Don’t miss out! Tickets are selling fast for the 2022 Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’s (GWAAC) annual comedy night. Aptly named Heli Laughs, this is the second annual comedy night in aid of GWAAC. Last year’s event — Laughter is the Best Medicine (also aptly named!) — was a rip-roaring success with tickets selling out fast. This year, ticket holders will be treated to performances from top Bristol comedians and comedians from across the UK, including: STUART GOLDSMITH (Compare) —

award-winning comic, speaker and host of the Comedians Comedian podcast. Stuart has been a regular at Edinburgh Fringe and appeared on several television shows. MATT RICHARDSON (Headliner) — multi-award-winning stand-up comedian with TV appearances under his belt, including co-hosting the Xtra Factor (ITV), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), Celebrity Juice (ITV), and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now! (ITV2). DANI JOHNS — local comedian delivering an energetic mix of storytelling and serious oversharing, described as one of the South West’s most promising rising stars. PRIYA HALL — Welsh-Indian stand-up comedian, writer and semi-finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2021. MORGAN REES — comedian, actor and writer boasting a densely packed arsenal of one-liners and hilarious short stories.

PRAVANYA PILLAY — writer and comedian delivering surreal, observational comedy from a unique perspective. FIRUZ OSARI — local comedian and winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award 2022.

The new TBY2 facility near Hartcliffe is proud to announce that the first booking for our new premium facility will be the bold new eight-part saga Rivals, based on the bestselling novel by Jilly Cooper (pictured), produced for Disney+ by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios. Rivals is an ambitious eight-part saga full of power, betrayal and romance, based on Jilly Cooper’s iconic novel. It is part of the author’s bestselling Rutshire Chronicles, an iconic and beloved piece of British literary history, capturing the joy, drama, excess, and brazen power-grabbing of the affluent elite in 1980s England. The UK original series will premiere on Disney+ in EMEA and Asia Pacific and Star+ in Latin America. Rivals dives head first into the cut throat world of independent television in 1986, where the shoulder pads are big and ambitions even bigger. In the fictional upper-class county of Rutshire, a long-standing rivalry between two powerful men is about to boil over: ex-Olympian, Member of Parliament, and notorious womaniser Rupert Campbell-Black, and his Rutshire neighbour Tony Baddingham, controller of the independent TV franchise Corinium Television. As tensions rise and rivalries deepen, there are spilled secrets, forged alliances, and snatched liaisons that draw wives, lovers, colleagues, friends, and families into their battle.

Although Rivals is a delightfully mischievous rollercoaster ride, teeming with steamy love stories and largerthan-life characters, it also provides a 2020s perspective on the 1980s. This offers a unique and unedited exploration of a complicated moment in British history, when class, race, sex, wealth, and sexual liberation meant that there were no limits to what the very privileged few could achieve.

The lead director is BAFTA-nominated Elliot Hegarty (Ted Lasso, Cheaters, Trying), who also serves as executive producer on episodes 1-3. Eliza Mellor (The Midwich Cuckoos, Behind Her Eyes, Poldark) serves as Series Producer. The series is written by Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Laura Wade, with a writers room that also includes: Sophie Goodhart (The Baby, Sex Education), Marek Horn, Mimi Hare & Clare Naylor (The Accidental Husband), Dare Aiyegbayo (The Dumping Ground, EastEnders), Kefi Chadwick (Looted, Avoidance), Tray Agyeman, and Sorcha Kurien Walsh (The Pink Pill).Executive producers for the series are Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Alexander Lamb for Happy Prince, Felicity Blunt, Laura Wade, Rivals author Jilly Cooper and Director of Scripted Content for Disney+ EMEA Lee Mason.
