The Cider Box opens its second Bristol site at Wapping Wharf

The Cider Box will open its second site in Bristol next week, bringing shelves of modern craft cider from the finest producers internationally and award-winning wares from local cidermakers to Wapping Wharf. Landing on Thursday, 19th August, The Cider Box's new home will be within CARGO 2, Wapping Wharf's popular hub of converted shipping containers, housing an array of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and more. We have ciders from upstate New York, Malmo/Sweden and the finest Normandy juices alongside regional favourites from Herefordshire and Somerset, and we cannot wait to pop open a bottle or two and share the juice." The Cider Box was started in 2013 with the aim of bringing freshly pressed and fermented juice to the towns and cities of the UK, on a crusade against industrially produced drinks masquerading as cider.

The Cider Box promises fridges full of cans and bottles of fine fermented juice alongside kegs pouring the freshest cider in Bristol, served cold and sparkling to take away, made a hop, skip and jump away at its St Philip's site. Seasonal specialities will include mouth-watering cider slushies all summer long, and as the nights close in and the skies darken, hot spiced cider will be the order of the day. The focus will be on small batch, not-from-concentrate, freshly pressed cider with no added nasty bits. The unit at CARGO 2 will also feature a small tasting table for group tasting sessions, with collaborations planned with other Wapping Wharf businesses.

Dan Heath, founder of The Cider Box, said: "We're tremendously excited to open up in Wapping Wharf; our second site in Bristol alongside our St Philip's Tap Room, working with brilliant producers of the finest cider we can lay our hands on, and sharing our findings with our wonderful customers. Stuart Hatton, managing director at Umberslade, the developer of Wapping Wharf, said: "A big welcome to The Cider Box. It's brilliant that they have chosen to expand their business, off the back of their successful St Philip's Tap Room site, by opening a new venture at Wapping Wharf. Their modern, innovative cider sourced from local and international producers is sure to go down a treat among visitors to our growing harbourside community." The Cider Box will be taking the unit formerly home to Loop Massage, which is relocating from CARGO 2 to a bigger unit on the ground floor of Hope Quay along Rope Walk, also at Wapping Wharf. Wapping Wharf is in the heart of Bristol's historical and cultural quarter, with its treelined pedestrian and cycle route, Gaol Ferry Steps, providing an important connection between south Bristol to the city centre. Now home to over 40independent businesses, many of which are based within CARGO, Wapping Wharf is home to some of the city's best independent restaurants, shop, cafes and lifestyle businesses.
