This stunning Louis Chair with bamboo effect legs and bars and scrolled back was a fabulous find at The Ham Fair at Chatou in Paris. One of a pair we decided to cover this one with a dull silver calf skin found at the same fair. Finished in Pewter and each stud finished in the same paint we totally transformed this elegant piece. The important addition is the silhouette of Marie Antoinette cut from a piece of black leather taken from a vintage jacket. This is the softest chair we have ever had the honour of sitting on. It has been completely reupholstered and covered in a silk cut velvet, the cut-out being ostrich feathers and has been backed in an ash grey. The chair itself has been finished in a matte ash grey paint, specially mixed for us in France. The surprising addition to this chair is the huge black ostrich feather fan found at an antiques fair in Newark. This fan sits in a pocket on the back of the chair and can easily be removed and replaced. If you want to make a statement then this is the chair for you. It has been completely reupholstered and covered in a beautiful raspberry and bronze silk stripe material. The back of the chair has a 1920s coffee coloured lace and bronze coloured lame collar attached the back of the collar is on the back of the chair. The chair itself has been finished in a matte raspberry and blackened bronze paint, specially mixed for us in France. An elegant addition to any room. This perfect vintage bentwood and cane chair is in fantastic condition but the jewel in the crown is that the fabulous flower cushion that sits on it was made by a master weaver - the late Susan Foster, a weaver of international renown, with exhibited work in many private collections, including that of the Royal Family. Made from many layers of different textures of wool, all on a vibrant purple woven base. The chair has been finished in a matte aubergine paint, specially mixed for us in France, and the cane seat and backresy have been finished in a blackened bronze. It has been finished in a matte rich dark brown with the addition of the names of various coffees and milks in French and Italian, these being done in coffee and cream hence the name Cafe Table. Found at The Ham Fair in Chatou, Paris. Painted in a Matte Tropical Green, specially mixed for us in France and edged in copper. The tabletop has a vintage lace flower adhered, highlighted in tropical green . The gorgeous tasseled fringe was taken from a vintage pelmet also found in Chatou. This is a high quality mannequin which has been covered in gesso to make it super smooth. We have finished it in a matte ash grey and blackened bronze paint, specially mixed for us in France. We love the ornate topping to the neck which is superbly carved. A beautiful addition to any bedroom which we have left for you to dress. Measurements: 70cms High, Size 10

It was sitting in an old barn on a farm in Northumberland. After brushing off the straw and cobwebs we found that it had just one mark on it as if someone had smacked it with a hammer. We finished it in a dark ash grey and Regency gold paint, specially mixed for us in France. The whole of the inside is painted with Regency gold including the drawers. The carvings were highlighted in the same gold. A little vintage picture frame cut in two has been added to the bottom drawers to create handles. The surprise is that the hammer mark has been filled in in a way which makes it look as though the whole thing is actually gold underneath. Measurements: 171cms High x 125cms Wide x 48cms Deep

The fabulous table was found in a Victorian Vicarage in Northumberland and the four chairs were from a Country House Sale in Nottingham. A perfect match. The table has been painted in matte Kohl, which is a beautiful colour between grey and lilac with blackened bronze highlights and edging, specially mixed for us in France. This table opens to reveal a blackened bronze centre piece. The chairs have been finished in the same colours but we have swapped around the main colour to make 2 sets of 2. The seats are covered in a soft, lilac silk velvet with ornate, wool crewel work. The table is of the highest quality which even has ornate clips beneath to release the leaves which glide effortlessly when opening with no scraping as is the case in most tables of this type. Whenever I think of a boudoir the first person that comes to mind is Chantal Thomas the famous lingerie designer in Paris. Her statement colours are Pink and Black. Inspired by this we finished this chair in matte pale dusky pink and jet black paints, specially mixed for us in France. The black strips represent ribbons and the soft pale dusky pink velvet seat adds that bit of luxury. Take a close look at the back rest and you will see a little vintage silver plaque with the word Moi engraved on it. This makes it personal and beware anyone other than the owner that sits upon it. Gladly the shelves were not in the same condition. Finished in a matte dark ash grey and Regency gold paint, specially mixed for us in France. Each little compartment has been stencilled with a Regency gold number, these were done with some vintage brass stencils taken from a box we found in a country house clearance in Northumberland. In a sleepy old town in Northern France one Sunday we were lucky enough to come away with a fabulous haul. Finished in matte light ash grey and chalk white paints, specially mixed for us in France. We decided that this typical French Marche aux Puces deserved a mention so we stencilled the address, in chalk white, using vintage brass stencils. It looked somewhat like an envelope when we finished so we named it Return To Sender which we very much doubt the owner would want to do. Measurements: 52.5cms High x 96cms Wide x 51cms Deep

