of this project was to let this huge void as a square that could bring more public space to the city. In plan this small museum for contemporary pieces has two big arms: the big container that has inside a suspense auditorium, and a smaller one for temporary exhibitions. The draw of the building frames the square protecting people for car noise and nearby roads as well as highlights the 25 de Abril Bridge with a huge inclined facade that also discovers from beneath a independent café.