This pretty little chair was found in the barn of an old farmhouse in Northumberland and was covered in ivy, hence the trailing ivy we have applied to the beautifully ornate chair back. It just had to be called the Timetable. Found in a country house clearance in Northumberland this gorgeous ex-games table has been finished in a matte dark grey and Regency gold paint, specially mixed for us in France. The Roman numerals were applied to the top using stencils from a vintage collection of brass stencils. The top of the table lifts up to reveal a Regency gold inner, handy for keeping all that stuff that one tends to collect over time.You decide what you put in the four little corners and the centre. It has the dents and marks from previous users which all add to it's charm. Finished in matte dark ash grey and red paints, specially mixed for us in France it now would add charm to any child's bedroom. The little vintage chair was given to us by a very good friend in Paris. What do children do in their bedrooms - Work, Rest and Play we thought, so we finished one of the desk lids with a blackboard paint for Play, one for Work and the little chair for Rest. The stencilled letters were created by using vintage brass stencils. (Note: The chair seat is a little low to be used to the desk so is strictly for resting only.) It was rusty and grubby but we cleaned it up, finished it in a dark ash grey and blackened bronze paint, specially mixed for us in France, filled the centre with a little wooden bowl to hold a church candle. Place the candle surrounded by the artificial moss, in the centre to create a wonderful centre piece for any dining table. The candle and moss are included. After lots of scrubbing and sanding we finished it in a matte grey ash and blackened bronze. Three little cherubs look up at the stunning shade finished in the same colours as the lamp base and draped with a very long silk fringe found in a French flea market. Each panel on the shade is separated by a strip of soft velvet. This lamp has been wired for use in the UK and has been PAT tested. We found this Shaker style box at an antiques fair in Newark painted in a hideous pink with little motifs dotted all over it so we stripped it and finished it in a matte ash grey paint on the outside and a bright raspberry pink on the inside - totally transformed. But we didn't stop there. We drilled holes in the lid and threaded a milky coffee coloured vintage velvet ribbon through it to give it a corset effect. The Double Teapot, so named because we have decorated each side in a different way was found in a country house clearance in Northumberland. Superbly elegant it had definitely seen better days. Two of the birds have flown away but left their feet behind, the third bird in totally intact and beautifully detailed. The bowl has been finished in a matte white paint specially mixed for us in France and the bird, the little feet and the base rim have been finished in iridescent gold. When we came across this ceramic fruit bowl in a French flea market we nearly didn't pick it up but we are so pleased we did for a few months later we discovered a fixative for ceramic that can hold paint. This former faded fruit bowl now looks as though it has been cast in stone. Finished completely in a matte grey ash paint specially mixed for us in France. A beautiful centrepiece for any table. Rather than have it rewired we removed the wiring and found an intricate vintage bowl at a Paris flea market and fixed it to the top of the base. We finished it in Regency gold inside and out then added tiny vintage black silk tassels with gold bindings to the bottom. The tassels were found at a brocante in Paris and each has a little metallic gold woven loop. This shade can be hung from the ceiling or added to a lamp base. Truly opulent. An old battered jug that has a lot of weight to it, found under a table at a brocante in Paris was a sad looking article when we picked it up but showed great potential. We visited a car boot fair in Northumberland one Sunday and the first stall we came across had this fabulous hanging spoon sitting amongst a lot, of what we can only describe as rubbish. It shone out so we grabbed it and brought it home. We simply finished the spoon itself in a matte ash grey paint, specially mixed for us in France and left the loop and it's holder on the back in the original finish. We then found an piece of raspberry and bronze silk to cover the vintage lampshade and added little bronze mesh covered buttons to the front. We were given this fabulous Napoleon III table by a good friend and avid antiques collector in Paris. Finished in matte and lacquered black paints and topped with a gorgeous concrete tassel which is wound with a vintage black silk cord which is also wound around the leg of the table and finished with a tassel topped with a beautiful circle of cream vintage lace. There is much more to this table that meets the eye as the table top can be used as a blackboard. No one will miss reading your messages if this piece is placed near your front door.
